Important specific safety advice
To avoid danger to life from
electric shock:
· Do not operate the device if the mains lead or mains plug is damaged.
Caution! A damaged mains lead presents a
serious danger to life from electric shock.
· The mains voltage at the mains socket must match that shown on the rating plate on the device. Devices marked with 230 V can also be operated at 220 V. Never use a plug adapter in the socket that could possibly earth the device.
· Have repairs carried out only by an electrician

or the relevant service centre.
· Do not operate the device if it is damp and do not use it in a damp environment.
· If you use the device outdoors, always connect it through a residual current device with a maximum trip current of 30 mA. If using an extension lead, always use one that is approved for outdoor use.
· Always keep the mains lead out of the operating area and run it away from the rear of the device.
To avoid the danger of injury:
Danger of burns! Do not touch the heated
soldering tip. You could suffer burn injuries.
· Before carrying out any work on the device itself, for example, changing the soldering tip, always pull the plug out of the mains socket and allow the device to cool.
·
Always wear protective glasses
when using the device. In
addition, it is recommended that you wear protec-
tive gloves, a face mask and a protective apron.
· Before use, always check the device, mains lead and plug for any damage. If any parts are damaged, have them fixed or replaced at a specialist repair centre only.
· Ensure that no vapours that may be hazardous to health can accumulate when working with the device for long periods. Always provide adequate ventilation of your working area.
· Switch on the device each time before you bring it into contact with the materials to be soldered.
Using the device safely:
· Before heating the device, check that the soldering tip is firmly seated - the clamping

screw must be fully tightened.
· When removing the soldering tip make sure that the soldering pencil is switched off and do not use too much force. Slide a new soldering tip fully in so that it hits the stop.
· Do not heat up the soldering pencil without a tip in place.
· After use let the soldering pencil cool down in air only. Under no circumstances quench the tip in water!
· Place the soldering pencil in the stand during any pauses in your work.
· Danger of fire! Place the soldering pencil down only in the special stand or on a fireresistant support pad.
· If danger arises, pull the mains plug immediately out of the mains socket.
· Never use the device for a purpose for which it was not intended.
· Handle the device carefully and treat it with respect. Always keep the device clean, dry and free of oil or grease.
· Remain alert at all times! Watch what you are doing and always proceed with caution. Do not use the device if you cannot concentrate or you are feeling unwell.
Operation
Note the mains voltage. The mains voltage must correspond with that shown on the sander rating plate. Equipment labelled as 230 V may also be used with 220 V.
The soldering pencil PFLK 30, with its nominal
30 watt power rating, is ideal for soldering electronic components and circuit boards.
Safety/Operation
11 GB
The nominal soldering tip temperature is about
320° C. For best results use electronics solder
1.0 (10 g included with the soldering pencil) or
1.5 mm dia. 60 % Sn. We recommend soldering paste (not soldering grease or soldering fluid) as a flux.
The design of the soldering pencil makes it
especially suitable for use where access is difficult or for fine soldering work. The interchangeable tips increase the versatility of the soldering pencil.
Maintenance and care
Attention : Always make sure that the mains
plug is out of the socket before doing any work on the random orbital sander.
1) Clean the sander frequently; for best results, do this immediately after you have finished using it.
2) Do not use sharp objects for cleaning the random orbital sander. Do not allow any liquids to enter the random orbital sander. Use a soft cloth to clean the housing – under no circumstances use petrol, solvents or cleaning agents that attack plastic.
Disposal
The packaging is wholly composed of environmentally-friendly materials that can be disposed of at a local recycling centre. Please contact your local council office to find out about disposal facilities for your worn-out electrical tools.
