INTRODUCTION

The Auto Drain system consists of a 12 volt normally open solenoid, a filter and assorted fit­tings. Designed to work with the Auto Pump 12V, the solenoid bleeds the filter bowl when the
pump is not running. As soon as the pressure switch turns on the compressor, the solenoid
is energized and the bleed is closed. A check valve is installed on the Auto Drain assembly
to seal off the vehicle’s air pressure when the bleed valve opens.

II. NOTES

1. Install pressure switch on Auto Drain before installing Auto Drain on pump.

2. It may be necessary to slightly rotate solenoid valve by turning Filter Bowl to clear pressure
switch when installing.

3. Remember to tighten Filter Bowl rmly after Pressure Switch is installed.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

I. WIRING OF THE AUTO DRAIN TO THE AUTO PUMP 12V

1. Connect the Auto Drain solenoid wires to output terminals of pressure switch. These are the same
terminals that supply power to the Auto Pump 12V motor.

2. The Auto Drain is now properly connected. Test by bleeding system pressure to start Auto Pump
12V and note that when pump shuts down, air and moisture will bleed out of drain tube.

3. Position drain tube to direct moisture to exterior of vehicle.

WARRANTY POLICY

All products of Kussmaul Electronics are warranted to be free of defects of material
or workmanship. Liability is limited to repairing or replacing at our factory, without
charge, any material or defects which become apparent in normal use within 1
year from the date the equipment was shipped. Equipment is to be returned,
shipping charges prepaid and will be returned, after repair, shipping charges paid.

Kussmaul Electronics shall have no liability for damages of any kind to associated
equipment arising from the installation and/or use of the Kussmaul Electronics
products. The purchaser, by the acceptance of the equipment, assumes all liabil­ity for any damages which may result from its installation, use or misuse, by the
purchaser, his or its employees or others.
