overview
As its name indicates it, the Fuzz Ultra is to be classified in the family of Fuzz.
The Fuzz effect describes the sound obtained by the clipping of the signal which presents a wave of square shape. A sensible choice of components gives to this Fuzz a particular, at the same time vintage and modern, texture.
The Fuzz has a high gain.
It has a volume control, a tone control and a drive control. It also has a Gate control that eliminates noise. Gate setting provides various effects such as staccato or pumping.
A three position switch allows you to select the appropriate timbre on the guitar in use. Fuzz also has a Fat mode and a Ultra mode that bring big bass making its use with a bass guitar particularly interesting.
Like all Labo K Effects pedals, the Fuzz Ultra is True By Pass. It
means that when the effect is not active, the device is completely disconnected from the path of the signal and thus adds none résistive load in this one (The accumulation of résistives loads on the path of the signal eventually decreases the power and the brightness of the sound)

controls
I – THE POTENTIOMETERS
1. Volume
This control adjusts the output level of the Ultra Fuzz. The normal volume range goes from zero to maximum unless the gate is in action.
2. Tone
The tone control acts on the frequency range of the Fuzz.
3. Drive
This setting controls the rate of signal clipping.
4. Gate
This setting is the originality of the Fuzz Ultra. It offers a wide variety of effects ranging from the Gate effect (mute in the absence of signal) to the Pumping (compressor pumping style) over the staccato (mute after the attack). When this setting is active, the volume control can no longer mute. The start of the gate control allows to play on the signal spectrum while increasing the gain of the Fuzz Ultra
II – THE SWITCHES
1. Timbre selector
Timbre selector with three positions Deep, Warm and Bright allows to match the Fuzz Ultra and the type of microphone of the used guitar. It also allows you to have multiple colors Fuzz.
2. Mode selector
Mode selector with three positions Fuzz, Fat and Ultra allows to have three tone bandwidths.
! Fuzz mode works in the treble-mid band of traditional Fuzz. ! Fat mode boosts the bass giving more body to Fuzz. ! Ultra Mode provides big bass sounds making the use of the Fuzz
Ultra with a bass guitar very interesting.

Power supply
Labo K Effects pedals are powered by 9V DC battery or external power adapter using the « Boss ™ » standard (negative (-) in the center, positive (+) outside.
The pedal can be supplied in several ways:
! 9V internal battery. ! AC Power adapter. ! AC Power adapter from another Labo K Effects via « Power-
Link » cord.
! 9V battery from another Labo K Effects pedal via « Power-
Link » cord.
Notes :
The power consumption of the Fuzz Ultra is 4mA what gives internal battery a comfortable lifetime. When the input jack is not pressed, the internal battery is disconnected. Change of the internal battery is done by unscrewing the four screws on the bottom of the box.

power-link system
The Power-Link system of Labo K Effects allows an external power supply to power several Labo K Effects pedals via the cable supplied with each pedal by creating a daisy chain.
Using the Power-Link system of Labo K Effects it is even possible to power a Labo K Effects pedal (or any other pedal using tne same power standard) with the internal battery of a Labo K Effects pedal.
The amperage of the power supply used must be higher than the total consumption of pedals you want to feed simultaneously.
To respect the sense of connection, the Power-Link system uses 2 different connectors.
Lumberg connector J21 for the input.
Lumberg connector J25 for the output.

advices
To keep the integrity of the sound, use good quality mono Jack cords exclusively. To extend the life of the battery, remove the connector of the input jack when not using the device. Replace the battery when the light shines only weakly or not at all during the use. If an external adapter is exclusively used, it is recommended to remove the internal battery.
Fuzz Ultra and wha-wha
Fuzz Ultra can be positioned either before or after a wha-wha pedal. However Fuzz Ultra positioned before the wha-wha widens the sound spectre of the wha-wha.

troubleshooting
STAGE 1
No sound comes out of the device:
! Verify that all your equipment works without the pedal. ! Insert the pedal into the chain. ! If the sound comes out in by pass mode, go directly to the stage
2. If the sound does not comes out either in by pass mode, nor in effect mode, go directly to the stage 4
STAGE 2
No audio ouput when the device is switched on :
! Verify that the output volume is not in zero position. ! · If the light shines correctly go to the stage 4.
STAGE 3
If the light shines weakly or not at all and the sound is weak and very distorted:
! Change the battery or verify the connection of the power cable.
STAGE 4
Your device is broken:
! Contact Labo K Effects by mail
