The Lakeland Dessert Maker churns frozen fruit into mouth-watering treats that are a
natural alternative to sorbet, ice cream and lollies.
It works brilliantly with berries, bananas, melon, pineapple, peaches, pears, apples and
mango and is a delicious way to get your five a day.
For a more decadent dessert add chocolate and nuts during making, or drizzle with honey
or maple syrup to serve.

SAFETY CAUTIONS
Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place
for future reference. Always follow these safety cautions when using the appliance to
avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as
described in this instruction book.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older
than 8 and supervised.
• Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.
• Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from
the appliance before the first use.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if
damaged or has been dropped. In the event of damage, or if the appliance develops a
fault contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.
• Do not use this appliance if the lead is damaged. If the lead is damaged it must be
replaced with a special lead. Contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394
88100.
• Always use the appliance on a dry, level, heat resistant surface.
• Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. To disconnect, turn the
socket to “off “and remove the plug from the mains socket.
• Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those
recommended by Lakeland.
• To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or
base in water or other liquids.
• Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a kitchen table or worktop. Avoid
contact between the lead and hot surfaces.
• For indoor use only.
• For domestic use only.
• This appliance should be used for preparation of food as described within the
instructions for use that accompany it.
• Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains
socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.
• To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.

• Do not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.
• An extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be
at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the
worktop or touch any hot surfaces.
• This appliance complies with the basic requirements of Directives 04/108/EC
(Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 06/95/EC (Safety of Domestic Electrical Appliances).
• WARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock)
hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.
• CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be
dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies
and children. These bags are not toys.
• Take extra care when handling the grinder. DO NOT touch the grinder blades as they
are extremely sharp, handle with care.
• DO NOT operate continuously for more than 5 minutes. Allow the appliance to rest
for 5 minutes before using again. After three cycles, allow the unit to cool completely
before using again.
• DO NOT leave the Iced Fruit Dessert Maker unattended when in use. Always make sure
the appliance is switched off and unplugged when assembling, disassembling, cleaning
or storing.

USING YOUR ICED FRUIT DESSERT MAKER
FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Unpack the Iced Fruit Dessert Maker, remove all the packaging materials.
• The chute will already be assembled, but you will need to take it apart for cleaning.
• Take extra care when handling the grinder. DO NOT touch the grinder blades as they
are extremely sharp. Handle with care.
• Before first use, wipe the base with a clean damp cloth.
• Wash the nozzle, grinder, chute and pusher in warm soapy water, rinse and dry
thoroughly.
• Make sure that all parts are clean and dry before assembling the product.
• WARNING: Do not insert the plug into an electrical outlet, or turn on the Iced Fruit
Dessert Maker before you have fully assembled it.
• Place the base on a flat surface near a socket.
1. Insert the grinder into the chute, so the spindle end slots through the hole in the back.

2. Then place the nozzle onto the end of the chute, lining up the arrows on the side,
and twist anticlockwise to lock.

3. Insert the spindle end of the chute into the lock on the base, with the chute angled
to the right hand side. Twist anticlockwise to lock in place, the chute will be in an
upright position.

4. Insert the pusher into the chute.
5. The Iced Fruit Dessert Maker is now ready to use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• Chop your fruit into long thin shapes, around 1-2cm thick and freeze for a minimum
of 12 hours. If you are using bananas or other fruit with a skin ensure they are peeled
before freezing.
• Remove pips, stones or cores from your fruit before freezing.
• Take your frozen fruit from the freezer and let it thaw for 5 to 15 minutes at room
temperature.
• Make sure the chute, grinder and nozzle are securely locked in place before plugging in
and switching on the appliance.
• Plug in and switch on the Dessert Maker at the socket. Place a small bowl underneath
the nozzle.
• Remove the pusher from the chute and put a few pieces of frozen fruit into the top.
Be careful not to overfill the chute.
• Turn on the Dessert Maker using the on/off switch to start. Use the pusher to
feed the frozen fruit pieces through the machine. Apply steady pressure on the pusher
to slowly and gently press the ingredients through the chute. DO NOT use force.
• Only use the pusher to push frozen fruit into the chute. NEVER use your fingers or
hands to push ingredients into the appliance.
• Your iced fruit dessert will feed straight through the nozzle into the bowl underneath.
• The Dessert Maker will continue to produce iced dessert for a while after you have
stopped adding fruit. Wait until it has completely stopped, before switching off
the machine.
• Switch off and unplug the dessert maker at the socket.
• You can stir the dessert to mix. Add your favourite toppings, serve and eat immediately.
• Take apart and clean the dessert maker between each recipe.
• DO NOT operate continuously for more than 5 minutes. Allow the appliance to rest
for 5 minutes before using again. After three cycles, allow the unit to cool completely
before using again.

A GUIDE TO INGREDIENTS AND HINTS AND TIPS
• Once you’ve tried some of the recipes in this booklet, you may wish to adapt them,
using our suggestions as a guide.
• DO NOT use ice cubes with the Iced Fruit Dessert Maker, these are too hard for the
grinder and may damage the appliance.
• For a more decadent dessert, add chocolate and nuts to the chute along with your
fruit, or drizzle your dessert with honey or maple syrup to serve.
• Serve your iced fruit desserts as a healthy side to hot desserts like brownies, instead of
ice cream.
The following frozen fruits work well, you can experiment with different fruit to create
your own recipes.
• Berries - strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and cranberries.
• Bananas - should be over-ripe and peeled before freezing.
• Melon - honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon.
• Pineapple - peeled, cored and cut into long, thin slices.
• Peaches, Pears, Apples, Mango, Kiwi - peeled.
If using a variety of fruits or berries in your recipe, mix them up before adding to the
Dessert Maker.
