ELEMENTOS DE SEGURIDAD
1. Un Interruptor de Seguridad Basculante está incorporado
para evitar el funcionamiento si el Calefactor se cae.
2. Hay un protector de sobrecarga térmica incorporado para
evitar el sobrecalentamiento.
3. Cuando se alcanza una temperatura de sobrecalentamiento,
el Calefactor se apagará automáticamente. Sólo podrá
retomar el funcionamiento cuando el usuario reinicie la unidad.
Para Reiniciar el Calefactor:
1. Desconecte el Calefactor y espere 10 minutos hasta que la
Unidad se enfríe.
2. Después que el Calefactor se haya enfriado, conecte la
unidad a un tomacorriente eléctrico de 120V~ y siga las
instrucciones de funcionamiento descriptas en este manual.
MANTENIMIENTO
Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico e incendio por favor obedezca las siguientes instrucciones.
Limpiar el Calefactor regularmente ayudará a mantener su eciencia.
CONSEJOS DE SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
Si su calefactor se apaga inesperadamente o no funciona, el
elementos de seguridad arriba mencionado podría haber sido
activado para evitar el sobrecalentamiento.
1. Asegúrese que el cable eléctrico esté conectado a un
tomacorriente eléctrico en funcionamiento.
2. Verique la posición de su Termostato. El Calefactor puede
haberse apagado por haber alcanzado la posición de
temperatura deseada.

This Heater is for residential use only.
- Siempre desconecte el cable eléctrico antes de mover, reparar o limpiar.
- NUNCA coloque el Calefactor dentro de o cerca de agua. NO SUMERJA EL CALEFACTOR EN AGUA
- Limpie el Calefactor solamente con una aspiradora equipada con un accesorio de cepillo; la aspiradora
quitará el polvo y los desperdicios del interior del Calefactor.
- Aspire las parrillas de entrada cada dos semanas; esto ayudará a mantener el rendimiento óptimo del calefactor.
- Use un cepillo de dientes u otro cepillo de cerdas suaves para aojar suavemente cualquier polvo que no haya sido
retirado por la aspiradora
- NUNCA intente desarmar el Calefactor.
- Limpie el cuerpo del Calefactor únicamente con un trapo suave.
- NUNCA use ALCOHOL o SOLVENTES tales como gasolina, bencina, disolvente de pinturas u otros
limpiadores duros.
REPARACIONES: Toda otra reparación, con excepción del mantenimiento general del usuario, debe ser realizada por un representante autorizado de
reparaciones. Llame al 1-800-233-0268, de lunes a viernes, entre las 8 a.m. y las 5 p.m. EST para conocer la ubicación de su centro de reparaciones más cercano.
ALMACENAMIENTO: Almacene el Calefactor con estas instrucciones en la caja original en un lugar fresco y seco.

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of re, electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following:
Read all instructions before using this Heater.
1. DO NOT PLUG HEATER INTO ANY OTHER CORD CONNECTED DEVICE, SUCH AS A POWER STRIP, SURGE PROTECTOR, MUL-
TIPLE OUTLET ADAPTER, CORD REEL OR OUTLET-TYPE AIR FRESHENER. THE USE OF SUCH DEVICES MAY CREATE A FIRE
HAZARD. PLUG UNIT DIRECTLY INTO A 120V WALL OUTLET ONLY.
2. AVOID THE USE OF EXTENSION CORDS BECAUSE THE EXTENSION CORD MAY OVERHEAT AND CAUSE A RISK OF FIRE.
HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE TO USE AN EXTENSION CORD, MINIMIZE THE RISK OF OVERHEATING BY USING THE SHORTEST
CORD POSSIBLE AND BY ENSURING THAT IT IS UL LISTED. THE CORD SHALL BE A 3-WIRE, GROUNDING TYPE, WITH NO. 14
AWG MINIMUM SIZE AND RATED NOT LESS THAN 1875 WATTS (15A). NEVER USE A SINGLE EXTENSION CORD TO OPERATE
MORE THAN ONE HEATER. NEVER USE A CORD REEL.
WARNING: Faulty wall outlet connections may cause the wall outlet to overheat. Be sure that heater plug fits tightly into outlet be-
fore each use. During use, check to make certain the Heater plug is not overheating. If necessary have a qualied electrician check
and/or replace the wall outlet.
3. Use this Heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause re, electrical shock, or injury
to persons.
4. Make certain that the room is equipped with a working smoke detector.
5. Make certain that the power source conforms to the electrical requirements of the Heater.
6. Extreme caution is necessary when any Heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the Heater is left operating
unattended.
7. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt
to defeat this safety feature.
8. Do not operate any Heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the Heater malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Please
contact Customer Service at 800-233-0268 Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm EST for assistance.
9. To disconnect Heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
10. Always unplug Heater when not in use. Unplug power cord before servicing or moving the Heater.
DO NOT DEPEND ON THE ON/OFF SWITCH AS THE SOLE MEANS OF DISCONNECTING POWER WHEN SERVICING OR MOVING
THE HEATER. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. ALWAYS TURN OFF AND UNPLUG HEATER BEFORE LEAVING THE AREA.
NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED WHEN THE HEATER IS ON OR PLUGGED IN.
11. Do not insert or allow ngers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may cause an electric shock, re, or damage the
Heater. Do not block or tamper with the Heater in any manner while it is in operation.
12. To prevent a possible re, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not place on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
13. Always place the Heater on a stable, at, level surface when operating, to avoid the chance of the Heater overturning. Locate the Power Cord so
the Heater or other objects are not resting on it. DO NOT run Power Cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover Power Cord with throw rugs, runners,
or the like. Arrange Power Cord away from room trafc and where it will not be tripped over.
14. This Heater is HOT when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Always use handle when moving this Heater. Keep
combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the Heater and keep
them at least 1 foot (0.3 m) from the sides and rear.
15. A Heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. DO NOT use the Heater in areas where gasoline, paint, or ammable liquids are used or
stored. DO NOT use Heater in locations where ammable or explosive chemicals are stored, or in wet atmospheres. This Heater is intended for
general use ONLY.
16. This Heater is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. This Heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor
locations. NEVER locate a Heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
17. DO NOT use Heater outdoors.
18. Remote controls for other appliances or electronic equipment can sometimes interfere with the operation of this Heater. If this occurs, move the
Heater to another location.
19. Keep Heater remote control unit away from chairs and your bed where it may be sat or laid upon and inadvertently turn on the Heater
20. This Heater may include an audible or visual alarm to warn that parts of the Heater are getting excessively hot. If the alarm sounds or ashes, immediately turn the Heater off and inspect for any objects on or adjacent to the Heater that may cause high temperatures. DO NOT OPERATE
THE HEATER WITH THE ALARM SOUNDING OR FLASHING.
21. This Heater is not suitable for use in agricultural facilities including areas where livestock, poultry or other animals are conned. Please refer to
National Electric Code (NEC) Article 547-7 (2002), or applicable state or local codes or standards relating to electrical requirements for Agricultural Buildings. THIS HEATER DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF NEC ARTICLE 547-7 (2002).
22 This Heater is not suitable for use in hazardous locations. Please refer to National Electric Code (NEC) Article 500 or applicable state or local
codes or standards relating to electrical requirements for Hazardous locations. THIS HEATER DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIRE-

OPERACIÓN
Este Calefactor puede operarse mediante los controles manuales
ubicados en el Calefactor (como se indica en la Figura 1) o mediante
su control remoto (como se indica en la Figura 3).
1. Cuidadosamente retire el Calefactor de la bolsa y de la caja.
2. Coloque el Calefactor sobre una supercie rme y plana.
CUIDADO: Los tacos de plástico o hule, tales como las patas
de esta unidad, pueden pegarse a la supercie de los muebles y/o
a los pisos de madera. La unidad podría dejar un residuo capaz de
oscurecer, manchar o dejar marcas permanentes en el acabado de
ciertas supercies de muebles, incluyendo supercies de madera y/o
pisos de madera.
3. Conecte el cable a un tomacorriente de 120 voltios.

Cuando los enchufes quedan flojos dentro de
los tomacorrientes, podrían deslizarse parcial o
completamente fuera del tomacorriente con el menor
movimiento del cable adosado. Los tomacorrientes en
este estado podrían sobrecalentarse y representar un
peligro de incendio grave; si queda cubierto por una
cortina o tela, el peligro de incendio es todavía mayor.
4. Al enchufar inicialmente el Calefactor, se encenderá la luz
indicadora roja, señalando que la unidad está energizada. La
luz roja permanecerá encendida hasta que se desenchufe el
Calefactor del tomacorriente.
5. Encienda el Calefactor al oprimir el Botón De Encendido
(Power). (Figura 1)
6. Cuándo prendió inicialmente, la Calentadora demostrará la
temperatura actual del Espacio en º Fahrenheit. Apriete el ( ) y
( ) los botones al mismo tiempo hasta que el despliegue reeje
º Centígrado. Apretar los mismos botones otra vez cambiarán la
espalda del despliegue a º Fahrenheit.
7. La unidad visualizará la temperatura “Room” (ambiente) actual. Al
encender el Calefactor, la unidad estará en el modo de calefacción
High (alto). (1500 vatios)
8. Si oprime el Botón De Mode (modo) en este momento, el
Calefactor funcionará en el modo de calefacción Low (bajo) (900
vatios)
9. Si oprime una vez más el Botón De Mode (Modo), el Calefactor
funcionará en el modo AUTO (automático). La pantalla ahora
visualiza un indicador de temperatura SET (ja). (Véase las
Instrucciones del Termostato)
10.Para girar la Calentadora LEJOS, apretar el Botón De
Encendido ( ) y quitar la unidad de la salida eléctrica. La
Calentadora repondrá a º Fahrenheit después que para ser
quitado.
Función Oscilante:
Esta función opera en cualquier modo. Si oprime el Botón De
Oscilante (OSC) el Calefactor podrá oscilar de un costado al otro.
Para detener la oscilación, oprima nuevamente el Botón De Oscilante
(OSC).
Función Temporizadora:
Esta función operará en cualquier modo. La función temporizadota
permite jar los intervalos de operación de 1 a 8 horas. Si oprime el
Botón De Temporizador (TIMER), aumentará el tiempo de operación
a intervalos de 1 hora cada uno cada vez que oprima el botón. Una
vez jado el temporizador, éste contará las horas en forma regresiva
en intervalos de 1 hora, indicando el tiempo de operación restante
en la pantalla, hasta que el Calefactor se apague solo. Si oprime
una vez más el Botón De Temporizado (TIMER) después de que la
pantalla indique 8 horas, reiniciará el Calefactor para que funcione
en forma continua.

INSTRUCCIONES DEL TERMOSTATO
(Figura 2)
1. Oprima el Botón Be MODE hasta que la pantalla indique AUTO.
2. Para ajustar la temperatura SET, prima el ( ) para aumentar
la temperatura deseada y el ( ) para disminuir la temperatura
deseada.
3. Cuando la temperatura ambiente alcance 3 grados por encima de
la temperatura SET, el Calefactor dejará de funcionar.
4. Cuando la temperatura ambiente alcance 3 grados por debajo de
la temperatura SET, el Calefactor empezará a funcionar.
Nota: Es normal que el Calefactor se encienda y apague en forma
alternada mientras mantiene la temperatura SET.

CONTROL REMOTO (Figura 3)
Todas las funciones ejecutadas con el Control Remoto funcionan
idénticamente a los controles manuales.
1. Instale las dos baterías “AAA” provistas.
2. No mezcle baterías viejas y nuevas. No mezcle baterías alcalinas,
estándar (carbono-zinc) o recargables (níquel-cadmio).
3. NO SE DESHÁGA DE BATERÍAS EN EL FUEGO. BATERÍAS
PUEDEN ESTALLAR O PUEDEN SALIRSE.
