Media Compatibility
Si n c e t h e B l u -ray Disc specifications are new and evolving, some discs may not play properly depending on the disc type, version and encoding. It is possible that a Blu-ray disc manufactured after the player was manufactured uses certain new features of the Blu-ray Disc speci f i cat i ons. Connecon your BLU-BD3000 player
Connecon Power
Connect the power plug from the player to a mains power outlet and then turn the switch on.
Check the power LED on the front panel of the player. It should now be RED.
Video and component input
Audio from the BLU-BD3000 can be played through a connected television or through a 2.1 or 5.1 channel speaker system or even a full home theatre surround sound system.

- Select the AV Channel on the TV which corresponds to the video input. E.g. AV1, AV2 etc.
- This will allow video from the player to show on the connected television.
NOTE: The STEREO AUDIO OUT terminals will always provide a down-mixed stereo signal from mul-cha
nnel sources. The “Down Mix” and other speaker sengs in the Audio Setup
do not aect the STEREO AUDIO OUT.

Plug the COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO Cable in to the COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT on the player and plug the other end in to the COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO Cable input on the television or Home Theatre system.

NOTE: If you have connected the BLU-BD3000 to a Home Theatre System using the Coaxial Digital Audio cable or the 5.1 Audio Cables you may need to also connect the RCA Stereo Connecon to your TV to allow Audio to be heard through the TV when it is not conv
enient
to have the Home Theatre System turned on. Combinaons of Audio and Video Connecons are possible depending on the equipment the player is to be connected to. Please refer to the equipment user manual to determine the method or combinaon that best suits your needs.

HDM I can t ransmi t both audio and video signals over a single cable. If you have an HDMI capable receiver t hat can suppor t HDMI audi o, you can simply run an HDMI cabl e f rom t he player to your receiver and enable HDMI audio on the receiver (see your receiver’s owners’ manual for more information). The receiver usually has an HDMI output that you can connect t o your TV t o pass t he video signal .
HDM I i s a wonderf ul t hing. A singl e cabl e can t ranspor t bot h audi o AND video f rom your player to your display. Be aware, however, that HDMI is an evolving standard, and there coul d be compat i bil i t y i ssues. A recei ver t hat suppor ts audi o i nput over HDM I is requi red.

In order to play multi-chan nel a udi o f or al l f or mat s, t he r ecei ver must suppor t HDM I v1.1 or later. For Blu-ray Disc, a receiver that support s HDMI v1.3 with decoding capability for Dolby Tr ueHD and DTS-HD M a st er Aud io i s p r ef err ed . Please check t h e sp eci f ica t i ons of your receiver to ensure that it meets the requirements.
Due t o bandwi dt h li mi tat ions, hi gh resolut ion audio f ormat s such as Dolby Digit al Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Hi gh Resolut i on and DTS-HD M ast er Au di o canno t be sen t t h r ou gh the coaxial digital audio output. A reduced resolution version of the same audio track will be output instead. To listen to high resolution audio formats in their best qualit y, please use the HDM I connect ion if you have a receiver that handles HDMI audio.
Due t o copyri ght rest ri ct i ons and bandw idt h limi tat ions, f ul l resol uti on audio f rom DVDAudio discs cannot be sent through the coaxial or optical digital audio output. To listen to DVD­Audi o in f ull resolut ion, please use the HDMI or analogue audio connections.

Internet/Network connecon

The BLU-BD3000 Blu-Ray Disc Player supports the BD-Live™ feature oered on some Blu-ray Disc tles. BD-Live™ oers extra downloadable content and addional online interacve programs. The available BD-Live™ contents vary by discs and studios, and may include addional subtles, commentaries, movie trailers, games, and/or on
line chat.
Connecng the player to the Internet will also allow the player to obtain rmware updates via the Internet. In order to uize the BD-Live™ feature or update rmware via the Internet, the player needs to be connected to a broadband Internet connecon. You must have access to a working broadband Internet service connecon. It is not necessary to connect to the Internet if you do not intend to use BD-Live™.
Broadband Router/Modem
Plug an Ethernet cable (Category 5/5E straight Ethernet cable) into the ETHERNET PORT on the rear of the player and plug the other end in to a spare port on a router, switch or modem with an internet connecon.
For most home network setups the BLU-BD3000 will connect automacally. Please check the sengs as shown in the main menu described later in this manual.

the operang instrucons supplied with the broadband router or modem, or
contact your
Internet service provider for quesons related to seng up the router or
modem.

Insert the USB drive (or cable) into the USB port on the front of the player.
If the drive is to be used for BD-Li v e ™ cont ent it is accessed t hrough the main menu of t he Bl u-ray discs when played.

NOTE: Th e USB p o r t s a r e r a t ed t o p r o v i d e a ma xi m u m o f 5 V , 5 00 m A p o w e r t o t h e U SB d r i v e . It is sufficient for all USB thumb drives and flash memory card readers, but may not be suf f i cient f or USB h ard di sks. I t i s r ecom mended t ha t you use a USB hard di sk wi t h an ext ernal power supply.
Th i s u ni t suppo r t s “ USB M a ss St or age Cl ass Bu l k-On l y Tr a n sp o r t ” d e vi c es only. Most USB thumbs drives, portable hard disk drives and card readers conform to this device class. Other USB devices such as MP3 player s, di git al cameras, and mobil e phones may not be compati bl e.

In some cases, an incompatible USB device may cause the player to stop responding. If this occurs simply turn off the power, remove the USB devi ce, and t urn t he player back on.

Playing a Disk
With t he player setup it is time t o play a disc in t he BLU-BD3000 pl ay er .

If the Disc does not begin playback automatically press the PLAY button on the remote or the remote controller or on the player.
Use t he LEFT , R I G H T , U P and DOWN navigation buttons on the remote to navigate t he Disc menu and press the En t e r button to confirm the selection.

Note: Not all opt ions on t he remote cont rol wil l be available on all discs. Some opt ions require the content of information to be available on the disc itself to work. Please refer to the Disc case to determine available features or options on the disc.

Advanced Playing Operaon
The downloaded content is saved in BUDA specied memory. If the specied memory doesn’t have sucient space, please select “Format” in “BUDA Info” item to release the storage space, but the downloaded content may be lost. When use BD-LIVE funcon, the user shall connect external USB disk, make sure the available space is at least 1GB, and select Extern
al device in System – BUDA – BUDA Setup.

DLNA Network M edia Player
Visit t he f i le share server and DLNA server in t he Internet connect ed by t he player. Th i s pl ayer can pl ay vi deos, m u si c an d pi ct u r es i n devi ces conn ect i n g t o t h e sam e Int er n et of the player remotely. You only need hardware, like comput er or NAS ser ver , with sof t war e acti ng as DLNA, SM B or CIFS. In som e cases, you maybe need to disable the firewall of the hardware so that the player can access the ser v er . Not e: LAN connect ion is r equired.
The player can sha r e Internet through one of these three ways:
- As digital media player (DMP): the player can sear ch , visit , extract resource from local media ser ver su bj ect i vel y, which equals to DLNA.
- As digital media renderer(DMR): the player plays resource pushed from digital media cont r oller(DMC). In this case, media ser ver with DM C function is required. Fo r more information of set t in gs and manipulation, please check the instruction books of relevant ser ver s.
- Visit i ng SM B / CI F S client si de: t he player can read files shar ed by cli ent side directly through Internet, just like visit ing external USB st or age device. Most comput ers, especially those installed WINDOWS syst em , have got SM B client side al ready.

In order to prolong the ser vi ce li f e of yo ur pl ayer, it i s recommended to wait at least 30 seconds before you turn it on again af t er swi tchi ng i t off. Re m o v e d isc an d t u r n power off after operat ion. So m e f u n c t i ons of the player may not be appli cable t o cert ain discs.
So m e d i s c s w i t h s pecial f eat ur es m ay not be fully supported by the player. This is not a malfunct ion of the unit. In case of player malfunct ion, please t ur n i t off, wait for 30 seco nds and t urn it back on.
