
FAN-16DN, FAN-34FD Fan Array Installation
FAN-16DN is a fan array for the VS-1616DN and Matrix Switchers.
FAN-34FD is a fan array for the VS-34FD Matrix Switcher.
It is necessary to power down
VS-1616DN-MD
the chassis in order to replace a fan array. VS-1616DN is shown as an example,
VS-1616DN-MD and follow the same principle.
VS-34FD
To replace a fan array:
All normal static discharge precaution measures must be observed to prevent
damage to the equipment.
1. Remove the new fan array from its shipping box and anti-static bag. Reserve the
original packaging including the anti-static bag for future use.
2. Power down the chassis.
Note: Each power supply has a separate AC power connection with a dedicated
power switch. Verify that you toggle the appropriate power switch(es).
3. Release the 14 front panel captive locking screws and pull down the front panel.
Note: Take care not to unscrew the captive locking screws from the chassis.
4. Disconnect the four fan array power connectors and release the two fan array
thumbscrews on the fan array to be replaced.
5. Raise the fan array to release it from the chassis guide pins and pull out the fan array.
6. Align the new fan array with the chassis
guide pins and lower the fan array to
lock it into position.
7. Tighten the two fan array thumbscrews
and connect the four fan array power

8. Raise the front panel into position and
verify that the 14 front panel captive
locking screws are retracted.
9. Push down on the front panel until it is in
place and an audible ‘click’ is heard.
10. Tighten the 14 front panel captive
locking screws.
11. Power on the chassis.
