Safety instructions
Risk of electrocution!
• Connect the appliance only to wall sockets supply­ing the current strength detailed on the model plate.
Under no circumstances may the appliance be submersed in fluids or fluids be allowed to permeate the housing. Do not expose the appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. Should liquids enter the housing, unplug the appliance from the power socket immediately and arrange for it to be repaired by a quali­fied technician.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
Never use the appliance near water, particu­larly not near sinks, baths or other vessels. The proximity of moisture presents a danger, even when the appliance is switched off. After use, always remove the plug from the power socket. As additional protection, the installation of a faulty-current protection unit with an activa­tion power rating of not more than 30 mA is recommended for the power circuit in the bath­room. Ask your electrician for advice.
• In event of operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance, remove the power plug from the wall socket.
• Disconnect the appliance by pulling on the plug, not on the power cable.
• Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance and protect it from being damaged.
• To avoid risks, arrange for defective power cables and/or plugs to be replaced immediately by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department.
• Do not pinch or squeeze the power cord and lay it in such a way that no one can tread on or trip over it.
• In order that you can disconnect the appliance quickly in an emergency, do not use extension cables.
• NEVER grasp the appliance, power cable or power plug with wet hands.
• Unplug the appliance immediately after use. The appliance is completely free of electrical power ONLY when unplugged .
Risk of fire and burns
• This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• NEVER leave a switched on appliance unsupervised.
• Do not place the appliance close to sources of heat and protect the power cable from damage.
• Do not operate the appliance if it has sustained a fall or is damaged. Arrange for the appliance to be checked and/or repaired by qualified tech­nicians.
• You may not open the housing or repair the appliance yourself. Should you do so, appliance safety can no longer be assured and the warranty will become void. Permit only authorised technicians to repair a defective appliance if repairs should be necessary.
• The appliance becomes hot when in use. Hold it only by the grip when it is hot.

Intended Use
The Hair Straightener is intended for the smoothing and shaping of human hair, under no circumstances may it to be used for wigs and hairpieces made of syn­thetic material. The Hair Straightener is intended for domestic use only. Pay heed to the information in this operating manual, especially the safety instructions.
Placing/Fixing the combination mounting
You can either securely place the combination mounting or fix it to the wall.
Setup
Place the combination mounting aon a level, dry and heat resistent surface.

Danger!
Ensure that there are no electric cables, gas and water pipelines or other facilities located underneath the position at which you might wish to affix the combination mounting is a risk of receiving an injury or an electric shock should you bore holes at these posi­tions!
1. Mark the boreholes on the wall.
To do this hold the combination mounting the desired position and, with a pencil or a sharp object, mark the drilling locations through the securing holes Take note that the markings need to be made through the upper, smaller part of the securing holes

2. Bore holes at the marked positions and insert
the wallplugs into them.
3. Turn the screws so far into the wallplugs that
ca. 5 mm of the screwshafts continue to be ex­posed.
4. Place the combination mounting

Before straightening
• The hair should be clean, dry and free of styling products.
• Comb the hair thoroughly before straightening so that there are no knots in it.
• To achieve an especially good straightening result, spread special products for hair straightening through the hair.
• Divide the hair into manageable portions and secure the upper portions to the head with grips so that they do not get in the way.
Fitting the ceramic plates
1. Slide the selected ceramic plate
open side at the front in the guide rail on the hair straightener until it audibly engages.

Changing the ceramic plates
Selecting the correct ceramic plates
Select the ceramic plate suitable for the task:
• Narrow ceramic plates For styling and structuring medium length to short strands and fringes.
• Wide ceramic plates For straightening wider hair strands.
Note:
NEVER use diverse sized ceramic plates at the same time. Risk of burns!
Attention!
In all cases the ceramic plates t/yMUST be cooled down before they are exchanged. Risk of burns!
Removing the ceramic plates
1. Remove the power plug

Note:
The ceramic plates t/ymust be free of conta­mination. If necessary, clean them before taking them into use (see chapter „Cleaning“).

• Start with the lower hair pieces at the back of the head. Work over the sides to the front.

Ensure the hair straightener does not make contact with the skin of the head. Risk of burns!
2. Clamp the hair strand between the ceramic plates
near the head

If the wide ceramic plates yare assembled:
Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
Dispose of the packaging materials in an environmentally responsible manner.

Cleaning
• Always allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it.
Attention!
Remove the power plug efrom the wall socket. Risk of electic shock!
• Wipe the housing and the ceramic plates t/ with a soft and lightly moistened cloth.
• In cases of stubborn soiling, use some mild detergent on the moistened cloth.
Note:
Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents. These could attack the upper surfaces and irreparably damage the appliance.

This appliance is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of purchase. It has been carefully produced and meticulously checked before delivery. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase. Contact your service centre by telephone in case of ques­tions pertaining to the warranty. Your goods can be transmitted free of cost only in this manner. The warranty covers only material or manufacturing faults, not normal wear or damage to fragile parts such as switches or rechargeable batteries. The appliance is intended solely for private, not commercial, use. If this product has been subjected to improper or inappropriate handling, abuse, or interventions not carried out by one of our authori­sed sales and service outlets, the warranty will be considered void. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights. This warranty applies only to the in­itial purchaser and is non-transferable.
