Quick Start Guide LC-IND485-IRPT

Optically Isolated RS-485 Repeater

Introduction

Model LC-IND485-IRPT is an optically isolated RS-422/485 signal repeater. In addition to offering 2KV isolation on the data lines, it can be used to extend your RS-422/485 circuit

an additional 4,000 ft, doubling the range. An added benet is that you are able to add another 32 nodes to your RS-485 net work and join 2 and 4 wire systems.

The compact design lets you t this repeater almost anywhere. Terminal blocks allow easy installation. A 12 VDC wall transformer power supply is included with convenient

stripped and tinned leads.

Set the Jumpers

Set the Jumpers for 2 or 4-wire and for baud rate. Default on both sides is 2-Wire, 9600. If you want to set the unit for 4-Wire or change the baud rate, you will need a screwdriver. Remove the 4 screws and open the unit. Set jumpers as shown. If you set the unit for 38.4 it will usually wor k at higher baud rate s.
