INSTALLATION
RECEIVING THE MODEL SR-18 STOCK POT RANGE
Upon receipt, check for freight damage, both visible and concealed. Visible damage should be
noted on the freight bill at the time of delivery and signed by the carrier's agent. Concealed loss
or damage means loss or damage which does not become apparent until the merchandise has
been unpacked. If concealed loss or damage is discovered upon unpacking, make a written
request for inspection by the carrier's agent within 15 days of delivery. All packing material
should be kept for inspection. Do not return damaged merchandise to Lang Manufacturing
Company. File your claim with the carrier.
Uncrate your Stock Pot Range as near its intended location as practical. The crating will help
protect the unit from the physical damage normally associated with moving it through hallways
and doorways.

The installation of any components such as vent hoods, grease extractors, or fire extinguisher
systems, must conform to their applicable nationally recognized installation standards.

SR-18-8T OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The model SR-18-8T Stock Pot Range is controlled by two thermostats located on the control
panel.
The thermostats control each left and right half of the plate independently of each other. A pilot
lamp, next to each thermostat, glows when it's respective side is heating and will extinguish when
the side reaches its set temperature.
Keep the Stock Pot Range either off or set at a moderate temperature (300°F) when not being
used. This procedure saves energy, keeps your kitchen cooler, and extends the Stock Pot Range's
useful life.
Boiling water is most quickly accomplished by:
1) Starting with hot tap water.
2) Covering stock pots with lids.
3) Placing smaller stock pots ( 9" diameter or less) either on right or left side of plate as the
thermostat sensing device is located in the center of each side.
4) Starting with a pre-heated unit. It should take approximately 1 hour to reach maximum
temperature.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Maintenance of the SR-18-8T Range is simple and straight forward.
A wiring diagram is provided in this manual. Save for future reference. Remove the eight
screws holding the cover on the underside of the unit to gain access. This also exposes the
thermostat, pilot lamps, and terminal block.
The elements are clamped to the underside of the plate in the same fashion as other Lang griddles
and hot tops. In order to gain access to the elements four bolts holding the front and back guard
rails to the body must be removed. Pry the plate up and block in position. Remove the element
pan and zigzag by removing five nuts and washers to expose the elements.
