3.1 Recommendations for Achieving the Be st Performance
To achieve the best performance:
Connect only good qualit y connection STP CAT 5e 24AWG or STP
CAT 6 cables, thus avoiding interference, deterioration in signal quality due to poor matching, and elevated noise-levels (often associa te d with low quality cables)
Avoid interference from ne ighboring e l ectri cal a ppl ian ces and pos it i on y our
TP-551HDCP/TP-552HDCP away fr om moist ure, excessi ve sunlight and dust
1 Note that the transmission range depends on the signal resolution, graphics card and display used. The distance using nonKramer CAT 5, CAT 6 and CAT 7a cables may not reach these ranges 2 Hot Plug Detect

5 Connecting the TP-551HDCP and TP-552HDCP
You can use the TP-551HDCP DVI Lin e Transmitter with the TP-552HDCP DVI Line Receiver to configure a DVI transmitter/rece iver system.
To connect the TP-551HDCP to the TP-552HDCP, as illustrated in the example in
Figure 3, do the following:
1. Connect the CAT 5 OUT A and B RJ-45 connectors on the TP-551HDCP to the CAT 5 IN A and B RJ-45 connectors on the TP-552HDCP, respectively, via two STP CAT 5e 24AWG cables (s ee s ect i on
5.2).
2. On the TP-552HDCP, connect the DVI OUT connector to an acceptor (for example, a display).
3. Connect the 5V DC power adapter to the power socket and connect the adapter to the mains electricity on both

the TP-551HDCP and the
TP-552HDCP (not shown in ).
4. On the TP-551HDCP, connect the source (f or exam p le, a computer graphics source) to the DVI IN connector.
5. On the TP-552HDCP, adjust the equalization level (see section
5.1).
