Auto-focus
drive
noise
The
auto focusing System
of
Yashica auto-focus lenses
is
designed
to
focus
by
driving
thè
auto-focus lens
at
thè
speed best suited
for
thè
lens
and
shooting conditions.
Because
thè
speed
change
of
thè
lens drive
is
effected through
a
pulse
contrai
System,
an
intermittent lens
drive
noise
may be
heard
when a telephoto zoom lens
is
used
on
thè
telephoto side. This
occurs
as a
naturai consequence
of
pulse control, that
is, to
enhance
thè
precision
of
thè
auto focusing
System

Autofokus-Antriebsgeràusch
Das
Autofokus-System
von
Yashica-Autofokus-Objektiven
ist
darauf
ausgelegt,
das
Objektiv
bei der
Fokussierung
mit der
fur
Objektiv
und
Aufnahmebedingungen
gùnstigsten Geschwindigkeit anzutreiben.
Da
die
Geschwindigkeit
des
Objektivantriebs
uber
ein
Impulsregel-
system
verandert
wird,
treten
u.U
kurzzeitige
Antriebsgerausche
auf, wenn
ein
Tele-Zoomobjektiv
auf
Tele-Einstellung

objectifs auto-focus

est

Ruido

El
sistema

insert

body;
rotate
thè
lens
clockwise
until a distinct
"click"
is
heard.

• To
remove

lens, press

lens release button
on
thè
camera
body,
rotate
thè
lens counterclockwise
and
remove.
Focusing
Auto-focusing:
Set
thè
camera's switch
to
thè
auto
focus mode. When
thè
shutter release
button
is
pressed
lightly,
focusing
will
be
performed automatically.
•
When performing auto-focusing,
do not
touch
thè
focusing ring since
it
will rotate automatically.
Manual-focusing:
Set
thè
camera
to
thè
manual focus
mode.
While
looking through
thè
viewfinder, rotate
thè
lens'
focusing ring
to
adjust
thè
focus
as
desired.
Focusing
can
also
be
performed
by
setting
thè
distance
index
on
thè
lens
to
thè
figure
on
thè
distance scale
corresponding
to
thè
distance
to
thè
subject.
Aperture setting
The AF
(auto-focus) lens does
not
have
an
aperture ring.
To
set
thè
lens aperture, consult
thè
camera's
Instruction
booklet
and
follow
thè
instructions given
there.
Zooming
The
type
of
zooming differs with
thè
lens. With
thè
28—85
mm
F3.5—4.5.
35—70
mm
F3.3—4.5,
35—105
mm

and
70—210
mm

Zoom Lenses,
zooming
is
performed
by
rotating
thè
zoom ring. With
thè
75—300
mm
F4.5—5.6
and
80—200
mm

Zoom Lenses, zooming
is
performed
by
sliding
thè
zoom
ring forward
and
backward.
Set
thè
desired
focal
length
with
thè
zoom ring.
With
lenses marked MACRO,
you can
take magnified
pictures
of
flowers,
insects,
and so on.
• For
high-magnification
macrophotography
requiring
high precision,
use
thè
Yashica
AF
Macro Lens
60 mm
F2.8.
Taking
macro
pictures with
thè
AF
Zoom
35—70
mm
F3.3—4.5
and
75—300
mm
F4.5—5.6:
With these lenses,
you can
just focus through
to
thè
macro range. Zooming
is
also possible
in
thè
macro
range.
The
maximum magnification
is
obtained when
thè
lens
is
set to its
largest focal length.

you can
focus
on
subjects
at a
distance
of
about
120—47
cm;
with

lens
set to 0.9 m, you can
focus
at a
distance
of
about
56—34
cm.
• To
take
non-macro
pictures again, turn
thè
zoom ring
back
to
thè
side with
thè
focal length scale
while
pressing
thè
macro button.

• To

non-macro
pictures again,

zoom
ring
back
to

side with

focal length scale while
pressing
thè
macro button.
About
thè
infrared
compensation
mark
When using infrared
black
and
white film,
thè
point
of
focus
changes slightly from that produced with normal
films.
As a
result,
compensation
of
focus
is
required.
First,
perform focusing normally without using
any
filters
on
thè
lens,
and
note
thè
distance indicated
on
thè
focusing ring. Then,
attach
any
desired
filters
and
turn
thè
focusing ring slightly
so
that
thè
aforementioned
focusing ring
number
(distance)
is
aligned with
thè
infrared
compensation mark (red line) corresponding
to
thè
focal
length
currently
set.
•
When using infrared
color
films, consult
thè
instructions provided with
thè
film.
•
Infrared photography
should
be
performed using
manual focusing.
