1 INTRODUCTION
The SPLENDIMO TRIPLO 801 is built around three (almost)
standard SPLENDIMO 280 F/FC mowers.
These F/FC machines have only slight alterations allowing
the customer to replace the machines for new standard
machines after they have outlived their economic lifetime or
after extensive damage. The old machines can be sold as
regular secondhand 280 F/FC mowers after reverting them to
standard. All that needs to be done is to exchange the special
parts from the old to the new machine.
1.1 Alterations to the rear mowers are:
• On each of the machines the 2 rubber buffers between
headstock and mower have been replaced by harder nylon
ones. For more information, see separately added assembly
instructions (example below).
• On FC-model only:
- Nylon swathboard extensions cannot be used
- On the right hand mower a special support has been
mounted to the side of the V-belt casing (one welded part
inside and one part outside).
• The use of the SPLENDIMO 280 F/FC machines has
been described in the documentation that accompanies
the individual machines.
• This manual references the documentation of the
SPLENDIMO F/FC and only describes the specifics of
the assembly of the TRIPLO frame and two rear
mowers.

2 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
In addition to the safety instructions in the F/FC manual.
• Although the TRIPLO frame is supplied with rear lights,
apply extra lights, flashing lights or safety signs if local
legislation requires this.
• Make sure that there is enough weight on the front axle of
the tractor to ensure a safe and proper response when
steering and accelerating.
• Make sure the ball valves supplied on each mower cylinder
and the frame cylinders are closed before driving the
tractor machine combination on the road.
• To change to transport position first fully lift all the
mowers and close the ball valves on each mower cilinder.
Then activate the frame cylinders until the mowers rest on
the supports on the frame. Now close the ball valves on the
frame cylinders.
• Check the condition of hydraulic hoses for damage before
use. Don’t operate the machine when hoses are damaged or
in bad condition.
• Check the condition of safety-shields, -curtains and guards
before use. Don’t operate the machine unless they are all
found in order.
• If you need to hoist the rear machine, only use the four
hoisting points provided on the central frame.

3 ASSEMBLING THE MOWERS TO THE
TRIPLO FRAME
First make sure that the alterations to the mowers (as
mentioned earlier) have been done.
• Attach the front mower to the front of the tractor as this
will double as a counterweight for the rear assembly.
• Attach the frame to the back of the tractor.
• Attach the hydraulics to the tractor: the single tube
attached to the electric valves will feed the single acting
cylinders on the mowers. The two remaining tubes will
feed the double acting cylinders on the TRIPLO frame.
• Attach the PTO shaft to the tractor, check the minimum and
maximum overlap and shorten the shafts if needed*.
• Lift the frame and remove the three stands, they can be
stored on top of the frame.
• Now lower the frame and pick up the rear mower(s). For
more information, refer to the F/FC operator’s manual
chapter 2 “Mounting behind the tractor”.
• Attach the PTO shafts between mowers and frame, check
the minimum and maximum overlap and shorten the shafts
if needed*.
• Use the supplied fixture clamps (A) to secure the
connection between mower and frame.
• Install the control box in the tractor cabin and connect it to
a 12 V power supply.
*
Consult the instruction supplied with the PTO-shaft.

4 OPERATING THE SPLENDIMO
TRIPLO 801
In addition to the F/FC manual.
4.1 From transport position to working position
Make sure that there is enough room to lower the machine
and that there is no one standing in this “Danger-zone”
• Open the ball-valves on the frame cylinders
• Lower the frame cylinders. The two sides are coupled but
due to weight distribution one side will always be first to
lower
• Make sure that 12 V power is applied to the control box
• Set the switch on the control box to middle position
• Open the ball-valves on the mowers and lower these
• Adjust the mowing height (see mowing height adjustments)
• Bring the TRIPLO frame to working height: adjust the
three point hitch until the bottom side of the mower
headstock is approx. 80 cm above ground level (see F/FC
manual chapter 4)
• Now use the machines the same as using one F/FC mower
(see F/FC manual chapter 5).
4.2 Mowing height adjustments
The top links that connect the mowers to the frame are not
meant for adjusting the mowing height. They are can however
be used to synchronize the mowing height of the left and right
mower if needed.
To adjust mowing height adjust the top link that connects the
TRIPLO frame to the tractor. Make sure that the top link is
not extended too far.

5 OPERATING THE MACHINE
Operate the machine with a PTO rpm of 1,000.
During use of the machine the operator can lower or raise
either machine using the control box.
Setting the switch to middle position will control the
cylinders on both mowers. Switching it to either side controls
the cylinder on one side (see picture).
5.1 From working position to transport position
• Switch off PTO power and wait until everything has come
to a stop.
• Fully lift all the mowers and close the ball valves on each
mower cilinder.
• Activate the frame cylinders until the mowers rest on the
frame supports.
• Close the ball valves on the frame cylinders.
6 STORING THE MACHINE
• Raise the frame and place the supports (3x) underneath the
frame.
• Lower the frame, lower the mowers and disconnect the
frame from the tractor.
• The (rear)machine can eventually be stored in transport
position using the supports. In that case be sure that the
machine is placed on a stable horizontal surface.
Also make sure that all the ball valves (4x) are all closed
before disconnecting the frame from the tractor.

7 MAINTENANCE
In addition to the maintenance instructions in the F/FC
manual (Chapter 7 “Maintenance”).
7.1 Lubrication
For additional information regarding the individual mower lubrication specifications, see chapter 7 “Maintenance” of the Splendimo F/FC operator’s manual.
• The TRIPLO frame incorporates three extra PTO-shafts
that are to be greased every 8 hours
• In the cover of the central driveline just before the central
gearbox there is a hole to access the grease nipple of a joint
that also needs grease every 40 working hours
• The frames hinge points are to be greased every 40 working
hours
• On a new machine or newly assembled gearbox the oil
(type GX85W140) in the central gearbox (capacity 3,25 l)
and outer gearbox (capacity 1,7 l) should be changed after
approx. 30 working hours. After this replenishment, oil
should be changed every 250 working hours.
• Regularly check the condition of hydraulic hoses for
damage. Don’t operate the machine when hoses are damaged or in bad condition.
• Regularly check the condition of safety-shields, -curtains
and guards. Don’t operate the machine unless they are all
found in order.
