this manual thoroughly, which will give you insight and understanding of the features and operation of what can only be described as a beautiful bass amplifier.
he VP600S integrated bass
T
amplifier with valve preamplifier/mosfet power output has been specifically developed for the discerning bass player that requires an extremely portable, ultra high power package utilising valve pre-amplification with none of the inherent reliability problems and high running costs generally associated with high power full valve bass amplification. LABSYSTEMS have achieved this goal by combining a valve preamplifier with our new high power 600 watt mosfet power amplifier module to produce a compact package weighing in at a mere 10.5 kilo’s that packs the punch and tonality of a valve amplifier more than four times it’s size and weight, and output power that is not practically achievable from a valve output stage.
he VP600S also features our
T
new high current power supply module, and a specially de-
signed toroidal transformer, which provides massive supply rail reserves, capable of delivering incredible dynamic range and transients well in excess of the rated output. As with all LABSYSTEMS bass amplifiers, substantial power is delivered even into a 8 ohm load, giving the user exceptional power, even when only a single 8 ohm speaker cabinet is used.
wo speed DC fan cooling is
T
also fitted, with the fan running at low speed when at lower volume levels to minimise background noise should you be in a recording or low noise level environment. Upon production of higher stage levels; the fan will automatically switch to high speed, rapidly cooling the output stage, then return to low speed automatically.
he VP600S features inbuilt eq.

pre tuning; making it possible to achieve a great starting sound very easily and quickly with the front panel equalisation controls set to approximately the 12 o’clock position, whilst further fine tuning or radical changes in tone are possible by further adjustment of the eq. controls and tone switches. Furthermore, with our unique VP valve mid image circuitry it is possible to achieve a harmonic warmth and almost singing quality in your bass sound that we believe is un available in any other amplifier on the market. This forward effect of the VP mid image gives the user a sound that has the ability to cut through the masking effect of other loud instruments around them in a live situation; ensuring a bass sound
that is prominent and full bodied, with incredible definition and tone, whilst maintaining exceptional dynamic range.
any of the other bass

amplifiers currently stating that they have a “valve preamp” are a large exaggeration on the real truth, when in fact all they have is a valve on the input stage used as a pre buffer to buffer the level off your guitar up to a suitable level to drive the real pre amplification and equalisation stage, which in 99 per cent of these amplifiers quoting “valve preamp” is generally fully solid state. With the LABSYSTEMS VP600S this is definitely not the case. The equalisation control in the VP600S is pure valve. Only the highest quality high accuracy silver mica, polyester and polycarbonate capacitors are used to achieve a bass sound that is both transparent and dynamically exciting whilst retaining an un paralleled warmth, richness and tonal quality. *the effects send and d.i. outputs are buffered by ic’s, to provide accurate reproduction of the preamplifier sound without further un necessary coloration.

been meticulously executed, with only the finest of components and materials hand selected. The VP600S is fully hand built, hand soldered, and subjected to extensive electronic, mechanical, and individual listening tests, to produce an amplifier that is true and musical, and capable of withstanding years of rigorous touring.
