ASSEMBLING THE PRESS AND CHOP AND USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Unpack the Press and Chop, remove all the packaging materials.
• Before first use, wipe the motor with a clean damp cloth.
• Wash the lid, blade and bowl in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. These parts are dishwasher safe.
• The blade is sharp, when washing by hand, hold by the plastic spindle and clean with a brush.
• Make sure that all parts are clean and dry before assembling the product.
Warning: Do not insert the plug into a socket, or turn on the Press and Chop before you have fully assembled it.
• Place the non-slip base on a flat surface near a socket. Press the bowl into the base.
• Take the blade by the plastic spindle and slot the hole underneath onto the pin inside the bowl. Always hold the blade by the plastic spindle.
• With the lid handle facing upwards, put the lid on top of the bowl. The hole in the lid will fit over the blade spindle. Press down gently until it is in place and seals the bowl, do not use force.
• Sit the motor on top, inside the handle.
• The Press and Chop is now ready to use.
7
Add your ingredients to the bowl, make sure there’s a minimum of 100ml/100 grams inside the bowl and do not fill beyond the ‘MAX’ mark (500ml). Overfilling the bowl can disengage the blade and damage the appliance.
• With the lid handle facing upwards, put the lid on top of the bowl. The hole in the lid will fit over the blade spindle. Press down gently until it is in place and seals the bowl, do not use force.
• Sit the motor on top, inside the handle.
• Plug in and switch on at the socket.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• Remove the motor from the Press and Chop.
• To remove the lid from the bowl, place both hands on the bowl handles and grab the lid handle with your index finger and thumb, lift it up and remove.
8
• The motor is powerful and the Press and Chop has a non-slip base to keep it steady on your worktop. To begin chopping, hold one of the bowl handles with one hand to secure, press and hold the on/off button on top of the motor with the other hand.
• The appliance will chop when the on/off button is held down and stop when you release it. You can check the consistency through the bowl, and release the button when you reach the right consistency.
Coarse chop - Short bursts of pressing the on/off button will ‘pulse’ the ingredients, chopping them coarsely and preventing ‘over-processing’. A couple of pulses is enough to chop most ingredients.
Fine chop - Press the on/off button for a few more seconds for a fine chop. This fine consistency is great for garlic or herbs.
Purée - Press the on/off button for longer to puree or smoothly blend ingredients for dips and baby food.
• Only use the Press and Chop in short 10 second bursts, after three bursts, allow the motor to cool for 2 minutes.
Always switch off and unplug the appliance at the socket, before removing the motor from the bowl.
Warning: The blade will continue to rotate for a few seconds. Wait for it to completely stop before removing the lid and carefully removing the blade by the spindle.

Cut ingredients into small even pieces about 2.5cm in size. Uneven sized
pieces will not give an even chop. Chop small quantities at a time, do not fill the bowl beyond the ‘MAX’ mark, this can damage the appliance.
• Always insert the blade before adding food to the bowl, and carefully lift it out before removing food from the bowl.
• The chopper has a non-slip base to help keep it steady on your worktop, but keep a firm grip on the bowl handle with the other hand when chopping.
• Only operate the Press and Chop with food inside the bowl.
• Before chopping breads or nuts, make sure the blade and bowl are completely dry.
• Wash and dry fresh herbs and peel vegetables and garlic before chopping.
• Cook or steam fruit and vegetables first to make purée and baby food.
• To ensure food is evenly chopped, you may need to scrape down food from the sides of the bowl with a wooden, plastic or silicone spatula, then continue processing. Always switch off and unplug the appliance first.
• Take care not to over-process wet ingredients. Use short bursts and check the consistency at regular intervals.
Do not use the Press and Chop with hot foods or liquids. Allow cooked food to cool to room temperature before chopping.
This appliance is not suitable for processing very hard foods e.g. ice cubes, coffee beans, hard spices, grinding granulated sugar to caster sugar or frozen food. This may damage the blade or motor. It can be used to coarsely chop dry spices, but will not chop them to a powder.
Here is a guide to the amounts to add to the bowl when chopping different ingredients. The amount of time to chop depends on the consistency you would like. You can monitor this through the bowl.
