ELEMENTOS DE SEGURIDAD

1. Hay un protector de sobrecarga térmica incorporado para
evitar el sobrecalentamiento.

2. Si se alcanza una temperatura de sobrecalentamiento, el
Calefactor se apagará automáticamente. Sólo podrá retomar
el funcionamiento cuando el usuario reinicie la unidad.

Para Reiniciar el Calefactor:

1. Desconecte el Calefactor y espere 10 minutos hasta que la
Unidad se enfríe.

2. Después que el Calefactor se haya enfriado, conecte
la unidad a un tomacorriente eléctrico de 120V~ y siga
las instrucciones de funcionamiento descriptas en este
manual.

MANTENIMIENTO

Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico e incendio por favor obedezca las siguientes instrucciones.

Limpiar el Calefactor regularmente ayudará a mantener su eciencia.

CONSEJOS DE SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

Si su calefactor se apaga inesperadamente o no funciona, el
elemento de seguridad arriba mencionado podría haber sido
activado para evitar el sobrecalentamiento.

1. Asegúrese que el cable eléctrico esté conectado a un
tomacorriente eléctrico en funcionamiento.

2. Verique la posición de su Termostato. El Calefactor puede
haberse apagado por haber alcanzado la posición de
temperatura deseada.

- Siempre desconecte el cable eléctrico antes de mover, reparar o limpiar.

- NUNCA coloque el Calefactor dentro de o cerca de agua. NO SUMERJA EL CALEFACTOR EN AGUA

- Limpie el Calefactor solamente con una aspiradora equipada con un accesorio de cepillo; la aspiradora
quitará el polvo y los desperdicios del interior del Calefactor.

- Aspire las parrillas de entrada cada dos semanas; esto ayudará a mantener el rendimiento óptimo del
calefactor.

- Use un cepillo de dientes u otro cepillo de cerdas suaves para aojar suavemente cualquier polvo que no
haya sido retirado por la aspiradora

- NUNCA intente desarmar el Calefactor.

- Limpie el cuerpo del Calefactor únicamente con un trapo suave.

- NUNCA use ALCOHOL o SOLVENTES tales como gasolina, bencina, disolvente de pinturas u otros
limpiadores duros.

REPARACIONES: Toda otra reparación, con excepción del mantenimiento general del usuario, debe ser realizada por un representante

autorizado de reparaciones. Llame al 1-800-233-0268, de lunes a viernes, entre las 8 a.m. y las 5 p.m. EST para conocer la ubicación de su
centro de reparaciones más cercano.

MACENAMIENTO: Almacene el Calefactor con estas instrucciones en la caja original en un lugar fresco y seco.

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the

risk of re, electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following:

Read all instructions before using this Heater.

1. DO NOT PLUG HEATER INTO ANY OTHER CORD CONNECTED DEVICE, SUCH AS A POWER STRIP, SURGE PROTECTOR, MUL-

TIPLE OUTLET ADAPTER, CORD REEL OR OUTLET-TYPE AIR FRESHENER. THE USE OF SUCH DEVICES MAY CREATE A FIRE
HAZARD. PLUG UNIT DIRECTLY INTO A 120V WALL OUTLET ONLY.

2. AVOID THE USE OF EXTENSION CORDS BECAUSE THE EXTENSION CORD MAY OVERHEAT AND CAUSE A RISK OF FIRE.
HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE TO USE AN EXTENSION CORD, MINIMIZE THE RISK OF OVERHEATING BY USING THE SHORTEST
CORD POSSIBLE AND BY ENSURING THAT IT IS UL LISTED. THE CORD SHALL BE A 3-WIRE, GROUNDING TYPE, WITH NO. 14
AWG MINIMUM SIZE AND RATED NOT LESS THAN 1875 WATTS (15A). NEVER USE A SINGLE EXTENSION CORD TO OPERATE
MORE THAN ONE HEATER. NEVER USE A CORD REEL.

WARNING: Faulty wall outlet connections may cause the wall outlet to overheat. Be sure that heater plug fits tightly into outlet

before each use. During use, check to make certain the Heater plug is not overheating. If necessary have a qualied electrician
check and/or replace the wall outlet.

3. Use this Heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause re, electrical shock,
or injury to persons.

4. Make certain that the room is equipped with a working smoke detector.

5. Make certain that the power source conforms to the electrical requirements of the Heater.

6. Extreme caution is necessary when any Heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the Heater is left oper­ating unattended.

7. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electri­cian. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

8. Do not operate any Heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the Heater malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.

9. To disconnect Heater, turn the Heater OFF then remove the plug from the outlet.

DO NOT DEPEND ON THE ON/OFF SWITCH AS THE SOLE MEANS OF DISCONNECTING POWER WHEN SERVICING

OR MOVING THE HEATER. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. ALWAYS TURN OFF AND UNPLUG HEATER BE­FORE LEAVING THE AREA. NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED WHEN THE HEATER IS ON OR PLUGGED IN.

10. Always unplug Heater when not in use. Unplug power cord before servicing or moving the Heater.

11. Do not insert or allow ngers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may cause an electric shock, re, or dam­age the Heater. Do not block or tamper with the Heater in any manner while it is in operation.

12. To prevent a possible re, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not place on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings
may become blocked.

13. Always place the Heater on a stable, at, level surface when operating, to avoid the chance of the Heater overturning. Locate the Power
Cord so the Heater or other objects are not resting on it. DO NOT run Power Cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover Power Cord with
throw rugs, runners, or the like. Arrange Power Cord away from room trafc and where it will not be tripped over.

14. This Heater is HOT when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Always use handle when moving this Heater.
Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the
Heater and keep them at least 1 foot (0.3 m) from the sides and rear.

15. A Heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. DO NOT use the Heater in areas where gasoline, paint, or ammable liquids are
used or stored. DO NOT use Heater in locations where ammable or explosive chemicals are stored, or in wet atmospheres. This Heater
is intended for general use ONLY.

16. This Heater is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. This Heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar
indoor locations. NEVER locate a Heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.

17. DO NOT use Heater outdoors.

18. Remote controls for other appliances or electronic equipment can sometimes interfere with the operation of this Heater. If this occurs,
move the Heater to another location.

19. Keep Heater remote control unit away from chairs and your bed where it may be sat or laid upon and inadvertently turn on the Heater.

20. This Heater is not suitable for use in agricultural facilities including areas where livestock, poultry or other animals are conned. Please
refer to National Electric Code (NEC) Article 547-7 (2002), or applicable state or local codes or standards relating to electrical require­ments for Agricultural Buildings. THIS HEATER DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF NEC ARTICLE 547-7 (2002).

21. This Heater is not suitable for use in hazardous locations. Please refer to National Electric Code (NEC) Article 500 or applicable state or
local codes or standards relating to electrical requirements for Hazardous locations. THIS HEATER DOES NOT MEET THE

REQUIREMENTS OF NEC ARTICLE 500 (2002).

WARNING: REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK – DO NOT USE THIS HEATER WITH ANY SOLID STATE SPEED
CONTROL DEVICES.

FUNCIONAMIENTO

1. Cuidadosamente retire el Calefactor de la bolsa y de la caja.

2. Coloque el Calefactor sobre una supercie rme y plana.

ADVERTENCIA: Los tacos de plástico o hule, tales como las

patas de esta unidad, pueden pegarse a la supercie de los muebles
y/o a los pisos de madera. La unidad podría dejar un residuo capaz
de oscurecer, manchar o dejar marcas permanentes en el acabado
de ciertas supercies de muebles, incluyendo supercies de madera
y/o pisos de madera.

3. Conecte el cable a un tomacorriente de 120 voltios.

Asegúre s e q u e el enc h ufe e nca j e r m eme n te e n el

tomacor r ien t e.

Cuando los enchufes quedan flojos dentro de
los tomacorrientes, podrían deslizarse parcial o
completamente fuera del tomacorriente con el menor
movimiento del cable adosado. Los tomacorrientes en
este estado podrían sobrecalentarse y representar un
peligro de incendio grave; si queda cubierto por una
cortina o tela, el peligro de incendio es todavía mayor.

4. El Calefactor emitirá un “bip” cuando lo conecte por primera vez.

5. ENCIENDA el Calefactor oprimiendo el Botón de Encendido.

6. Cuando se lo encienda por primera vez, el Calefactor mostrará la
temperatura actual de la habitación en ° Fahrenheit. Oprima los
botones ( ) y ( ) al mismo tiempo para cambiar la pantalla a °
Celsius. Oprima los dos botones al mismo tiempo nuevamente
para cambiar la pantalla y volver a ° Fahrenheit.

7. La unidad estará en calor ALTO (1500 vatios) y mostrará la

temperatura actual de la habitación (Figura 1)

8. Oprima el botón de Modo para calor BAJO (750 vatios).

9. Para APAGAR el Calefactor, presione el Botón de Encendido y

desconecte el Calefactor del tomacorriente eléctrico.

TEMPORIZADOR: (Figura 2)

La función de temporizador puede ser activada cuando la pantalla
del Calefactor está en cualquier velocidad o temperatura. Esta
función le permite jar la cantidad de tiempo que el Calefactor
estará funcionando antes de apagarse automáticamente, de 1
hora a 7 horas. Presionar el Botón de Temporizador aumentará la
cantidad de tiempo, en combinaciones de 1, 2 y 4 horas. Oprimir
continuamente el botón provocará que el temporizador quede jado
para 7 horas. El Calefactor se apagará cuando el tiempo jado haya
transcurrido. La unidad puede volver a encenderse presionando el

Botón de Encendido.

TERMOSTATO:

Oprimir el botón ( ) o el botón ( ) le permite a usted jar la temperatura
deseada del Calefactor. Para mayor eciencia, el termostato sólo
funcionará en calor ALTO. (Figura 3)

1. Oprima el botón ( ) para aumentar la temperatura jada deseada

o presione el botón ( ) para reducir la temperatura fijada
deseada.

2. Cuando la temperatura del aire alcance los 2° por encima de la
temperatura jada, el Calefactor se apagará.

3. Cuando la temperatura del aire alcance un 1° por debajo de la
temperatura jada, el Calefactor se encenderá.

NOTA: Es normal que el “ventilador” del calefactor funcione durante
aproximadamente 15 segundos después que el calefactor se haya
apagado tras alcanzar la temperatura jada.

IONIZADOR: (Figura 4)

La función de ionizador en este
Calefactor funcionará dentro de
cualquier modo de velocidad. Oprima
el Botón de Ionizador una vez para
encender esta función y una segunda
vez para apagarla. El Calefactor debe
estar ENCENDIDO para que el ionizador
esté en funcionamiento. Cuando el
ionizador esté encendido, ayudará a la
puricación del aire de la habitación.

Función De Persiana

FUNCIÓN DE PERSIANA:

Este Calefactor posee una persiana en
la parrilla frontal superior que permite el
ajuste vertical del ujo de aire. Deslice
el control de la persiana hacia arriba o
hacia abajo para ajustar el ujo de aire
a voluntad.

CONTROL REMOTO:

Todas las funciones ejecutadas con el Control Remoto funcionan
idénticamente a los controles manuales.(Figura 6)

1. Instale las dos baterías “AAA” provistas.

2. No mezcle baterías viejas y nuevas. No mezcle baterías alcalinas,
estándar (carbono-zinc) o recargables (níquel-cadmio).

3. NO SE DESHÁGA DE BATERÍAS EN EL FUEGO. BATERÍAS
PUEDEN ESTALLAR O PUEDEN SALIRSE.
