Test Procedure
1. Fill the tube (0715) to the 5 mL line
with the sample water.
2. Add three drops of *Chloride Reagent #1
(4504) to sample. Swirl to mix. Solution
will turn yellow.
3. Holding *Salt Titrant (3741LWT) in a
vertical position, add one drop at a time,
swirling to mix, until the color changes
from yellow to milky orange. Count the
number of drops required to reach the
final color. Add titrant slowly, allowing
each drop to form fully on the tip before
dispensing. Rapid titration with
incomplete drops will result in
erroneous high readings.
4. Multiply number of drops used
by 200. Record result as ppm salt
(sodium chloride).
Salt Titrant will stain. Avoid contact with
*
skin. Place tip of titrant bottle well into
titration tube while dispensing.
Store the kit at room temperature.
