LiteTrike Kit Installation:
1. Upon receiving your new LiteTrike Lighting Kit, we ask that you first test the kit to ensure it is functioning properly.
Connect the red power from to the positive terminal of the battery and the black ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery. Once the wires are temporarily secure, power the kit by pressing “Button D” on the wireless remote to ensure full functionality before installing it. If everything appears to be working properly, turn the kit off and disconnect the power and ground wires from the battery to prepare for installation.
2. Optional: Remove any trim pieces from your trike that may hinder the installation of the lighting strips.
3. Begin by first laying out LED lighting strips similar to the way they will be installed. Make sure that the wires will be
able to be routed in such a way that they will not be pinched, cut or exposed to heat. Also, keep the wires and strips away from all moving parts that may come in contact with any part of the kit. IF A POWER WIRE IS CUT OR
PINCHED, IT WILL CAUSE THE KIT TO MALFUNCTION AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY DUE TO PHYSICAL DAMAGE.
4. Temporarily place the lighting strips to their intended mounting locations and route the power wires to the planned
control box mounting area. Use the supplied zip ties to secure the power wires to their mounting points. Be sure to keep the power wires away from the suspension, any direct heat sources and/or moving parts. A few recommended locations to mount the light strips are under the running boards, under the gas tank, frame, triple trees, dashboard, trunk, battery cover, and oil tank.
5. Once the lighting strips and wires have been mocked up, clean the proposed mounting surfaces with an alcohol prep
pad. The mounting surface should be between 45 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit to achieve the strong bonding results from the double sided tape. Note: The surface area must be free of all oils, moisture, dirt, and wax in order for the supplied adhesive tape to bond and adhere to the installation surface correctly. Optional: To achieve the strongest bond between the lighting strips and the trike, you can use 3M Adhesion Promoter, which is sold separately from your kit.
6. Mount each lighting strip to the cleaned and dry surface of the trike by using the supplied 3M tape on the strip. Run the
wires to the planned location of the control box and secure each wire to the frame by using the included zip ties. Be sure to use the zip ties, this is a very important step that should not be skipped. Once this step is complete and the lighting strips and wires are secure, allow ample time for the adhesive to settle and cure. Repeat this step for the remaining strips included with your kit.
7. Find a secure and dry place to mount the control box. We recommend mounting it under the seat or in a water tight
compartment if possible. If this is not possible then we suggest mounting the control box in the driest location available. The control box is not designed to withstand any water damage and if any does occur, it will void all warranties. Optional: Seal the end caps of the control box with silicone to prevent water damage.
8. Connect the red power wire from the control box to the positive terminal of the battery. If the power wire needs to be
extended, be sure to use 16 or 18 gauge automotive grade wiring. Be sure to reinstall the fuse within 6 inches of the battery. Connect the black ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
9. The kit was designed using a modular locking plug system for connect the lighting strips to the control box by using the
included wire harness. Start plugging the male connections from the strips and control box into the female connections of the harness.
10. Test the functionality of the kit once more. If everything seems to be working correctly, you can now reinstall any trim
you removed for the installation.
