Yourdealersellsaselectionofspeciallyformulatedlubricantsbasedonownengineeringspecications.
Recommendedlubricantsforyourimplementarelistedinthemaintenancechapter.
WARRANTY
Yourimplementiswarrantedaccordingtolegalrightsinyourcountryandthecontractualagreementwiththeselling dealer.Nowarrantyshall,however,applyiftheimplementhasnotbeenused,adjustedandmaintainedaccordingto theinstructionsgiveninthisoperator'smanual.
Itisprohibitedtocarryoutanymodicationstotheimplementunlessspecicallyauthorized,inwriting,bya KONGSKILDErepresentative.
CLEANINGYOURIMPLEMENT
Whenyouuseahighpressurewasher,donotstandtooclosetotheimplementandavoiddirectingthejetatelectronic components,electricalconnections,breathers,seals,llercaps,andsoon.
Cleandecalsonlywithasoftcloth,waterandagentledetergent.DONOTusesolvent,gasolineorotherharsh chemicalstocleandecals.Decalscouldberemovedorgetdamaged.
DISASSEMBLYORSCRAPPING
Whenyourimplementistakenoutofservicebecauseitisdamagedbeyondrepairorhasreachedtheendofits usefullife,disassembly,scrappingand/orrecyclingofcomponentsmustbeperformedonlybyaqualiedtechnician withserviceinstructions,andincompliancewithlocallawandregulations.

KONGSKILDEdiscmowercanonlyperformtheusual workinagriculture.Onlyconnectthediscmowertoatrac­torthatcorrespondswiththespecicationsoftheimple­mentandislegaltouse.OnlythePowerT ake-Off(PTO) ofthetractorcandrivetheattacheddiscmower.
Thediscmowercansolelycutonthegroundnatural orplantedgrassandstemcropsforanimalfeeding purposes.Thediscmowerlaysthematerialinaswath, whichallowsthesubsequentpick-upofthematerial.
Theworkmustoccurunderreasonableconditions,or thoroughagriculturalknowledgeandauthorisedopera­tion,onanormalcultivationthathasareasonableexten­sionwithoutforeignmatterandthelike.Theperformance

ConnectthePTOshaftcarefullyandlettheenginerunat alownumberofRPMforsomeminutes.
Ifthereisnounintendednoiseorunusualvibrations,the speedcangraduallyincreasetonormalnumberofRPM of1000RPM.Apartfromthetractordrivernobodyshould standneartheimplement.
Beforetheimplementsleavethefactory,theimplements haveatestforvibrations.Thisisanessentialpartofthe companyqualityassurance.
Itis,however,necessarytocheckregularlywhetherthe implementhasunnaturalvibrations,especiallyduringtest driving.
NOTICE:Whendiscsandbladesrotatewith3000RPM, evenslightlydamagedrotatingparts(blades,discsand caps)mayresultinvibrationswhichinthelongrunmay leadtosecondarydamagesuchascracksorfractures.

Beforeyouconnecttheimplement,setthelinkarmsof thetractortothesameheight.Installthetoplinkcorrectly betweenthetractorandA-framesothattheA-frameis verticalorhasasmallinclinationforward.
Transmission
TheimplementisconstructedforaPowerTake-Off(PTO) speedfromthetractorof1000RPMandisintendedfor tractorsonwhichthedirectionofrotationoftheshaft(1) iscounterclockwise(A)whenyoulooktowardsthefront ofthetractor.
Connection
Theimplementisconstructedforconnectiontothetractor bymeansofquickconnectionwithA-frame(Accordsys­temorsimilar).

Determiningtherequiredshaftlength
WhenyoudeterminethatyoumustshortenthePTOshaft, selectthelengthsothatthetelescopingmembersnever closecompletelyorbottomoutwheninuse.ThePTO lengthmustneverbesmallerthantheminimumdistance betweenthejoints.
1.AttachtheimplementtothetractorwithoutthePTO
shaft.
2.Adjustthethree-pointhitchsothatthePTOshaftis
parallelwiththeground.
3.Stopthetractorandengagetheparkingbrake.
4.DetermineifthePTOshaftbottomoutinthisposition.
IfthePTOshaftbottomsoutinthispositionorifthe freelengthislessthan30mm(1.18in),proceedwith theproceduretoshortenthePTOshaft.

1.FastenthePTOdriveshafthalfpartstothePTO(on thetractor)andthePIC(ontheimplement).ThePTO driveshafthalfpartsmustbeatthesamehorizontal level,oppositeeachotherattheshortestdistancefrom thetractor.
2.Makesurethataminimumoverlapof200mm (7.87in)exists.
3.CheckthatthePTOshaftdoesnotbottomoutatone end.Keeptheshaftendsparalleltoeachotherand marktheminimumdistanceof30mm(1.18in).Only cutenoughPTOshaftofftoachievethisminimumfree shaflength.Thiswillmaintainthemaximumamount ofPTOshaftoverlap.
4.Shortenallfourtubesequally.
5.Roundofftheendsoftheproletubesandremovethe burrscarefully.
6.Removethemetalshavings.

Frictionclutch

Toensurealonglifeforyourtractorandimplement,the implementisequippedwithafrictionclutchonthePower Take-Off(PTO)driveshaftbetweenthetractorandthe implement.
Thepurposeofthefrictionclutchistoprotectthetransmis­sionfromoverloadwhenyouworkintheeldandwhen youstarttheimplement(connectionofthePTO).
NOTICE:Iftheclutchisoverloadedbyslippingforsome time,itwillgetheatedandthusbewornquickly.Over­heatingwilldamagethefrictionplates.

Transmissionsecuringagainstoverload

Whenyouusetheimplement,considerthefollowing steps:
1.Alwaysstarttheimplementwiththeenginerunning atlowspeed.Thisespeciallyappliestotractorswith electro-hydraulicconnectionofthePowerTake-Off (PTO)shaft.
2.Whenyoustartthework,makesuretoplacetheim­plementinworkingposition.
3.AsuddenincreaseinthenumberofRevolutionPer Minute(RPM)oftheimplement,forexamplewhenyou driveintotheeldorafteryouturnintheeldshould alsohappenwiththeimplementclosetoworkingpo­sition.
4.ListentotheRPMofthetractorwhenyouworkinthe eld.IfthenumberofRPMfallsslowlyorissuddenly reduceditmaybeasignofoverloadofthetransmis­sionduetotoohighdrivingspeedorforeignmatterin thecuttingunit.Inthiscase,thefrictionclutchwillslip andyoumustdisconnectthePTOimmediatelyandlet theimplement“rest”.

Adjustmentofthereliefsystem

Tosparethestubbleduringthework,reducethewearof theskidsandensuregoodgroundfollowingabilities.Itis possibletorelievetheimplementbymeansoftwostrong tensioningsprings(2).
Thereliefspringsarebetweentheimplementandthetrac­tor.First,performabasicadjustment.Thenperformthe neadjustmentintheeldwhenyouhavetherightcutting height.
Installthesprings(2)ontheimplementandthechains(3) atthetractor.
Mountingisdifferentfromtractortotractor.
Whenyouhavefoundtheplacementonthetractor, chooseaholeinthespringbracket(1)sothattheangle (Z)is30–40°.
Tondthecorrectspringlength,liftuptheimplementin transportpositionandadjustthechains(3).Startwitha longchainandshortenonechainlinkatatimeuntilyou canlifttheimplementateachsidewhentheimplementis loweredtothegroundandisinoatingposition.
NOTE:Shortenthechainssimultaneously.
NOTE:Thetractor’slinkarmsmustbeinoatingposition.
Checkthatthespringsarenottoolongwhentheimple­mentisinworkingposition.
Measurethelength(Y)eachtimeyoushortenthe chain.Thelength(Y)shouldnotbebiggerthan600mm (23.62in).
If(Y)shouldnotbelongerandyoucannotlifttheimple- ment,youneedtomovethespringsindirection(B)until youcan.Ifyoucanlifttheimplementand(Y)issmaller than500mm(19.69in),movethespringsindirection(A) andmake(Y)bigger.Thisensuresbetterreliefonhilly ground.
Ifitisdifcultfortheimplementtofollowtheground,make theimplementheavierthanrecommendedbymaking(Y) shorter.

Guards

Whenyoumaintaintheimplement,youoftenneedtoopen theguards(2).Itisnotpossibletolifttheguard(2)for transport,becauseforsafetyreasonstheguardshavea lock.
Toopenthefrontguard,youmustpullthehandle(1)and holdthehandlewhileyouliftthefrontguard(2).
Holdthefrontguardlifted,letgoofthehandle(1)and theguardlocksautomaticallyinopenposition.Followthe sameproceduretoclosethefrontguard.
Itispossibletoplacethesideguards(3)inaverticalmid- dleposition.Thismeansthatfrontguard(2)andside guards(3)canbeopenatthesametime.Thismakes iteasiertomaintainandcleantheimplement.

Astheimplementisfront-mounted,therearesomedriv­inginstructionsandsomeimportantcircumstancetobe awareof.
Starting
Whenyouarriveattheeldyouwanttoworkin,proceed asfollows:
1.Deactivatethetransportlockandfolddowntheside guards.
2.Lowerthecuttingunittothegroundwithoutdrivinginto thecrop.Settheliftingcylindertooatingposition.
3.ConnectthePowerTake-Off(PTO)ofthetractorwith theengineatidlespeed.
4.Increasethenumberofrotationsgraduallyuntilthe wanted1000RPMonthePTOisobtained.
5.Driveforwardsandleadthecuttingunitintothecrop.
NOTE:Itisnormalthatthecuttingparts(cutterbar,discs andblades)makenoiseswhenyoustartduetothehigh numberofrevolutionsofthediscs(3000RPM).Thenoise willdecreasewhentheimplementstartstheworkinthe crop.
NOTE:Whentheimplementisinworkingpositionduring mowing,thesingle-actinghydrauliccylinderforliftingthe implementmustbeinoatingpositionsothatthecutting unitcanmovefreelyandthesuspensionworksoptimally.
Workingintheeld
Thereareseveralimportantconditionstobeawareof whenyoumowwiththeimplement.
Keeptheeldclearofstonesandforeignmatter,ifpossi­ble.
Eveniftheimplementisadjustedandoperatedcorrectly, thecuttingunitcanejectstonesandforeignmatterinthe eld.Thereforenopersonsshouldstandnearthecut­tingunitwheretheconditionsareunknown.Beparticu­larlycarefulwhenyouworkalongpublicroadsorfacilities (schools,parks,etceteras).
NOTICE:Thoughitispossible,neverreversewiththe cuttingunitinworkingposition.Thecorrectmovement forthecuttingunitonlyworkswhenyoudriveforward,as thereisariskofdamageifyoudrivebackwardswiththe implementinworkingposition.
Itispossibletoworkwithaspeedof19km/h(11.81mph). However,alwaysadjustthedrivingspeedtothecondi­tions,forexampletheamountofcropandtheconditions oftheground.
Theoperatorshouldalwayshavefullcontrolofthetractor andbeabletoavoidirregularitiesofthegroundandfor­eignmatterinfrontofthetractorandtheimplement.

Likewithotherimplementssuspendedinparallelarms youmustbeawareoftransverseforcesduringturningand onhillyground.
Theimplementcannotswingouttothesideascertainsta­bilitymustbeensuredwhenyoudriveforwardandthere­forethereisnostonereleasemechanismintransverse direction.
Whenyoumowtheeld,makesuretokeeptheRev­olutionPerMinute(RPM)ofthePTOshaftconstantat 1000RPM,sothatthecuttingpartsoftheimplementcan workoptimally.
WhenthenumberofRPMfalls,theloadofthetransmis­sionincreasesconsiderablyandyoumayexperiencethat thefrictionclutch,inordertoprotectthetransmission, slipsasintendediftheimplementisoverloaded.
DisconnectthePTOimmediatelywhenthefrictionclutch slipsandndthereasonfortheoverloadofthetransmis­sion.
Afteryouhaveworkedwiththeimplementforalongtime, thecutterbarwillhaveatemperatureofabout80°C (176.00°F).Therefore,beawareoftheriskofgetting burntifyouwanttoreplacebladesorotherparts.

Turning
Whenyouturnintheeld,liftthecuttingunitfromthe ground.
NOTE:NoisemayoccurfromthePTOshaftbetweentrac­torandimplementwhenyoulifttheimplementcompletely duringturning.Thenoiseisduetotheangleoftheshaft andispracticallyofnoimportancebecausethetorqueof theshaftisminimalinthissituation.
Whenyouturnonhillygroundoronsteepslopes,turnwith theimplementtowardsthehill/slope,ifpossible,toensure sufcientstabilityofthetractor.Alwaysreducethedriving speedwhenyouturnintheeld.
NOTICE:Theconstructionoftheimplementdoesnotal­lowyoutoreversewhentheimplementisinworkingposi­tion.Therefore,alwaysliftthecuttingunitfromtheground whenyouturn.

AlwaysdisengagethePowerTake-Off(PTO)driveshaft, activatetheparkingbrakeandstopthetractorenginebe­foreyou:
Lubricatetheimplement.
• Cleantheimplement.
• Disassembleanypartoftheimplement.
• Adjusttheimplement.
NOTE:Iftheimplementisconnectedtothetractorand raisedduringtherepairandmaintenance,securethelink armswiththesupportchains.
Observetherecommendedgreasing,replacementandin­spectionintervalstopreventsecondarydamages.

Installtheusedsparepartscorrectlyandtorqueallthe boltsandnutstothecorrecttighteningtorque.

Tubes,hoses,electricalwiring,etceterathatarewornor damagedmustbereplacedimmediately.

Hydraulicsystem
Whenreplacepartsofthehydraulicsystem,alwaysmake surethatthecuttingunitrestsontheground.
Remembertorelievetheoilpressurebeforeyouworkwith thehydraulicsystem.
Hydraulichosesmustbecheckedbeforeeachuse,and minimumonceayear.Ifnecessary,replacethehydraulic hoses.Allhosesaremarkedwithdateofproduction.The workinglifeofhydraulichosesshouldnotexceed6years, includingmaximum2yearsofstorage.
Whenyoureplacehoses,alwaysusehoseswhichcomply withtherequirementsstatedbythemanufacturer.
PowerTake-Off(PTO)driveshaft
PayspecialattentiontotheslidingproletubesofthePTO shaft(1)betweenthePTOofthetractorandthecentre gearboxoftheimplement.Theproletubesmustbeable toslidebackandforthwhenthetorqueisheavy.Ifthe proletubesdonotslideeasily,themovementofthecut­tingunitislimitedandthegroundfollowingabilitiesare reduced.
Theproletubesinthisshaftconstantlymoveinrelation toeachotherduringthework.Thereforetheimplement isequippedwithaspecialshaftinwhichthetubescan begreasedfromtheoutsidebymeansofacentrallypo­sitionedgreasetting(2),withouthavingtoseparatethe shaft.
Alwayslubricatetheslidingproletubessufciently,to avoidhighfrictionalforces(seizing)whichwilldamage theproletubesandintimealsoconnectingshaftsand gearboxes.
Unlesstheprotectiveguards,thePTOdriveshaftmay causeseriousinjury.Keepalltheguardsinapropercon­dition.Allthesafetyguardmustbeintact.Inspectthe guardsfrequently.Replacethedefectiveguardimmedi­ately.
Alwaysmakesurethattheslidingsurfacesoftheguard tubesarecleanandtheguardbearingslubricated.
Whenyoureplacewornordamagedsectionsofthe guard,usespecialtoolsavailablefromthemanufacturer.

Checkthepositionbymeansofaleveltube(1), bothlengthwiseandcrosswise.

ThePTOshaftforthecutterbarwhichisboltedontothe inputdiscisgreasedforlife.However,ifyouseparate thepowertakeoff,greasebeforeyoureistallthepower takeoffagain.

NOTE:Thersttimeyoustarttheimplementpayattention tovibrationsandnoisetohaveastandardofcomparison later.
NOTICE:Thediscsrunatupto3000RPM,andonebro- kenblademaycauseseriousinjurytopersonsormate­rialdamageresultingfromunbalance.Ifyouworkwitha modernclosedcabin,thesymptomsmaybedifculttodis­cover,andonceinawhileyouhavetogetoutandcheck ifallbladesandrotorngersareintact.Inthelongrunun­balancewillcausefatiguefracturesandseriousdamage.
Alltheimplementshavebeenmanufactured,testedand checkedforvibrationswithspecialtools.
Toavoiddamagecausedbyvibrations,fastenthecutter barproperlytotheframe. Tofastenthecutterbar,removetheoutermostguide shoes(1).Re-tightenthenutsonthebolts(2)thatgo throughbothcutterbarandframe. Onthe6-boltcutterbaritisM10boltswhichmustbe tightenedto75N·m(663.81lbin).
NOTE:Theboltsthatareplacedwheretherearecarvings intheframeshouldnotberetightened.Theseareonlyin­tendedtoholdthecutterbartogetheranddonotgothrough theframe. Checkatregularintervalsbolts(3)atguideshoesand shearbarsonthecutterbar.

Pressurewashing

Beforeyouusepressurewashing,cleantheimplement withcompressedair.
NOTE:Legislationincertaincountriesandgoodpractice requiresspecialtreatmentofwastewaterthroughsed­imentationandoilseparationandcontrolledremovalof residues.
Avoidpressurewashingatambienttemperaturesbelow 10°C(50°F)orwhentheimplementiswet.Placethe implementinaheatedworkshopordrybarnforatleast 24h.Cleantheimplementonlywhenfullydry.
NOTE:Becarefulwhenyoucleantheimplementwitha highpressurewashing.Avoidtodirectwaterjetsonelectric equipment,bearings,seals,gearboxes,etcetera.

Endofseasonservice

Whentheseasonisover,preparetheimplementforthe storageimmediately.
Topreparetheimplementforwinterstorage:
1.Cleantheimplementthoroughly.Dustanddirtabsorb moistureandmoistureincreasestheformationofrust.
2.Storetheimplementinadryplace,protectedagainst windandweatherinthebestpossibleway.
3.Greaseallgreasettingsafteryoucleantheimple­ment,accordingtothe“Maintenancechart”.
4.Checktheimplementfordamagedparts,loosescrew­joints,leakage,wearandotherdefectscarefullybefore thestorage.Ifthereisanydamage,itmaybeforgotten duringthestorageandresultinproblemsthefollowing season.Notedownthenecessarypartsyouwillneed beforethenextseasonandorderthespareparts.
5.DismountthePowerTake-Off(PTO)shafts,lubricate theproletubesandkeeptheminadryplace.
6.Spraytheimplementwithacoatofrust-preventingoil.
7.Partspolishedwithuseandthepistonrodsofthehy­drauliccylindermaygetrusty.Cleanandbrushwith greasepartspolishedwithuseandthepistonrodsto protectagainstwindandweather.
8.Changetheoilinthehydraulicsystem,thecutterbar andthegearboxes.
9.Supporttheimplementtorelievetheweightfromthe tires.Leavetiresinated.Tireandrubbercomponents lifewillbeextendedifprotectedfromsunlightduring storage.
NOTE:Periodiccheckswillhelptokeepyourimplement maintenanceandrepairstoaminimumandavoidcostly breakdownsduringtheseason.Therefore,itisgoodprac­ticetohavetheimplementinspectedattheendofthesea­son.
