Components inside the device may generate high voltages which can lead to life-threatening electric shocks if touched.
CAUTION!
Service and repair work must only be carried out by qualied personnel. Do not open the case as there is a risk of electric shock. There are no controls or components inside the device that require you to open the case. If the case has to be opened by qualied personnel, make sure that the device is completely disconnected from the power supply.
Use the power cable provided to connect the device to the mains. If a cable is damaged, do not try to repair it. The device must be grounded. Never isolate the grounding on the mains plug.
The mains fuse is located inside the device. The mains fuse should only be replaced with a fuse of the same rating. Never bypass the main fuse or replace it with a higher rating.
The operating voltage must match the local power supply.
The device should be shielded from moisture and wet conditions. It must not be operated in rain or close to water, baths, washbasins, sinks, swimming pools or in damp environments. Do not place any objects lled with water such as vases, glasses or bottles on the device.
Avoid direct sunlight and do not install it in the direct vicinity of radiators or other heat sources. Upon sudden change of climatic conditions (e. g. transfer from a cold place to a warm room) water may condense inside the device, which may lead to malfunction or damage. Before switch-on wait until the ampliers have reached room temperature.

Front Controls
1 Gain per Channel The gain controls have a logarithmic characteristic.
The nom. Sensitivity is related to MAX.
2 BRIDGE LEDs
The LEDs show, that the channel pair is switched into bridge mode.
3 SLEEP LEDs
The LEDs show, that the channel pair is temporarily switched into an idle state (SLEEP) due to absent input signal.
4 POWER LED
The LED shows, that the ampli er is switched on.
5 SIGNAL LEDs
The LEDs indicate present signals at the speaker outputs.
6 LIMIT LEDs The LEDs indicate that the limiter is active to avoid distortion.
Save operation of the ampli er is not affl icted even by permanent limiting.
7 PROTECT LEDs
The LEDs show an irregular state of the corresponding
ampli er channel e.g. shortened output, DC at the output or damage. If the operating temperature exceeds the maximum allowed the ampli er goes into standby and all PROTECT LEDS are lit. While powering on all PROTECT LEDS are lit until the ampli er is ready.
8 POWER SWITCH
The ampli er turns on with approx. 5 seconds delay.

Backside Controls – Connectors per Channel Pair
1 Speaker Connectors
Fix the speaker cables to the screw-type terminals The speaker Impedance shouldn’t come signi cantly below 2 ohms ( 4 ohms in bridge mode)
2/6 VCA Inputs
Inputs for external volume control via our Control panels WP-V and RP-V, with the DV-Module (digital volume control) plus up/down contacts or with 0 – 10 V dimmer actuators. (0 V = nom. Gain, 10 V = –80 dB, 15 V = mute)
3/4 INPUT + THRU (CH 2, DH 4, CH 6 and CH 8)
Symmetric input und parallel outputs for looping through various inputs. In PARALLEL or BRIDGE mode these inputs are inactive.
5 MODE Switches
5.1 INPUT SENSITIVITY
In the lower position the sensitivity is switched from +4 dBU (professional) to –6 dBU for home audio applications.
5.2 STEREO/PARALLEL
In the lower position the channel pair is connected in parallel to the inputs 1, 3, 5 or 7. The gain controls on front and the VCA inputs still regulate the channels separately.
5.3 BRIDGE MODE
In the lower position the channel pair operates in bridge mode and is driven by inputs 1, 3, 5 or 7. The PARALLEL mode (5.2) must be deactivated.
1 2
3
5
5.4 STEADY ON
In the upper position the channel pairs operate in AUTO ON/OFF mode and switch automatically into an idle state (SLEEP) if the input signal is absent for over 5 min. This signi cantly reduces power consumption. In the lower position the channel pairs are permanently active.
7/8 INPUT + THRU (CH 1, DH 3, CH 5 and CH 7)
Symmetric input und parallel outputs for looping through various inputs. In PARALLEL or BRIDGE mode only these inputs are active.
9 FAULT CONTACT
Floating contact: Closes if one of the ampli er channels is malfunctioning.
10 STAND-BY
The STAND-BY contact must be closed to activate the ampli er. It may either be closed by a shorting bridge (delivery condition) or by an external fl oating switch. Via this contact a single or multiple ampli ers can be remotely switched on and off by a a fl oating N/O contact of a voice alarm system. In case of an announcement or if the connection to the voice alarm system is cut the contact opens and the ampli ers are shut off . After the contact is closed again the ampli ers turns on with approx. 5 seconds delay.
11 GROUND/LIFT
In the LIFT position audio inputs and outputs are softly grounded. In the GROUND position audio ground is directly connected to the mains ground.
12 IEC Connector
Connect to the power supply using the supplied power cable.

External Wiring of VCA Control Inputs
1-Channel Volume Control using WP-V or
RP-V
The control panels provide regulation from 0 to –80 dB and an on/off switch (ON/MUTE). “ON” is indicated by the green LED.
Multichannel Volume Control using
WP-V or RP-V
One control panel can regulate several ampli er channels in parallel. Within one multichannel ampli er only the VCA input contacts needs to be wired for parallel operation. Connecting two or more ampli ers also a ground wire is needed.
1-Channel Volume Control using the DV Module
For volume control by fl oating up/down contacts the DV module can be used. Regulation is from 0 to –80 dB with 64 steps. The last level is stored automatically. The control panels provides regulation from 0 to –80 dB and an on/off switch (ON/MUTE).
11
External Wiring of VCA Control Inputs
Multichannel Volume Control using the DV Module
Like the WP-V or RP-V panels also the DV module may control several ampli er channels in parallel.
1-Channel Volume Control using a 0 – 10 V Dimmer Actuator with ON/OFF Contact
A passive 0 – 10 V dimmer actuator (e.g. for the KNX bus system) or a smart home controller with appropriate 0 – 10 V outputs can control the volume of a single or several ampli er channels. Additional fl oating contacts allow the ON/MUTE functionality.
Multichannel Volume Control using a 0 – 10 V Dimmer Actuator with ON/OFF Contact
Like the analog volume control panels the 0 – 10 V outputs of dimmer actuators or smart home controllers may control several ampli er channels in parallel.
The 15 V outputs are constant current sources with 10 mA nom. current limit. A passive actuator pulls them down to the target level.
Regulation Characteristics
0 V at the VCA input = 0 dB (maximum) 10 V at the VCA input = –80 dB 15 V at the VCA input = mute
