Huge, Effi cient, and Scalable Storage
Thanks to its fi ve disks, the 5big Storage Server offers up to
a huge 10TB of capacity. Since disks are hot-swappable, you
can perform maintenance without affecting your work ow.
Additionally, simply connect external hard drives through
USB and eSATA connections to scale up capacity or use the
integrated backup engine to protect the server’s data. The
5big Storage Server also features data deduplication to limit
the ever-rocketing quantity of unstructured data generated by
a high number of users. This function optimizes storage space
by ensuring that only a single instance of a le is stored on the
server.

Advanced Sharing and Data Replication
The 5big Storage Server integrates both DFS-N and DFS-R
features for advanced sharing and data replication. DFS-N
aggregates shared folders from multiple servers, creating a single
entry point to your data and simplifying network complexity. In
addition, by automatically replicating data from one le server
to several others, DFS-R makes 5big Storage Server the ideal
solution for branch of ces.
File Serving Anywhere
For a full range of accessibility, the 5big Storage Server supports
major network protocols such as SMB, AFP, NFS, and iSCSI.
Thanks to this compatibility, you can access your data from any
computer on the network (PCs, Macs, or Linux). Additionally,
HTTP and FTP accessibility means that your data can be
accessed from anywhere and shared with your suppliers and
customers. iSCSI support allows you to mount the 5big Storage
Server’s shares as a local disk, bringing performance and
exibility for your business applications.
Environment- and Desktop-Friendly
Despite its high performance, the 5big Storage Server offers
eco-friendly features. Its casing is made from fully recyclable
aluminum, and while R AID systems can consume a lot of power,
the 5big Storage Server power supply is rated at an amazing
level V. Through the Microsoft Storage Server interface, you can
choose low power usage pro les in order to strike a balance
between data availability and power use. Additionally, the LaCie
5big Storage Server houses an ultra-quiet Noctua fan, allowing
you to place the product wherever you choose – including on a
desktop.
