This floor mat underlay is intended solely for non-commercial use for the announcement of visitors or as a deterrent to burglars. The signal emitter is only intended
for indoor use. It is not intended for any other or more extensive use. Claims of
any kind for damage arising as a result of incorrect use will not be accepted.
The risk shall be borne solely by the user.

Basic safety guidelines
To ensure safe operation of the appliance, follow the safety
guidelines set out below:

and user maintenance tasks may not be carried out by
children unless they are supervised.
■ Note that the supplied wall plugs are only suitable for con-
crete and brick walls.
■ Before drilling, ensure that there are no cables/pipes at the
drill locations.
■ Do not make any unauthorised modifications or alterations
to the appliance.
■ Repairs to the appliance during the warranty period may only
be carried out by a customer service department authorised
by the manufacturer. Otherwise no warranty claims can be
considered for subsequent damage.
■ Protect the appliance from moisture, spray and dripping
water and penetration by liquids.
Information on using batteries
CAUTION
Do not throw the batteries into the fire.

► Do not short-circuit the batteries.
► Do not attempt to recharge the batteries.
► Check the condition of the batteries at regular intervals.
Leaking battery acid can cause permanent damage to
the appliance.
► Special care should be taken when handling damaged
or leaking batteries. Risk of acid burns! Wear protective
gloves.
► Store batteries in a place that is inaccessible to children.
If a battery is swallowed, seek medical attention
IMMEDIATELY.
► If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long time,
remove the batteries.

Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during carriage.
The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness
and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw materials and
reduces the amount of waste which is generated. Dispose of packaging materials
that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
Inserting batteries
♦ Push the battery compartment cover on the front of the signal emitter
downwards.
♦ Insert the four AAA batteries

Installing the signal emitter
The signal emitter may be placed free standing/lying down or you can mount
it on the wall.
For a wall mounting, proceed as follows and use the included 2 wall plugs
and 2 screws
♦ Use a pencil to mark 2 drill holes at a distance of approx. 44 mm above each
other on the wall.
♦ Drill holes at the marked positions with a diameter of 5 mm and a depth of at
least 25 mm.

Setting the signal
The signal switch provides four settings:
A loud gong is heard when the floor mat underlay is activated.
A quiet gong is heard when the floor mat underlay is activated.
The signal is deactivated if you set the signal switch to this position.
An alarm is heard when the floor mat underlay is activated. The
alarm switches off after about 30 seconds. The signal emitter
then reset for activation.

A weak or distorted signal indicates that the batteries need replacing.

CAUTION
► To avoid irreparable damage to the appliance, ensure that no moisture
gets into it during cleaning.
♦ Clean the appliance with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp
cloth with a mild detergent.
♦ If you decide not to use the appliance for a long period, remove the batteries
and store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
