AirLancer™ Extender O-9a und O-D9a
Installationshinweise
Die Outdoor-Richtfunkantennen AirLancer Extender O-9a und AirLancer
Extender O-D9a eignen sich für den Aufbau von Funkstrecken bis zu
20 km. Sie sind komplett wetterfest und für die Montage an äußeren
Gebäudeteilen (Wand oder Mast) vorgesehen.
Lieferumfang
Bitte prüfen Sie zunächst den Inhalt der Verpackung auf Vollständigkeit,
bevor Sie mit der Installation beginnen. Folgende Komponenten sollte
der Karton für Sie bereithalten:
쮿 AirLancer Extender O-9a bzw. AirLancer Extender O-D9a
쮿 Antennenanschlusskabel (1 m) mit N-Stecker und N-Buchse (2x für
AirLancer Extender O-D9a)
쮿 Anschlussadapter RP-SMA-Stecker auf N-Stecker (2x für AirLancer
Extender O-D9a)
쮿 Zubehör für Wand- und Mastmontage
Sollten Teile fehlen, so wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Händler.
Die Erweiterungsantennen der AirLancer Extender-Serie sind speziell
auf den Betrieb mit LANCOM Wireless Routern und Access Points ausgelegt und dürfen ausschließlich mit den mitgelieferten oder aus den
LANCOM-Zubehörprogramm bestellten Kabeln betrieben werden. Die
Kabel dürfen nur unverändert eingesetzt werden.
Der Betrieb mit unzulässigen Geräten oder Kabeln verletzt
sowohl die öffentlichen Zulassungsvorschriften als auch die
LANCOM Systems-Garantiebedingungen.

Kabel und Stecker schützen
쮿 Ziehen Sie die Kabel nicht an den Steckern durch Kabelführungen
oder Kabelkanäle.
쮿 Belasten Sie die Stecker nicht unnötig, etwa durch das Gewicht der
Kabel. Entlasten Sie die Stecker, indem Sie die Kabel befestigen.
쮿 Achten Sie darauf, dass die Kabel ohne Zugspannung verlegt sind.
쮿 Schützen Sie bei Außenmontage die Verbindungsstecker, indem Sie
sie zusätzlich mit wetterfestem Dichtungsband umwickeln.
쮿 Die Kabel dürfen nicht geknickt oder belastet werden.
Blitzschutz bei Außenantennen verwenden
Für Installationen von Antennen im Außenbereich ist die Verwendung
von geeigneten Überspannungsschutzadaptern erforderlich. Über diese
Adapter werden Außenantennen mit der Blitzschutzanlage des Gebäudes verbunden. Überspannungen und Potentialunterschiede können so
abgeleitet werden, bevor empfindliche Geräte im LAN zerstört werden.
Positionierung und Ausrichtung der Antennen
Um die maximale Sende- und Empfangsleistung einer AirLancer Extender zu erreichen, sollte die Position der Antenne so gewählt sein, dass
sich im Funkbereich möglichst wenige Hindernisse befinden. Hindernisse sollten insbesondere bei Funkbrücken zwischen zwei Punkten
durch geeignete Positionswahl der Antennen vermieden werden. Typische Hindernisse, die die Übertragungsqualität beeinträchtigen, sind
beispielsweise: Gebäude, Bäume und Überlandstromleitungen.
Beachten Sie für die richtige Ausrichtung der Antennen die zugehörige
Abstrahlcharakteristik. Weitere Hinweise zur Ausrichtung der Antennen
mit Hilfe der LANCOM-Software finden Sie im LANCOM WLAN Outdoor
Guide.
Die Außenantennen der Serie AirLancer Extender sollen niemals
direkt auf Menschen oder Tiere gerichtet werden.
Wandmontage
Antennen vom Typ AirLancer Extender O-9a sind vertikal polari-
siert und zur senkrechten Montage vorgesehen.
Montieren Sie die Wandhalterung wie auf der Zeichnung abgebildet.
Gehen Sie dabei in folgender Reihenfolge vor:
햲 Verschrauben Sie den Antennen-Anschluss-Flansch 쐇 behutsam
(max. Drehmoment 5,7 Nm) an der Rückseite der Antenne 쐃. Verwenden Sie dazu die Unterlegscheiben, Federringe und Sechskantmuttern (je 4 Stück M5).
Die Antennenkabel und Verbindungsstecker sind ausschließlich für die
belastungsfreie Verlegung geeignet. Bitte beachten Sie folgende
Regeln:
햳 Befestigen Sie den Montagearm 쐋 am Anten-
nen-Anschluss- Flansch 쐇. Verwenden Sie dazu die Schraube (M8
x 40), Unterlegscheibe, Federring und Sechskantmutter (je 1 Stück

Wandhalter ist nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten.
햵 Verschrauben Sie den Montagearm 쐋 fest (max. Drehmoment 24
Nm) am Anschluss-Flansch für Wand- und Mastmontage 쐏. Verwenden Sie dazu die Schraube (M8 x 40), Unterlegscheibe, Federring und Sechskantmutter (je 1 Stück M8). Die Schraube sollte dabei
von der Seite des Montagearms 쐇 her eingesteckt werden.

Mastmontage
Montieren Sie die Masthalterung wie auf der Zeichnung abgebildet.
Gehen Sie dabei in folgender Reihenfolge vor:

Nm) am Anschluss-Flansch für Wand- und Mastmontage 쐏. Ver-

wenden Sie dazu die Schraube (M8 x 40 oder M8 x 70), Unterlegscheibe, Federring und Sechskantmutter (je 1 Stück M8). Die
Schraube sollte dabei von der Seite des Klemmprofils 쐄 her eingesteckt werden.
Durch das umgekehrte Aufsetzen des Klemmprofils 쐂 und die Wahl
der entsprechenden Schraube kann das gleiche Profil für geringe
und große Maststärken verwendet werden.

Anschluss an den Access Point
Antennen vom Typ AirLancer Extender O-D9a verfügen über zwei
Antennenanschlüsse zur parallelen Übertragung von zwei Datenströmen bei Anschluss an LANCOM 802.11n MIMO Access Points. Die folgende Beschreibung gilt in diesem Fall pro Antennenanschluss.
햲 Zum Anschluss an einen Access Point verbinden Sie zunächst das
eine Ende des mitgelieferten Adapterkabels mit dem AirLancer
Extender SA-5L. Verbinden Sie dann das andere Ende mit dem
Antennen-Ausgang des Access Points.

햳 Zum Anschluss an die Antenne verbinden Sie zunächst das eine
Ende des ausreichend langen Antennenkabels mit dem AirLancer
Extender SA-5L. Verbinden Sie dann das andere Ende des Antennenkabels mit dem Eingang der Antenne. Je nach Art der
Anschlüsse muss dabei ggf. ein Adapter oder Adapterkabel verwendet werden.
Achten Sie bei Montage im Außenbereich auf wasserdichte
Schraubverbindungen. Verwenden Sie ggf. ein Teflonband, ein
selbstvulkanisierendes Band o.ä. zur sicheren Abdichtung.

Installation instructions
The outdoor directional wireless antennas AirLancer Extender O-9a and
AirLancer Extender O-D9a are capable of establishing wireless links over
distances of up to 20 km. They are fully weather proof and designed for
mounting outdoors on walls or masts.
Package content
Before beginning with the installation, you should first check that
nothing is missing from your package. The box should contain the
following components:
쮿 AirLancer Extender O-9a or AirLancer Extender O-D9a
쮿 Antenna connection cable (1m) with N plug and N socket (2x for
AirLancer Extender O-D9a)
쮿 Connection adapter RP-SMA connector to N connector (2x for
AirLancer Extender O-D9a)
쮿 Accessories for wall and mast mounting
If any parts are missing, please refer to your dealer.
The antennas of the AirLancer Extender product line are designed
especially for operation with LANCOM Wireless Routers and access
points and are to be operated exclusively with the cables as supplied or
as available from the LANCOM accessories program. Cables are only to
be used without modification.
The operation of non-approved equipment or cables infringes
both the public licensing regulations and the LANCOM Systems
warranty conditions.

outdoor antennas.

Protect the cable and connectors
The antenna cable and connectors are designed exclusively for
installation without being under load. Please observe the following
guidelines:
쮿 When pulling the cable through cable ducts and channeling, do not
pull on the connectors.
쮿 Do not place unnecessary load on the connectors, such as from the
weight of the cable. Relieve the connectors of load by fixing the
cable.
쮿 Ensure that cables are not under tension after installation.
쮿 In case of outdoor installation, protect the connectors by wrapping
them in waterproof sealing tape.
쮿 Cables are not to be kinked or placed under load.
Use lightning protection for outdoor antennas.
When installing antennas outside, the use of suitable surge-protection
adapters is obligatory. These adapters connect outdoor antennas to the
building's lightning-protection system. Surges and differences in
potential are conducted away before damage can occur to sensitive
equipment in the LAN.
Positioning and aligning antennas
Maximizing the transmission and reception performance of an
AirLancer Extender is enhanced by positioning the antenna in such a
way that the irradiated area is as free as possible from obstructions. In
particular for P2P links between two points, obstructions should be
avoided by positioning the antennas appropriately. Obstructions that
can adversely affect transmission quality include: Buildings, trees and
cross-country electrical transmission lines.
When aligning the antennas it is important to consider the associated
radiation characteristics. Further information about lining up antennas
with the help of LANCOM software can be found in the LANCOM WLAN
Outdoor Guide.
Outdoor antennas of the AirLancer Extender product line should
never be directed towards people or animals.
Wall mounting
Antennas of the type AirLancer Extender O-9a are vertically
polarized and are intended for vertical mounting.
Mount the wall bracket as shown in the diagram. Proceed as follows:
햴 Carefully screw the antenna connector flange 쐇 (max. torque 5.7
Nm) to the rear of the antenna 쐃. Use the washers, locking
washers and hexagonal nuts (4 of each, M5) for this.
햵 Fix the mounting arm 쐋 to the antenna connector flange 쐇. Use
the screw (M8 x 40), washer, locking washer and hexagonal nut (1

Pole mounting
Mount the mast bracket as shown in the diagram. Proceed as follows:

This profile can be used for masts of different diameters by

appropriate screw.

Connecting to the access point
Antennas of the AirLancer Extender O-D9a model feature two antenna
connectors for the parallel transmission of two data streams in
combination with a LANCOM 802.11n MIMO Access Point. In this case,
the following description applies to each of the antenna connectors.
햲 When connecting to an Access Point you first connect one end of
the supplied cable to the AirLancer Extender SA-5L. Then connect
the other end to the Access Point's antenna output.

햳 For connection to the antenna, first connect the end of the antenna
cable (making sure that this is long enough) to the AirLancer
Extender SA-5L. Then connect the other end of the antenna cable
to the antenna's input. You may require an adapter or adapter cable
depending on the type of connector.
When mounting outdoors, ensure that the screw connections
are waterproof. A secure seal will be provided by teflon tape or
self-vulcanizing tape, for instance.
