1. Safety instructions
Danger:
Should moisture/water permeate into the table lamp, …
• there is the danger of receiving an electric shock!
• it may be irreparably damaged!
Thus: Do not use or store the table lamp …
• in a humid environment!
• in close proximity to water! Additionally, never subject the table lamp to spray water or rain. NEVER place receptacles filled with water or other fluids, for example flower vases, on the table lamp!
Risk of Burns!
Hot surfaces. NEVER touch the lamp shade when the appliance is in use.
Risk of personal injury!
• Remove the table lamp plug from the wall power socket before changing the bulb. If the table lamp was previously switched on: allow the table lamp, and the bulb that is to be replaced, to first cool down for at least half an hour.
• Arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department.
• Clean the table lamp only after you have first withdrawn the plug from the wall power socket. Otherwise, there is the great risk of receiving an electric shock!
• Lay the power cable in such a way that no one can tread on or trip over it.
• This appliance is not intended for use by indivi­duals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance..
Beware of appliance damage!
• The table lamp can be irreparably damaged if it tips over or falls down! For this reason, always place the table lamp on a solid, level, slip-proof surface.
• Use only light bulbs that match the specifications detailed in these operating instructions.
• Do not use an extension cable. The appliance plug must be easily accessible in the event of an emergency.
Risk of fire!
The table lamp and the bulb will become hot when it is in use!
Thus:
• Do not cover the table lamp while it is switched on. Also, do not hang any objects over the table lamp.
• Do not place any easily inflammable/combustible materials in the immediate vicinity of the table lamp while it is switched on.

• Opening the base of the table lamp
• Repair attempts carried out by non-qualified personnel
• Improper use of thetable lamp,
no liability and/or warranty will be accepted!
Note:
In the event of a malfunction (the table lamp swit­ches itself off or changes the brightness level on its own) due to fast electrical transients (surge) resp. electrostatic discharge, the product must be reset in order to restore normal operation. Disconnect the appliance from the mains power sup­ply by withdrawing the plug. Then reconnect it.
This appliance could lose its dimmer function upon contact with conductive objects. As soon as the conductive object is removed, the appliance func­tions again without problem.

• as an illumination and decorative object for interior rooms (no damp rooms)
• for domestic, non-commercial use.

8. Using the table lamp
Always place the table lamp on a solid, level, slip­proof surface. To avoid malfunctioning, do not place the table lamp on metallic surfaces.
Do not place any easily inflammable/combustible materials in the immediate vicinity of the table lamp while it is switched on. Do not cover the table lamp while it is switched on. Also, do not hang any ob­jects over the table lamp. Do not place the table lamp on metallic objects.
Otherwise there is a risk of a short-circuit or fire!
7. Preparing the table lamp
for use
1. Carefully remove the table lamp from the packa­ging.
2. KH 4112/KH 4114: Screw the light bulb 1 (not supplied) into the bulb holder 3. Thereby, do not touch the bulb with your bare hands, in­stead, use a soft and lint-free cloth.
3. KH 4113: Loosen the covering cap 6 from the table lamp. Carefully remove the lampshade 2 upwards from the table lamp. Screw the bulb 1 (not supplied) into the bulb socket 3. Replace the lampshade 2 back onto the table lamp. Se­cure it with the help of the covering cap 6.
4. Applies to all models: Unwind the power cable 5 to its full length. Insert the power cable 5 into a power plug.
The table lamp is now ready for use.
• Switch the table lamp on by touching the base 4 with a finger (KH4113: touch the base 4 or the stand).The table lamp now lights up at the lowest brightness level.
• To switch it to the second brightness level: touch the base 4 a second time. Thereby, do not touch the bulb with your bare hands, instead, use a soft and lint-free cloth.
• To switch it on to the third brightness level: Touch the base 4 once again.
• To switch the table lamp off: touch the base 4 once again.
If you do not wish to use the table lamp for an ex­tended period of time: Remove the power cable 5 from the power socket. To avoid damage, be care­ful not to kink the power 5 cable.
9. Changing the light bulb
Should the bulb 1 in the table lamp be defect, it must be exchanged for a new one. Additionally:
• Remove the power cable 5 of the table lamp from the power socket.
If the table lamp was previously switched on: Allow the lamp shade 2 and the light bulb 1 at least a half-hour to cool down before you continue.
The risk of burns is ever present!
• KH 4112/KH 4114: Screw the light bulb 1 out of the bulb holder 3 in an anti-clockwise direction.
• KH 4113: Loosen the covering cap 6. Careful­ly remove the lampshade 2 upwards from the table lamp. Then screw the old light bulb 1 out of the bulb holder 3.

• Screw a new light bulb 1 into the bulb holder 3. Use exclusively light bulbs of the type E14, 40 W. Thereby, do not touch the bulb with your bare hands, instead, use a soft and lint-free cloth.
• KH 4113: Replace the lampshade 2 onto the table lamp. Secure it with the help of the cove­ring cap 6.
• Applies to all models: Insert the power cable 5 into a power socket. The table lamp is once again ready for use.
• Check to see if the fuse or circuit breaker for the electrical circuit to which the table lamp is con­nected has been broken/triggered.

• other functional defects arise.
10. Cleaning the table lamp
Before cleaning the table lamp, always remove its power cable from the power socket.
Clean the table lamp exclusively with a slightly damp cloth. Ensure that no moisture can permeate into the lamp!
Otherwise, there is the great risk of receiving an electric shock!
11. Troubleshooting
Problem
The table lamp does not function.
Possible causes / solutions
• Check to ensure that the power cable 5 is inser­ted into a power socket.
• Check to see if the light bulb 1 of the table lamp needs to be replaced. To do this, follow the steps described in section 9. "Changing the light bulb".
• Check to see if the power socket where the power cord 5 is plugged in is "live". To do this, connect another electrical device to the power socket.
12. Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the European guideline 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved dis­posal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally friendly manner.

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been ma­nufactured with care and meticulously examined be­fore delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our Service Depart­ment. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
The warranty covers only claims for material and maufacturing defects, but not for transport damage, for wearing parts or for damage to fragile compo­nents, e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial use. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampe­ring not carried out by our authorized service branch. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty period will not be extended by repairs made under warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired parts. Any damage and defects extant on purchase must be reported immediately after un­packing the appliance, at the latest, two days after the purchase date. Repairs made after the expira­tion of the warranty period are subject to payment.
