Note: This appliance is designed for the boiling of drinking quality water only; never use it to heat or boil any other liquids or foodstuffs. The lid should always be firmly in place and locked closed before use.
Remove any packaging material and promotional labels before using your kettle for the first time.
It is recommended before the first use to fill the kettle to the maximum level with water, bring to the boil and then discard of the water. This cleans the kettle before use.
Variable Temperature Control
Your Digital Kettle has five temperature settings for ideal tea and coffee brewing; temperatures range 80°C, 85°C, 90°C, 95°C, 100°C. Different tea varieties all have an optimal brewing temperature which allows for the best flavour to be released. For example, green and white teas are more delicate and are ideally brewed between 80°C 85°C to achieve the best flavour. Using boiling water may scald delicate teas creating a bitter taste.
See the table on the next page for a guide on ideal brew temperatures for various teas and coffee.

Cleaning and Storage
Always switch off and unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning. Also make sure kettle has cooled down if recently in use. Wipe down the exterior of the kettle with a moist cloth.
When storing, stow the cord beneath the base unit and make sure the lid is closed and the kettle is correctly attached to the base. Do not store anything on top of the kettle.
Descaling/Removing Mineral Deposits
Due to using tap water, your kettle may appear discoloured inside from mineral deposits over time. This is not rust and can be easily managed by following the below instructions.
To remove the mineral deposits you can purchase kettle descaler products from most leading supermarkets, department stores and hardware stores. Be sure to follow manufacturers instructions before use.
Alternatively you can use everyday household products to clean your kettle as well.
Open the Kettle lid and ll with 3 cups of white vinegar and top up with water to maximum level. Allow to stand overnight. DO NOT BOIL.
Cleaning The Filter
Slide the lter out from the spout for cleaning. Take care when cleaning the lter as the mesh can be damaged, use a soft brush or sponge to clear the mineral deposits.
Remove the solution, rell with fresh water and bring to the boil then discard the water. Repeat and this should remove any build ups.
