The ThinkPad® USB Portable Secure Hard Drive is an innovative way to secure your valuable data in case of theft or loss. Optimised for safeguarding essential data while on-the-go, the ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive of fers high-level 128-bit Advanced Encr yption Standard (AES) security within a lightweight, self-powered, easy-to-use design. This option is also compatible with Rescue and Recovery on ThinkPad and ThinkCentre systems.

The Secure Hard Drive has three working modes: Standby Mode, User Mode, Admin Mode. An LED status indicator shows the current mode. The drive automatically goes into Standby Mode, when attached to your computer - the Secure Hard Drive is locked. To switch to User Mode enter the User Password. The drive will be recognized by the operating system and data accessible. By entering admin password you switch to Admin Mode, where you can manage admin and user passwords.

•Shock-mounted 5400 rpm hard drive with non-skid anti-vibration pads

•The integrated high-quality keypad allows entry of 6 to 16 digit passwords for up to 10 user and 1 administrator IDs

•Administrative password manager in case of forgotten passwords

•Built-in USB cable with an integral storage slot and USB extension cable for more flexible distance configurations up to 45cm/18inch

•Supplemental USB power cable for use in unlikely event that the PC's USB port does not provide enough power via drive's built-in cable
