Pin Definition
LightBeam 260 use 3 pins XLR plug for DMX signal in/out, just as follows
Pin 1
Shield ground
Pin 2
Signal –
Pin 3
Signal +
Plug base for 3 pins to 5 pins is also available, and match with 5 pins equipment, it will not affect its functions, because the pin 4/5 are spare pin for the standard DMX signal
Date connection
1 Connect a DMX signal cable from the connector to the Male XLR plug of
the light
2 Insert a cable to the Female XLR plug and connect to the next light 3 Combine a resistance at the last light
Notice for the reliable of date transfer
Adopt dual cable for RS-485: standard cable is not fit for long distance data
transfer, and the transfer distance of 24AGW cable can reach 300 meters (1000 inches), thicker cable needed when transfer with long distance, signal amplifier is good choice for this
The branching driver can use the signal splittersuch as six-channel optically
isolated RS485 distributor from Drastic
Dont connect over 32 lights at one signal line Connect a 120Ω 1/4w resistance in the middle of signal+ and signal- on
the last light, this method can avoid the reflection interference of signal, similarly, if use signal splitter, also required to add that resistance at the every terminals.
