3.1 About the 6505 1:5 S/PDIF Distributor
The 6505 1:5 S/PDIF Distributor is a small-sized but efficient distributor for S/PDIF digital audio signals. The 6505:
Takes an S/PDIF input and outputs the signal simultaneously to five
S/PDIF acceptors
Is compatible with EIAJ CP1201, IEC-60958, AES3id and S/PDIF
standards
Features a 32kHz to 192kHz sample frequency rangeIncludes equalizing and reclocking of incoming data for low jitter
recovery of the digital audio data stream
The 6505 is 5VDC fed and is housed in a DigiTOOLS® enclosure.
3.2 Recommendations for Achieving the Best Performance
To achieve the best performance: Connect only good quality connection cables, thus avoiding interference,
deterioration in signal quality due to poor matching, and elevated noise-levels (often associated with low quality cables)
Avoid interference from neighboring electrical appliances and position your
Kramer 6505 away from moisture, excessive sunlight and dust
Caution – No operator-serviceable parts inside unit. Warning – Use only the Kramer Electronics input power
wall adapter that is provided with this unit1.
Warning – Disconnect power and unplug unit from wall
before installing or removing device or servicing unit.

To connect your 6505 1:5 S/PDIF Distributor, as illustrated in the example in Figure 2, do the following1:
1. Connect an S/PDIF source (for example, a DVD Player) to the S/PDIF RCA input connector.
2. Connect up to five S/PDIF RCA output connectors to up to five S/PDIF acceptors (for example, power amplifiers).
3. Connect the 5V DC power adapter to the power socket and connect the adapter to the mains electricity (not shown in Figure 2).

1 Switch OFF the power on each device before connecting it to your 6505. After connecting your 6505, switch on its power and then switch on the power on each device
