GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
1. Use this Heater only as described in this manual. Any other use
not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electrical
shock, or injury to persons.
2. Make certain that the power source conforms to the electrical requirements of the Heater.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any Heater is used by or
near children or invalids and whenever the Heater is left operating unattended.
4. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounded plug
that must be inserted into a matching receptacle. Under no circumstances should the ground prong be cut off the plug. Where
a two-prong wall receptacle is encountered, it must be replaced
with a properly grounded three-prong receptacle installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes and ordinances. This work must be done by a
qualified electrician, using copper wires only.
WARNING: DO NO T USE A THREE-PRONG ADAPTER. IM-
PROPER CONNECTION MAY CAUSE THIS RISK OF ELECTROCUTION. USE OF SUCH ADAPTERS IS NOT PERMITTED
IN CANADA.
5. Where possible, av oid the use of extension cords because the e xtension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire. If they must be
used, minimize the risk of overheating by ensuring that they are
UL listed, a minimum No. 14 A WG, r ated not less than 1875 watts.
Never use a single e xtension cord to operate more than one Heater.
6. Do not operate any Heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the
Heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
Return Heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical
or mechanical adjustment or repair.
7. Unplug power cord before servicing or moving the Heater . Always
unplug Heater when not in use.
WARNING: DO NOT DEPEND ON THE ON/OFF SWITCH AS THE
SOLE MEANS OF DISCONNECTING POWER WHEN SERVICING
OR MOVING THE HEA TER. AL W A YS UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
8. Do not insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may cause an electric shock or fire,
or damage the Heater. Do not block or tamper with the Heater in
any manner while it is in operation.
9. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intak es or exhaust in any
manner. Do not place on soft surfaces , like a bed, where openings
may become blocked.
10.Always place the Heater on a stable, flat, lev el surface when operating, to
avoid the chance of the Heater overturning. Locate the P o wer Cord so
the Heater or other objects are not resting on it. Do not run P ower Cord

under carpeting. Do not cover P ower Cord with throw rugs, runners, or
the like. Arrange Power Cord away from room tr affic and where it will
not be tripped over.
11. This Heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare
skin touch hot surfaces. Always use handles when moving this
Heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows,
bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from
the front of the Heater and keep them at least 1 foot (0.3 m) from
the sides and rear.
12.A Heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. It must NOT
be used in potentially dangerous locations such as flammable,
explosive, chemical-laden or wet atmospheres. This Heater is
intended for general use ONLY.
13. This Heater is not intended for use in wet or damp locations.
Never locate a Heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other
water container.
14. Do not use Heater outdoors.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
OPERATION (FIGURE 1)
1. Carefully remove the Heater from the carton and the plastic bag.
2. Make certain the Heater is in the OFF (0) position before plugging
the unit into the electrical outlet.
3. Place your Heater on a firm and level surface.
4. Plug your Heater into a 120V electrical outlet.
5. The HEATING LIGHT will be lit when the unit it turned on.
6. Turn the POWER KNOB to the desired heat setting, (1) for LOW
(750 WATTS) and (2) for HIGH (1500 WATTS). For best results,
start on HIGH (2) when initially star ting the unit.
7. Turn the THERMOSTAT KNOB to (
thermostat instructions.
CAUTION: GRILL TOP IS HOT WHEN UNIT IS IN OPERATION. DO NOT TOUCH HOT SURFACES.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
THERMOSTAT INSTRUCTIONS (FIGURE 2)
1.Allow the Heater to warm up the room before setting
the thermostat.
2. When the desired temperature is reached, lower the thermostat until the HEATING light turns off. This is done by turning
the THEROMSTAT KNOB towards the ( ).
3. The Heater will now automatically maintain the set temperature
by cycling the unit on and off. To prevent the Heater from
cycling, adjust the thermostat.
4. To adjust the thermostat, turn the THERMOSTAT KNOB towards the (

WARNING: AL WA YS UNPLUG THE CORD BEFORE MO VING OR
SERVICING.
DO NOT IMMERSE HEATER IN WATER.
CLEANING: IMPORTANT! Clean the Heater grill with the vacuum
brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner . This will remo ve lint and
dirt from the inside of the Heater. Clean the body of the Heater with
a soft cloth. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE HEATER APART.
CAUTION: Do not use gasoline, benzine, thinner, harsh cleansers, etc. as they will damage the Heater. NEVER use ALCOHOL
OR SOLVENTS.
SERVICING: All other servicing, with the e xception of general usermaintenance, should be performed by an authorized service
representative. Call 1-800-233-0268,Monday through Friday,
between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST for the location of your
nearest service center.
STORAGE: Store the Heater with these instructions in the original
carton in a cool, dry place.
SAFETY FEATURES
1. A thermal overload protector is built in this unit to prevent
overheating.
2. When an overheat temperature is reached, the Heater will automatically be shut off and the red CAUTION LIGHT will be lit. It can
only resume operation when the unit is reset. (See Reset Instructions Below)
To Reset Heater:
1. Unplug the Heater and wait 5-10 minutes for the unit to cool down.
2. Inspect for objects on or adjacent to the Heater that may have
caused high temperatures.
2. After the 5-10 minutes, plug the unit in again and operate normally.
LIMITED W ARRANTY
SHOULD ACCESSORY PARTS BE NEEDED, CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FOR IN-WARRANTY REPLACEMENT PARTS. A
COPY OF PROOF-OF-PURCHASE MUST BE INCLUDED ALONG WITH THE TYPE AND STYLE, WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE
BOTTOM OF YOUR APPLIANCE.
This product is warranted for three years from the date of purchase against defects in workmanship and/or materials. At our option, parts
that prove to be defective will either be repaired or replaced or the whole product will be replaced.
Should electrical or mechanical repair become necessary during the warranty period, send your complete product, postage or freight prepaid to the nearest service center. Call the number below for the service station nearest you.
Should a part need replacement, you must give us the type and style of your appliance. You will find this at the bottom of the appliance. In
either case, a copy of your proof-of-purchase is requested.
This warranty does not apply if the damage occurs because of accident, improper handling or operation, shipping damage, abuse, misuse,
unauthorized repairs made or attempted, of the use of the product for commercial service.

INFORMACIÓN GENERAL DE SEGURIDAD
1. Utilice este Calefactor únicamente de la manera descrita en
este manual. Cualquier otro uso no recomendado por el
fabricante podría ocasionar un incendio, un choque eléctrico o
lesiones personales.
2. Asegúrese de que la fuente de alimentación cumpla con los
requerimientos eléctricos del Calefactor.
3. Se debe tener sumo cuidado cuando un Calefactor sea usado
por o cerca de niños o personas minusválidas, y cuando el
Calefactor funcione desatendido.
4. Este apar ato tiene la clavija polarizada (un diente es más ancho
que el otro). Esta cla vija está diseñada para ser insertada en un
tomacorriente polar de una sola forma a fin de reducir el riesgo
de choque eléctrico. Si la clavija no encaja totalmente en el
tomacorriente, dele vuelta. Si aun así no encaja, consulte a un
técnico electricista. No trate de modificar estas características
de seguridad.
4. El cable eléctrico está equipado con un enchufe para tierra con
tres espigas que debe insertarse en un tomacorriente adecuado.
Bajo ninguna circunstancia debe cortarse la espiga de tierra del
enchufe. En caso de haber tomacorr ientes de pared para dos
espigas, deben reemplazarse con tomacorrientes para tierra con
tres espigas, de acuerdo con el Código Nacional de Electricidad
de los EUA (NEC) y con todos los códigos y ordenanzas locales.
Este trabajo debe ser realizado por un electricista calificado,
usando exclusivamente alambres de cobre.
ADVERTENCIA: NO USE UN ADAPTADOR DE TRES

5. Evite el uso de extensiones siempre que sea posible, ya que
pueden sobrecalentarse y presentar un riesgo de incendio. Si es
necesario usarlas, reduzca al mínimo el riesgo de
sobrecalentamiento asegurándose de que estén certificadas por
UL, que sean de calibre 14 AWG como mínimo y que tengan una
capacidad nominal de por lo menos 1875 watts. Nunca use una
sola extensión para conectar más de un Calefactor.
6. No use ningún Calefactor que tenga el cable o la clavija dañados
ni después de que el Calefactor haya presentado averías, se
haya caído o haya sido dañado de cualquier manera. Lleve el
Calefactor a un centro de servicio autorizado para su revisión,
ajuste eléctrico/mecánico o reparación.
7. Desenchufe el cable antes de trasladar o dar servicio al Calefactor.
Siempre desenchufe el Calefactor cuando no esté en uso.

AL CALEFACTOR. SIEMPRE DESENCHUFE EL CABLE.
8. No inserte ni permita la introducción de los dedos o de objetos
extraños en cualquier abertura de ventilación o escape ya podría
ocasionar un choque eléctrico o un incendio, o dañar el Calefactor .
No obstruya ni intervenga en el funcionamiento del Calefactor
de ninguna manera mientras esté encendido.
9. No obstruya las entradas y salidas de aire de ninguna manera
para evitar la posibilidad de que ocurra un incendio. No coloque
el aparato sobre superficies suaves, como una cama, en donde
las aberturas pudieran quedar obstruidas.
10.Siempre coloque el Calefactor sobre una superficie plana,
nivelada y estable durante el uso para e vitar que se vuelque .
Acomode el cable de tal manera que ni el Calefactor ni ningún
otro objeto le pasen por encima. No pase el cab le por debajo
de la alfombra. No cubra el cable con ninguna alfombrilla,
tapete, ni cosa parecida. Coloque el cable lejos de las zonas
de mayor movimiento dentro de la habitación y donde nadie
pueda tropezarse.
11.Este Calefactor se calienta cuando está en uso. No permita que
la piel desnuda entre en contacto con las superficies calientes
para evitar quemaduras. Siempre use la manija para trasladar
este Calefactor. Mantenga los materiales combustibles, tales
como muebles, almohadas, ropa de cama, papeles, ropa y
cortinas, por lo menos a 3 pies (0.9 m) de distancia de la parte
delantera del Calefactor y al menos 1 pie (0.3 m) de distancia de
los costados y de la parte posterior.
12.Los calefactores contienen piezas calientes que generan arcos
voltaicos o chispas. NO deben usarse en lugares potencialmente
peligrosos, tales como atmósferas inflamables, explosivas,
húmedas o que contengan productos químicos. Este Calefactor
está diseñado para uso general ÚNICAMENTE.
13.Este Calefactor no debe usarse en lugares mojados ni húmedos.
Nunca coloque el Calefactor en un lugar donde exista el riesgo
de que se caiga al interior de una tina u otro recipiente con agua.
14. No utilice el Calefactor a la intemperie.
