SPECIAL NOTE
Should the ambient temperature exceed +35°C, please hold the sensor tip in cold water for 30 – 60 seconds
before starting to measure.
HOW TO USE THE THERMOMETER
1. Press the on/off button; all symbols show on the LCD display for a few seconds as a means of checking that
the thermometer is functioning correctly.
2. The following display Ok indicates readiness after the internal self-test. If the display shows Err , a malfunction has occurred. Start again. If the error message is still shown after repeatedly turning the thermometer on
and off, the thermometer is broken and has to be disposed off.
3. Position the sensor tip in the preferred place of measurement – mouth, rectum or armpit (see Measuring
Methods).
4. Measuring starts with a flashing “°C” on the display. Lo is shown as long as the temperature stays below
32°C.
5. The currently measured temperature is shown as long as the “°C” is flashing.
6. As soon as the “°C” stops flashing, the maximum temperature has been measured and the signalling tone
sounds for approx. 5 seconds.
7. Should the measured maximum temperature fall below 32°C or exceed 43.9°C, either Lo- or Hi is shown on
the display.
8. To prolong the life of the battery, please switch off the thermometer after use. If the power is left on, the
thermometer will automatically shut down after 8 minutes 40 seconds to save power.
9. To safe the last measurement to the thermometer‘s memory simply press the on/off button for more than
1.5 seconds. The last measured temperature will be displayed with the “M” in the lower right-hand corner.

MEASURING METHODS
1. Armpit = Axillary approx. 15 – 25 seconds
Wipe the armpit dry with a cloth. Place the sensor tip in the armpit and firmly press the thermometer in place
with your arm.
2. Mouth = Oral approx. 10 – 20 seconds
Place the sensor tip under the tongue. Hold the thermometer in the same spot with your mouth closed. Do
not shift the thermometer during measurement. Keep breathing evenly.
3. Anus = Rectal approx. 10 – 15 seconds
Carefully insert the lubricated sensor tip 2 – 3 cm into the anus.
Also suitable to monitor your ovulation cycle by measuring your basal body temperature (BBT). Simply order the
OVULA temperature-plotting chart.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
When the disply shows the flashing battery symbol -, please replace the battery.
1. Turn the thermometer with the back towards you.
2. Remove the top.
3. Carefully pull the battery holder from the casing.
4. Remove the battery with an appropriate tool. Do not use sharp metal!
5. Insert a new 1.5 V button battery with the “+” facing up.
6. Put the battery holder back in the casing.
7. Put the top back on.
NOTE: Batteries must not be disposed off with your normal household waste. Please follow the local hazardous
waste disposal regulations. Keep batteries out of the reach of children!
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
For home use clean the sensor tip before and after use. Suitable is mild soapy water or the following detergents:

Do not drop the thermometer! It is neither shock-proof nor impact-proof.
Do not expose the thermometer to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
Do not attempt to disassemble the thermometer apart from replacing the battery.
