Intheunlikelyeventthatyounoticeanyofthefollowingconditions,orifyou
haveanysafetyconcernswithyourproduct,stopusingtheproductand

battery,orabuildupofforeignsubstancesonthebattery.
•Acracking,hissing,orpoppingsound,orstrongodorthatcomesfromthe
product.
•Signsthatliquidhasbeenspilledoranobjecthasfallenontothecomputer
product,thepowercord,orpoweradapter.
•Thecomputerproduct,powercord,orpoweradapterhasbeenexposedto
water.
•Theproducthasbeendroppedordamagedinanyway.
•Theproductdoesnotoperatenormallywhenyoufollowtheoperating
instructions.
Note:Ifyounoticetheseconditionswithaproduct(suchasanextensioncord)
thatisnotmanufacturedfororbyLenovo,stopusingthatproductuntilyou
cancontacttheproductmanufacturerforfurtherinstructions,oruntilyougeta
suitablereplacement.
Generalsafetyguidelines
Alwaysobservethefollowingprecautionstoreducetheriskofinjuryandproperty
damage.
Batteries
AllpersonalcomputersmanufacturedbyLenovocontainanon-rechargeable
coincellbatterytoprovidepowertothesystemclock.Inaddition,manymobile
products,suchasnotebookcomputers,utilizearechargeablebatterypackto
providesystempowerwheninportablemode.BatteriessuppliedbyLenovofor
usewithyourproducthavebeentestedforcompatibilityandshouldonlybe
replacedwithapprovedparts.
Neverattempttoopenorserviceanybattery.Donotcrush,puncture,orincinerate
batteriesorshortcircuitthemetalcontacts.Donotexposethebatterytowater

orotherliquids.Onlyrechargethebatterypackstrictlyaccordingtoinstructions
includedintheproductdocumentation.
Batteryabuseormishandlingcancausethebatterytooverheat,whichcancause
gassesorameto“vent”fromthebatterypackorcoincell.Ifyourbatteryis
damaged,orifyounoticeanydischargefromyourbatteryorthebuildupofforeign
materialsonthebatteryleads,stopusingthebatteryandobtainareplacement
fromthebatterymanufacturer.
Batteriescandegradewhentheyareleftunusedforlongperiodsoftime.For
somerechargeablebatteries(particularlyLithiumIonbatteries),leavingabattery
unusedinadischargedstatecouldincreasetheriskofabatteryshortcircuit,
whichcouldshortenthelifeofthebatteryandcanalsoposeasafetyhazard.Do
notletrechargeableLithium-Ionbatteriescompletelydischargeorstorethese
batteriesinadischargedstate.

•Topreventpossibleshockhazard,donotuseyourcomputerduringa
lightningstorm.
•Donotconnectordisconnectanycablesorperforminstallation,

•Connectallpowercordstoaproperlywiredandgroundedelectrical
outlet.

youhaveadequateprotectionintheformofrewalls,antivirussoftware,and
anti-spywaresoftwareandkeepthissoftwareuptodate.
Usingheadphonesorearphones
Ifyourcomputerhasbothaheadphoneconnectorandanaudioline-out
connector,alwaysusetheheadphoneconnectorforheadphones(alsocalleda
headset)orearphones.
CAUTION:
Excessivesoundpressurefromearphonesandheadphonescancause
hearingloss.Adjustmentoftheequalizertomaximumincreasesthe
earphoneandheadphoneoutputvoltageandthesoundpressurelevel.
Therefore,toprotectyourhearing,adjusttheequalizertoanappropriate

IfyourLenovocomputercamewithheadphonesorearphonesinthepackage,
