safe place for future reference.
The Switch Filter Coffee Maker allows you to make one carafe of freshly brewed filter
coffee, or flip the switch to brew a single size travel cup to drink on the move. Permanent
filters are included for easy cleaning and less waste, and the programmable timer means
you can wake up to freshly brewed coffee.

Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place
for future reference. Always follow these safety cautions when using the appliance to
avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as
described in this instruction book.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.
• Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from
the appliance before the first use.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if
damaged or has been dropped. In the event of damage, or if the appliance develops a
fault contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.
• Do not use this appliance if the lead is damaged. If the lead is damaged it must be
replaced with a special lead contact the Lakeland customer care team on
015394 88100.
• Always use the appliance on a dry, level, heat resistant surface.
• Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
cleaning the appliance. To disconnect, turn the socket to “off “and remove the plug
from the mains socket.
• Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those
recommended by Lakeland.
• To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or
unit in water or other liquids. Do not use near the sink.
• Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a kitchen table or worktop. Avoid
contact between the lead and hot surfaces.
• For indoor use only.
• For domestic use only.
• This appliance should be used for preparation of drinks as described within the
instructions for use that accompany it.

• Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains socket.
Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.
• To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.
• Do not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.
• An extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be
at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the
worktop or touch any hot surfaces.
• This appliance complies with the basic requirements of Directives 04/108/EC
(Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 06/95/EC (Safety of Domestic Electrical Appliances).
• WARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a 13amp socket is a serious safety (shock)
hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.
• CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be
dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies
and children. These bags are not toys.
• Do not place on or near a gas or electric oven, or any hot surfaces.
• Only use the carafe with this appliance. It must never be used on a hob or in
a microwave.
• Do not put a hot carafe down onto a wet or cold surface.
• Do not use the carafe if it is damaged.
• This filter coffee maker does not include any user-serviceable parts. To reduce the risk
of fire or electric shock do not remove any covers. Repairs must be done by a qualified
electrician. In the event of damage, or if the appliance develops a fault contact the
Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.
• Ensure the carafe lid is securely in place when using the appliance and when pouring
coffee. Do not use force when putting the lid on the carafe.

USING THE SWITCH FILTER COFFEE MAKER FOR
THE FIRST TIME
• The Switch Filter Coffee Maker allows you to make one carafe of coffee, or a single cup
of coffee using the travel cup included or your own cup. It will only brew either a carafe
or a cup at one time.
• Unpack the coffee maker. Remove all the packaging materials.
• Wash the carafe, travel cup and lid, coffee bag basket, filter baskets and permanent
filters in warm soapy water, dry thoroughly.
• Before first use, fill the carafe water tank with water to the ‘12 cup’ level, and run this
through the coffee maker following the directions below to thoroughly clean.
• Flip the switch to ‘SINGLE CUP’ and repeat, filling the cup water tank with a travel
cup full of water. Run this through the coffee maker following the directions below to
thoroughly clean.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• Plug in the coffee maker and switch it on at the socket, the
display will illuminate and the clock will read 0.00.
• Press the ‘HOUR’ and ‘MINUTE’ buttons to set the time.
USING THE CARAFE
1. Ensure the switch is flipped to the right, to ‘Carafe’.
2. Fill the carafe with cold tap water, to the amount you require
using the cup measurements on the side.
3. Lift the carafe water tank lid and pour in the water. Do not fill
past the 12 cup mark on the tank viewing window, or the MAX FILL guide inside the tank.
4. Place the empty carafe onto the hot plate.
5. Lift the carafe filter lid and remove the carafe filter basket and
permanent filter.
6. For each cup of coffee, put 1 level tablespoon (15ml) of ground
coffee into the filter.
7. Place the permanent filter into the filter basket and place them
inside the coffee maker. Ensure the notch on the side of the filter
basket is slotted into the groove inside the coffee maker.
BREW BUTTON
1. For fuller, stronger flavoured coffee press the ‘Brew’ button, ‘Strong’ will be displayed
on the screen. This setting brews your coffee slower, and will take longer. Press the
‘Brew’ button again to deselect and brew on the normal setting.

2. Press the On/Off button to start brewing. The button will illuminate.
3. The water will filter through and fill the carafe. When your coffee has brewed, press
the On/Off button to turn the coffee maker off. If the coffee maker is not turned off
manually the hot plate will keep your coffee warm for 40 minutes, then the coffee
maker will switch off automatically. If you need to stop the coffee brewing mid cycle
press the On/Off button.
USING THE SINGLE CUP
1. Ensure the switch is flipped to the left, to ‘Single Cup’.
2. Fill the travel cup or your own cup with cold tap water.
3. Lift the cup water tank lid and fill it with the water from your
cup. Do not fill past the ‘MAX FILL’ mark inside the tank.
WARNING: To avoid the risk of burning or scalding from
hot coffee or water do not use more then 410ml of water,
or exceed the ‘MAX FILL’ mark.
4. Place your empty cup onto the drip tray.
If using the travel cup, add the lid first, the coffee will drip
through the lid and stay hotter.
If you are using a shorter cup, you can lift out the drip tray
and base using the tab, flip the base over, and rest the drip
tray on top to raise it higher.
5. Pull out the cup filter basket and the permanent filter.
6. Note: The coffee bag basket is not used for brewing ground
coffee, and should not be attached to the permanent filter.
7. Inside the permanent filter there are two notches, the smaller
one is a MIN fill line and the larger one a MAX fill line. Fill
filter to the MIN line if you are making 250ml of coffee and
to the MAX line if you are making 410ml of coffee. Do not
fill beyond the MAX line as this will cause the coffee maker
to overflow.
8. Place the permanent filter into the filter basket and insert
them back into the side of the coffee maker.
9. Press the On/Off button to start brewing, the button will
illuminate. The coffee maker will automatically switch off
when your cup of coffee has brewed. If you need to stop
the coffee brewing mid cycle press the On/Off button.
