Installingorreplacinghardware

Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstallorreplacehardwareforyourcomputer.Youcanmaintain yourcomputerorexpandthecapabilitiesofyourcomputerbyinstallingorreplacinghardware.

Installingexternaloptions

Youcaninstallexternaloptionstoyourcomputer,suchasexternalspeakers,aprinter,orascanner.For someexternaloptions,youmustinstalladditionalsoftwareinadditiontomakingthephysicalconnection. Whenyouinstallanexternaloption,see“Locatingcomputercontrols,connectors,andparts”onpage7 identifytherequiredconnector.Then,usetheinstructionsthatcomewiththeoptiontohelpyoumakethe connectionandinstallanysoftwareordevicedriversthatarerequiredfortheoption.
