Introduction
Your safety
Please make sure you familiarise your-
self fully with the way the tool works
before you use it for the first time and that you understand how to handle electrical power tools correctly. Further details can be found in the operating instructions. In addition to the above, you must also observe the general safety advice contained in the accompanying booklet. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the tool on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation.
Keep children and uninvolved other third parties at a distance when using electrical power tools.
Damaged appliances, power cables and power plugs mean potentially fatal risks from electric shock. Regularly check the condition of the appliance, the power cable and the power plug.
Dispose of packaging materials and the appliance in an environmentally responsible manner!
Proper use
The tool is intended for hammer drilling into brick, concrete and stone as well as drilling into wood, metal, ceramics and plastic. The clockwise / counter clockwise rotation facility also allows the tool to be used as a driver. Any other use or modification to the tool shall be considered as improper use and could give rise to considerable dangers. The manufacturer will not accept liability for loss or damage arising from improper use.

Warning! The vibration level given in
these instructions has been measured in
accordance with a standardised measurement procedure specified in EN 60745 and can be used to compare devices. Different uses of the device give rise to different vibration levels and in many cases they may exceed the values given in these instructions. It is easy to underestimate the vibration load if the electrical power tool is used regularly in particular circumstances.

Preparing for first use
Attaching the auxiliary handle
For reasons of safety, this device must be used only with the auxiliary handle properly attached. It is essential that you note the following: if the drill becomes jammed, a very large torque can be generated („the force that the machine will exert to rotate about its own shaft“).
j Attach the auxiliary handle
collar and fix in place by tightening the wing screw. Attach the depth stop you to drill to the exact depth required.

Preselecting the rotation speed
You can preselect the required speed using the speed preselector wheel
j You can increase or decrease the speed by
turning the speed preselector wheel. The most suitable speed depends on the material involved. We recommend that you carry out a few practical tests beforehand.
Tip: You will always find these two basic guidelines helpful:
1. Large drill diameter = lower speed whilst smaller drill diameter = higher speed
2. Hard material = lower speed
