Programming the Thermostat
Program the thermostat by choosing an event. An event is the beginning of a programming period. The default number of events per day is four. The thermostat may be programmed for two or four events per day. The names for the events are: WAKE, MORN, EVE, and NIGHT. The time for an event is selected based on when you want the event to occur. Four events are common for working households.
Programming may be performed in groups of days or individual days, as follows:
MON TO SUN − allows every day to be set the same.
MON TO FRI − allows for weekday programming.
SAT TO SUN − allows for weekend days to be adjusted separately.
MONDAY through SUNDAY − allows individual days of the week to be programmed separately.
NOTE − After using one of the groups of days described above, the program does allow you to subsequently change individual days to suit your needs.

Programming for Full Week or Work Week
The programming process for MON TO SUN, MON TO FRI, and SAT TO SUN is identical.
Full WeekThe least complex program is the full week MON TO SUN" program, wherein the events for every day of the week are the same. If this is chosen, follow steps 1 through 6, below, setting time and temperature for each event. One time through all the events completes the programming process.
Work WeekNext in complexity to the full week program is the work week program wherein the events are set for a typical work week (MON TO FRI) and different events are set for the weekend (SAT TO SUN). If MON TO FRI is chosen, follow steps 1 through 6, below, setting time and temperature for each event. Then repeat the same process for SAT TO SUN to complete the programming process.
1. From the home screen, press MENU. Use the Up or Down button to highlight PROGRAM. Press Select.
2. Select the appropriate time span from the program days list. For this example, choose the MON TO SUN program days and press Select.
3. Use Up/Down buttons to select the event to program. The unit can be set for two or four events per day. After choosing an event to program, press select. See User Settings" for Events Per Day selection.
4. The time for the first event should be highlighted. Use the UP or DOWN button to change the time.
Press SET TIME.
5. The heating setpoint for the first event is highlighted. Use the UP or DOWN button to change the desired temperature. Press SET HEAT.
6. The cooling setpoint for the first event will be highlighted. Use the UP or DOWN button to change the desired temperature. Press SET COOL. The next event, e.g. MORN will then be highlighted. Continue programming until all event times and heat/cool settings are set as desired.
Programming Day-by-Day
Individual day programming, MONDAY through SUNDAY, is done similar to full week or work week. However, with this mode, a down arrow" appears next to the SELECT. Using the down button, an additional option is available, COPY. After programming events for a selected day, for example MONDAY, you can select COPY. Another screen with the remaining days of the week appears. Use the up/down arrow buttons to scroll to another day, for example, THURSDAY, and press YES/NO. YES will appear next to THURSDAY. (Another press of the YES/NO button clears the YES" display [toggles back to NO]). Do this for each day to which you want to copy the individual day’s program.

GO TO: MENU > INSTALLER SETTINGS > AUTO CHANGEOVER > ENABLE [SELECT]
1. From the home screen press MENU. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight HEAT/COOL. Press SELECT.
2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight HEAT, COOL, or AUTO CHANGEOVER. Press SELECT. Pressing SELECT will turn on or off the selected cycle.
You do not have to turn off HEAT to turn on COOL. When HEAT or COOL or AUTO CHANGEOVER is turned on, all others are automatically shut off. After pressing SELECT, the home screen will automatically appear.
Determining if Heating or Cooling is ON
The thermostat display indicates the operating mode, HEAT, COOL, or AUTO. When the indoor temperature decreases or increases, the HEATING or COOLING cycle will turn on based on the displayed mode. When the HVAC system is on, LEDs along the bottom of the thermostat housing will turn on.
Humidification
Humidification is provided only when the thermostat is in heat mode. The
humidification signal (H terminal) to the humidifier is off when the thermostat is in the COOL mode.
The H terminal controls humidification. When the thermostat is powered, the H terminal is normally inactive (open circuit) in any mode (HEAT, COOL, OFF). When a humidification demand is present, H terminal and G terminal are energized (24V).
Also while humidification is occurring, a small water drop icon with a +" symbol inside (shown in margin) is displayed on the screen.
The default humidification setpoint is 45% Relative Humidity (RH). The default mode for humidification is OFF and needs to be activated during installation.
Humidification Modes
In BASIC mode, humidification occurs if these conditions are met and signals are present at specific terminals:
S humidification mode has been enabled, and S the unit is in HEAT mode, and S humidification demand exists (24V present at H), and S heat demand exists (W energized [for gas heat, W may be energized
with G de−energized]).
In PRECISION mode, humidification occurs (with or without a heat demand) when:
S humidification has been enabled, and S the unit is in HEAT mode, and S humidification demand exists (24V present at H).
NOTE − The D terminal is inactive (reverse logic, the terminal is powered) during humidification. For complete terminal descriptions, see tables 3, 5, and 7, on pp 22 and 23.

The humidification adjustment control may be adjusted in 1 percent increments; dew point range. Setting limits: Min. 15%, Max. 45%. Default setting: 45%.
Humidifier Maintenance Interval
The humidifier maintenance interval is a fixed (cannot be changed), 6−month interval that is measured when the thermostat H terminal is active. The HUMIDIFIER MAINTENANCE screen will be displayed after the H terminal has been active for a total elapsed time of 6 months (or 4,368 hours).
For example, if the interval timer started 2 days ago, the H terminal was active for 3 hours yesterday and 4 hours today; so far the H terminal has been active for 7 hours. Another 4,361 hours, during which the H terminal is active, must elapse before the HUMIDIFIER MAINTENANCE screen is displayed.
When the interval has expired, the screen will appear as shown to the right. Press DELAY to be reminded later or RESET to reset the interval. The delay lasts for two hours.
Humidification Sensor Fault
If the reading from the humidification sensor is out of range, then the H terminal becomes inactive, the D terminal goes to 24V, and the humidification reading display is blank. The out-of-range signal is an open or short circuit on the humidification sensor.

Dehumidification
Dehumidification is provided only when the thermostat is in cool mode. The dehumidification signal (D terminal) is used to reduce the speed of the indoor blower during dehumidification. It does this by de−energizing the D terminal (terminal is an open circuit). Otherwise, the D terminal is activated with 24VAC. This is always the case when the thermostat is in HEAT or OFF mode.
The D terminal controls dehumidification. When the thermostat is powered, the D terminal is always active (24V present) in HEAT and OFF modes and is also active in the COOL mode EXCEPT when there is a call for dehumidification. When a dehumidification demand is present, the D terminal is de− energized (open circuit), and the Y1 terminal becomes activated with 24VAC. Y2 (if available) also becomes activated with 24VAC.
The default mode for dehumidification is OFF and needs to be activated during installation. When dehumidification is occurring, a small teardrop icon with a −" symbol inside (shown in margin) is displayed on the screen.
