RML-8
POWER
1. The charger will have a green indicator light when the battery is fully charged.
Note: While the charger is intelligent enough to back off the charger when the battery is fully
charged, it is not recommended that you leave the light on the charger indefinitely. Ultimately,
the heat created by the charger and the battery will ultimately degrade the components.
Leaving the battery charging for a day is not a big deal, but leaving the battery charging for
weeks or indefinitely will degrade the life of the charger and the battery.
2. The charger will have a solid red indicator light when the battery is charging.
3. Charging time will vary based on the battery’s condition. Maximum charge time is 4 hours.
4. You can run the spotlight from the charger when it is plugged into the wall. While the spotlight
will run, the battery will not charge in this state.
5. This spotlight has a lithium ion battery. You can charge this battery as little or as much as you
like without “memory” issues.
6. Lithium ion batteries generally will discharge very slowly on the shelf. You can expect a fully
charged battery to last 9‐12 months on the shelf if fully charged when stored.
BEAM ADJUSTMENT
The lens/reflector assembly is threaded onto the center post. Rotating the lens/reflector causes
the beam to expand or contract. Counterclockwise rotation creates a wider flood. Clockwise
rotation creates a narrower, longer spot beam.
The lens/reflector assembly can be removed completely to change to the red lens or while
changing the bulb.
REPLACING THE BULB
This spotlight takes a standard H-3 bulb and can be purchased through most automotive stores, or
through our website.
(Part Number HL-8X-SB)
Remove the lens/reflector assembly by rotating counterclockwise until fully unthreaded. Pull the
assembly out away from the light to remove.
Unscrew the ring holding the bulb in place. The bulb will fall loose.
Remove the 4 screws holding the top cover in place.
Disconnect the bullet connector holding the white wire to the light.
Pull the bulb loose from the front of the light.
Insert new bulb, white wire first and connect the bullet connector
Replace the top cover and 4 securing screws.
Place flat plate of bulb into mounting hole.
Replace chrome ring and tighten into place.
Ensure that the bulb has seated flush against the plate and there is no gap between the chrome
ring and the shaft.

CHANGING THE BATTERY
The battery is not designed to be “swapped out” in the field. It can be done, but it is not designed like a
cordless drill, where you just snap it in and out.
1. Remove the 4 screws holding the top cover in place on the rear of the main housing. This is the
squared section. The 4 screws can be seen when you turn the light upside down. Once the top
cover is removed, you will see the battery pack.
2. The battery pack consists of 6 cells welded together. A single Molex style connector brings
power from the battery to the bulb. Disconnect this connector and remove the battery pack as a
whole. Double sided tape secures the battery pack. Be sure that if the tape has lost its adhesion
that you replace it when you replace the battery pack.
3. Replace the battery pack, reconnect the power and replace the top cover.
Lithium ion batteries have a very long life. You should not need to replace the battery pack very often.
DETACHABLE CORDS
The cords are detachable by depressing the tab on the top of the connectors. This enables the
operator to leave the cord connected to the power source and remove to store the light.
Additional or replacement cords can be ordered from our website.
*We offer 16 foot coil cords with a cigarette plug (C-16-CC-CP), 21 foot cords with ring terminals (C-21RT), 16 foot cords with battery clamps (C-16-BC), and 16 foot straight cords with cigarette plugs (C-16CP).
