How to Play Number Knockout
A game consists of three rounds of play. In each round, roll the dice and add. Match the total of the dice using any combination of number buttons. Keep rolling, adding, and matching until you can no longer make any combinations. Try to get a Knockout by using all your numbers! The game begins with all number buttons lit.
1. On your turn, press and add up the two dice.
2 . Press a number button or any combination of number buttons that add up to the dice value rolled. These numbers are now “knocked out” and cannot be used for the remainder of the round.
Example:
(Roll) (Add Together)
Possible number combinations to “knock out” (press) for 6:
6 2 & 4 1 & 5 1 & 2 & 3
• Press a number button once to select the
number & turn its light OFF.
• Press a number button a second time
(before pressing ENTER) to deselect it and turn its light back ON.
3. Press ENTER (marked Player 1 or Player 2) to check the selected number(s).
• If the numbers match the dice value, you
will hear a positive tone.
Player 1 begins.
4 + 2 = 6
• If the numbers do not match the dice value,
you will hear a negative tone and see the incorrect number button (s) flash several times and turn back ON. You will then hear a 5-second countdown to submit a new
entry. If you run out of time or the numbers
you select still do not match the dice value, this round is over for you.
4. If you are playing alone, press and try
to match the new dice value with the remaining lit number buttons. If you are playing a 2-player game, it is now the next player’s turn.
5. Take turns rolling and entering matches until the ROUND ends in one of the following ways:
• The remaining numbers cannot be used to
• match the dice value
• All remaining numbers are successfully
• KNOCKED OUT
• A reentry is incorrect or the 5-second
• countdown time expires
If you are eliminated from the current
round in a 2-player game, you must wait until your opponent completes the round. You may play again in the next round.
6. All number buttons reset to ON after the end of a round.
Scoring
The game tracks the sum of the unused (lit) numbers at the end of each round. Your total score equals the sum from each of the 3 rounds of play.
Knockout
Use all of the numbers in a round and it’s a “Knockout!” Hear the special announcement and receive 0 points (the best possible score) for that round!
Player Rank
In a Main Event game, your score is ranked
as follows :
+Addition 51 or more points = Amateur 26–50 points = Contender 25 or less points = Champion
-Subtraction 76 or more points = Amateur 36 –75 points = Contender 35 or less points = Champion
Top Scores
The top scores for both Main Event +Addition and -Subtraction are saved by the computer.
When you get a top score, enter your initials using the arrows to scroll and the SELECT button. You may enter up to three characters.
Top scores are saved until the batteries are removed from the game or the reset button is pressed.
The Main Event -Subtraction
Follow the same basic rules for The Main Event +
Addition except in Subtraction mode:
First, add the dice. Then, subtract the dice value from 12 to find the number to match.
Example:
First:
2 + 2 = 4
Possible number combinations to “knock out”(press) for 8:
8 3 & 5 1 & 7 1 & 3 & 4 2 & 6 1 & 2 & 5
Then:
12 – 4 = 8
Head to Head +Addition
Speed is the key to this game! Instead of taking turns, both players compete at the same time using the same roll of the dice.
1. Either player may press to begin.
2. When the dice stop rolling, race to add the dice and enter a matching number combination.
• If both players try to enter the same
number combination, only the first entry is
valid. If your entry is denied, try to enter a
completely different number combination in order to make a match before the
5-second countdown expires. If a different
entry is unavailable, you are eliminated and the round is over.
Example:
4 + 2 = 6
• If Player 1 enters 4 & 2 first on this example
roll, then Player 2 must enter one of the other possible number combinations (6 or 1 & 5 or 1 & 2 & 3) to continue play.
3. Play continues with new rolls of the dice until a rounds ends when:
• One of the players fails to match the dice
• or has no combinations available
• Both of the players fail to match the dice
• or have no combinations available (tie)
• One of the players scores a KNOCKOUT
• by using all numbers in a round (the
• computer will only accept the first player
• to use all numbers)
Scoring
The player not eliminated from a round is awarded 1 point.
If both players are eliminated, the round is a tie
and no points are awarded.
The winner of the game is determined in a “best of three rounds” format.
A player winning the first two rounds automatically wins the “best of three” and there is no third round.
If players are tied after three rounds, play
continues with new rounds until the tie is broken.
A player scoring a KNOCKOUT in any round
automatically wins the game.
Head to Head -Subtraction
Follow the same basic rules for Head to Head +
Addition except in Subtraction mode:
Both players add the dice. Then, players
subtract the dice value from 12 to find the number to match.
Example:
First:
5 + 3 = 8
Possible number combinations to “knock out” (press) for 4:
4 1 & 3
The winner of the game is determined in the same “best of three rounds” format of Head to Head +Addition.
Then:
12 – 8 = 4
