2.1 General advice
For cleaning the instr ument please do not use abrasive cleaner but a dry or wet pi ece of cloth.
Please store the measuring instrument in a dry and clean place.
Avoid any force like shocks or pressure to the instrument.
Do not use force to connect the pr obe or i nterface plugs in. The interface plug differs
from the probe.
þ
If no sensor is connected to t he instrument while switching on
mODl
will be
indicated on the displ ay (þ chapter 4 Error codes )
2.2 Operation
Please kindly chec k if the prov ided mains plug unit is working properly with y our power suppl y ,. The standard equipment is for 230V; 50/60Hz power supply . If your mains supply a diff er ent voltage, you need the universal (all) mains unit ( 90- 260V; 50/60Hz). Please connect first the measuring devic e with t he suitable mains plug unit (see picture on the back side of the device) and then connect the mains plug with the mains supply socket. (
þ
3 Power supply). The measuring probe 1 i s firmly c onnec ted to CH 1. If you would like to connect a second measuring probe: Plug the
second probe into the socket CH 2 of t he measuring device. The connection socket s on the housi ng ar e marked accordingly a CH 2, RS 232 or Analogue Out.
2.3 Switching on and off
By operating the ON/OFF- k ey the instrument will be switched on or off. After switching on the instrument indicates a full segment test for 1,5 sec. Afterwards the instrument shows the calibration-code and the adjusted measurement category for
channel 1 (e.g.
[
mEE
for standard distinguishing line and P for Pt100).
In the following the c alibr ation data of the second channel (if available) will be shown.

Now the thermomet er start s operating in measurement mode indicating the actual measurement value. All instrum ents display the measurement v alue of channel 1 on the top display line (large display line) . Underneath the trending bargraph is shown. The second channel of our 2-channel instruments would be displayed on the bottom line (small display line).
2.4 Menu

Despite high quali ty manufacturing techniques, eac h probe i s slightly different from specified standards. To eliminate inaccuracies caused by exchanging or ageing of probes, the instrument off er easy calibration functions which guarantee that the system accuracy is always as good as if the instrument was specifically cali br ated t o the individual probes in our laboratory .
The instruments offer three calibration options:
[
mO0
]: LAUDA-factory calibration, encoded calibration wit h optimum accuracy.
Probe and electr onic s are being calibrated at the same time. Theref or e the accuracy reaches 0,03°C for temperature range –100°C to +150°C. This calibration is stored as
mO0
calibration code.
Please note that the acc ur ac y will be 0,05°C in case another probe is connected that was calibrat ed without the electronics. (This probe data can be read as a 2x4 digi ts code on the handle of the LAUDA DigiCal probes and result s from the 2-point-com pari son met hod

8. Data of probe-calibration
Our quality-probes are t he m ain reason for the precision and qual ity of your measuring. To facili tate the exchange of a probe without a losi ng precision, our probes were measured in our company and added with a code that describes the characteristic line of t he probe. The probe is labelled obvi ously with the relevant code.
If you change the probe you have to enter the code into the measuring instrument. . We recommend to write down both val ues i n order to avoid any problems (especially if the probe is positioned at a place difficult t o access, or if there are several external probes i n use):
