WARNING
To avoid the risk of fire, explosion or electric shock, this product should be installed, inspected and
maintained by a qualified electrician only, in accordance with all applicable electrical codes.
To avoid electric shock:
• Be certain electrical power is OFF before and during installation and maintenance.
• Luminaire must be connected to a wiring system with an equipment-grounding conductor.
To avoid explosion:
• Make sure the supply voltage is within the luminaires’ voltage rating.
• Ensure the marked T rating is less than the ignition temperature of the Hazardous Atmosphere.
• Do not operate in ambient temperatures above those indicated on the luminaire nameplate.
• Do not operate if the lens is cracked or damaged. All fasteners should be properly se ated.
INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect power prior to performing maintenance!
2. Open junction box cover of existing fixture. There are nubs on top cover for opening with a screwdriver,
wrench, or similar tool. Turn cover counter-clockwise to remove.
3. Once the top cover has been removed, pull out the wiring and make note of how they are connected.
4. Disconnect wiring.
5. Unscrew the CGB cord grip from the base of the junction box to remove old cord.
6. Loosen set screw on back of light holding junction box and twist junction box counter-clockwise to
remove from the light fixture.
7. Open top cover of new junction box.
8. Run cord from back of light fixture through new junction box and nipple.
9. Attach junction box to back of light while making sure no wires get twisted.
10. Tighten set screw on back of fixture for the NPT port holding nipple and junction box in place.
11. Make sure CGB cord grip and cord is connected to junction box and tight.
12. Once junction box is installed and cord with cord grip is attached, make all wire connections.
13. Tuck wires into junction box and close top cover by turning clockwise. Make sure there are no wires
protruding or getting pinched when closing top cover.
Ensure all wire connections have been made properly and that all points are closed off and tight before
operating.
WIRING
This unit comes preconfigured with the selected explosion proof cord cap. Run cord from light and plug into
matching receptacle. Follow all applicable local, state, and National Electrical Code for the hazardous area!

MAINTENANCE
Caution: To avoid personal injury, disconnect power to the light and allow the unit to cool down before
performing maintenance.
Warning: No user serviceable parts inside of fixture. Risk of electric shock. Removal of the lens will void
the warranty.
1. Perform visual, mechanical and electrical inspections on a regular basis. We recommend routine
checks to be made on a yearly basis. Frequency of use and environment should determine this. It is
recommended to follow an Electrical Preventive Maintenance Program as described in NFPA 70B:
Recommended practice for Electrical Equipment.
2. The lens should be cleaned periodically as needed to ensure continued photometric performance.
Clean the lens with
cleaner.
3. Inspect the cooling fins on the luminaire to ensure that they are free of any obstructions or
contamination (i.e. excessive dust build-up). Clean with a non-abrasive cloth if needed.
4. Do not operate if the lens is cracked or damaged. All fasteners should be properly se ated.
a damp, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. If not sufficient, use mild soap or a liquid
WARNING: ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY MUST BE “OFF” BEFORE AND DURING INSTALL AT ION
AND MAINTENANCE. INSTALLATION AND MAINT ENANCE PRO CEDURE MUST BE PERF O RMED BY A
TRAINED AND COMPETENT ELECTRICIAN.
If any part of the plug appears to be missing, broken, or show signs of damage—discontinue use immediately!
This condition could cause serious or fatal personal injury due to electrocution and/or equipment damage.
Repair with the proper replacement part(s) before continuing service.
During the inspections, perform the following steps:
1. Inspect all contact wire terminals for tightness and re-torque if necessary. NOT E: Discoloration due to
excessive heat is an indicator of potential issues and should be thoroug hly investigat ed and r epaired as
necessary.
2. Explosion Proof Plugs: Check grounding and bonding for correct installation. Secure connections and
retorque if necessary.
3. Check gaskets for deterioration and replace if necessary.
4. Clean exterior surfaces to ensure the nameplates remain legible.
5. Inspect cable grip tightness to ensure proper cord/cable gripping.
6. Inspect all parts and replace those which are broken or excessively worn.
7. Check the contacts for signs of excessive arcing or burning and replace if necessary.
USE AND CARE
Unauthorized modification may impair the function and/or safety of the extension cord and could affect the life
of the equipment. Always check damaged or worn out parts before using the unit. When extension cord is not
in use, store it in a secure place. Inspect for good working condition prior to storage and before re-use.
