Laplink LAPLINK HOST User Manual

Installing and Using LapLink Host
LapLink Host is a restricted version of LapLink that allows you to support additional computers. The LapLink Tech license agreement allows you to install the full version of LapLink Tech on up to three computers, but you can install LapLink Host on up to five additional computers, provided it is restricted to host use. You can connect to LapLink Host from a full version of LapLink, but LapLink Host cannot open outgoing connections to other computers. See the addendum on the back of this card for further information on conditions of use.
LapLink Host runs on Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0. A version of LapLink Host for Windows 3.1 is also available on the LapLink CD-ROM; for instructions on installing and using that version of LapLink, see the online documentation available on the CD-ROM.
Creating disks to install LapLink Host
To install LapLink Host, you must first create a set of LapLink Host disks from the LapLink CD-ROM.
To create floppy disks for LapLink Host:

ROM.
2. On the Welcome screen, click Create Setup Disks, and then click LapLink Host.
3. Insert floppy disks when prompted. (You will need eight floppy disks.)
Once youve created a set of disks, youre ready to install LapLink Host. You can install LapLink Host from the floppy disks, or you can copy the files from the disks to a single folder on a network and let users install from the network.
