Customizable RAID Protection
Featuring four R AID modes, the LaCie 2big Quadra lets users
easily customize R AID speed and protection levels. In R AID 1, it
offers full data protection for library archiving and backup, with
hot-swappable disks for non-stop data access—even during
maintenance. A convenient Mixed Partition mode enables creative
professionals to work on “daily” data in a RAID 0 partition and to
get another RAID 1 partition for backup and protect sensitive data.
Extra spare disks are also available as an option for immediate
replacement.
RAID Performance for Creative Pros
Taking advantage of a native controller that preserves computer
resources, the LaCie 2big Quadra reaches large capacity and an
impressive speed of 165MB/s in RAID 0 through eSATA 3Gb/s.
These performances are ideal for creative professionals that need
to work with applications that demand high speeds, such as 3D
imaging programs or even with audio/video post-production
software with multiple SD and HD streams. It’s even possible to
daisy-chain FireWire or an iLink DV camera through FireWire.
• Speed and security for audio, video, and photo professionals
• Large capacity for backing up all of your data
• Quadruple interface for universal connectivity

Versatile and Space-Saving
Designed with a sturdy aluminum body by Neil Poulton, the LaCie
2big Quadra easily integrates into any Mac or PC environment.
With versatile configurations such as upright, horizontal, stacked
with other drives, or rack-mounted, it offers significant space saving
abilities. Thanks to its FireWire bus, it can be daisy-chained with
fewer cables connected to your computer, and offers a near-limitless
storage capacity when connected to other hard disks.
Reliable Cooling System
and Power Savings
The LaCie 2big Quadra’s fully aluminum, sturdy heat sink design
provides 60% more surface area, which naturally draws heat away
from the internal components, keeping it cool and safe at all times.
It also offers Triple Power Management with a manual switch: “Auto”
for energy efficiency; “On” for instant access; or “Off” for data
protection.

*Maximum interface transfer rate = theoretical bus bandwidth, whereas burst transfer rate = maximum drive speed.
Performance depends on the RAID mode selected and burst transfer rates vary from one computer to another and may vary
slightly from one drive to another. Average speed is usually lower depending on host configuration.
**The LaCie Shortcut Button feature is available via FireWire and USB but not eSATA.
