o The device may be used by children above 8 years of age and persons with
lesser psychological and mental capabilities or lack of knowledge and
experience in the event that they are supervised or adequately informed about
the safe use of the device and understand the dangers.
o Children should not play with the device.
o Children may not carry out cleaning or maintenance of the device unattended.
o Use the device only in accordance with the intended use as described in this
manual. Do not use extra plug-ins if not recommended by the manufacturer.
o Never place or insert objects in the openings.
o Space (bathroom) in which your massage cabin is located, must be designed
according to the regulations in force in each state. In zones 0, 1, 2 there
should be no switches, sockets or connections placed at your fingertips. They
should be located at least 0.6 m from the massage cabin and of a height of
2.25 m, as shown in Figure 2 - space.
o Excessive retention in hot water or steam can cause hyperthermia. This
occurs when the internal body temperature significantly exceeds the normal
body temperature of 37°C. Signs of hyperthermia are increased internal body
temperature, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness and fainting. The effects of
hyperthermia are inability for heat-detecting, absence of feeling the need to
leave the hot room, unawareness of the impending danger. It can cause
damage to the foetus in pregnant women, physical exhaustion loss of
consciousness, and general danger.
o Alcohol, drugs or medication before or during the use of massage cabins can
significantly increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia or slipping.
o Do not perform unauthorised interventions that affect the safe and smooth
operation of this product.
o Be careful when entering or leaving the hot tub / cabin.
o Avoid massage or steam bath immediately after hard day's work or after
strenuous exercise. Risk of hyperthermia.
o No electrical installations, including those which produce steam or moisture
are allowed to be used inside the cab.
o To remove particles from the pipes, the water supply needs to be drained by at
least 25-50 litres of water before connecting the massage cabin.
o Use of instantaneous water heater may reduce the flow of hot water. Due to
the difference in pressure of the hot and cold water the proper functioning of
the mixing water valve is hampered. In this case claims for improper operation
of the valve are not accepted.
o Low water flow or the use of multiple massage functions at the same time
reduces the effect (power) of jets.
o The effect of the jet is directly dependent on the flow rate (pressure) of water.
o The massage cabin is allowed to be connected to the water supply with
minimum pressure of 0.2 MPa (2 bar) but not more than 0,4 MPa (4 bar).
Connection to a higher water pressure is not allowed without the installation of
additional limiters set at 0.4 MPa (4 bar). Kolpa d. d. does not recognise any
claims which might arise from a higher water pressure than allowed for this
product.
o Parts containing electrical components (except for remote control), must be
placed or fastened so that they cannot fall into the massage cabin. A person in
www.kolpasan.eu
9
massage cab is not allowed to have access to any parts containing live parts,
except those supplied with safety extra-low voltage (SELV) not exceeding 12 V.
o Children are allowed to use the appliance without supervision only if
instructed on the safe use massage showers, and if they understand the
potential dangers in the event of improper use.
o The device may only be connected to the mains electricity which is protected
by means of a fault current protection switch FID IΔN 30 mA. The FID switch
is designed to interrupt the phase conductor and the zero conductor in cases
when the current flowing into the switch along the phase conductor is not the
same as the one flowing out along the zero conductor.
o The massage shower enclosure must be permanently connected to the power
supply network, i.e. plugging it into a socket is PROHIBITED. In addition, it
must be possible to switch off this circuit with a multipole switch. The device
enabling the separation of all poles from the power supply network must be
integrated within the electrical wiring in line with the national wiring-related
regulations.
o The cable entry must be protected with a 16A safety fuse (3.5kW). Conductor
cross-section = 2.5 mm2.
o The device may only be plugged into the mains electricity if furnished with a
ballast that disconnects the phase conductor and the zero conductor from the
device.
o The manufacturer or repairer of this device (i.e. the massage shower
enclosure) is not responsible for the installation and proper functioning of both
switches, i.e. FID and ballast.
o The additional earth conductor (cross-section = 6 mm2) must be
connected to the connection point for equipotential bonding, which is
marked with the symbol shown on the right:
oWhile the steam bath is on, all parts of the person’s body must be at least 15
cm away from the outgoing steam nozzle in order to avoid the risk of getting
burned.
o The continuous-flow water heater decreases the flow of hot water. Due to the
different pressure of hot and cold water, the proper functioning of the water
mixer is impeded. In such cases, no complaints on the grounds of improper
mixer functioning shall be acknowledged.
o The low flow of water or the simultaneous use of several massage functions
will decrease the effect (i.e. the intensity) of the massage jet nozzles.
o The massage shower enclosure may be connected to the water supply with a
minimum pressure of 0.2 MPa (2 bar) or a maximum pressure of 0.4 MPa (4
bar). Connecting it to higher water pressure is prohibited without installing an
additional device intended to limit the water pressure and set at 0.4 MPa (4
bar). Kolpa d.d. shall not acknowledge complaints arising from the use of
water pressure that is higher than allowed for this product.
o The parts which contain electrical components (with the exception of remote
controls) must be set or affixed in a way that prevents them from falling into
the bathtub. The parts that contain components under voltage, with the
exception of parts under safety extra low voltage (SELV) that does not exceed
12 V, may not be accessible to the person in the massage shower enclosure.
o Certain parts of the massage shower enclosure feature surfaces
that heat up to such an extent that they can cause burns in the
event of direct contact or lengthy exposure at a distance of 10 to
15 cm. Such surfaces feature a symbol shown on the right.

CLEANING and MAINTENANCE OF A MASSAGE BATH
CABIN
o Children may not carry out cleaning or maintenance of the device if
unattended.
o After completing the massage cycle, massage cabin shall be rinsed with
a jet of clean water and particles which might clog the openings in the
massage nozzle removed. Use a clean cloth to wipe the chrome parts.
o Use only liquid cleansers and a soft cloth to clean.
o To clean the acrylic and other kerrock or metal surfaces as well as to
remove lime scale KOLPA SAN SPECIAL CLEANER is recommended.
Spray the special cleaner on the surface or apply it with a sponge and
allow a few minutes to operate. Rinse with clean water. For valves with
a distinct sheen wiping the surface is recommended.
o ATTENTION: The use of detergents in concentrations higher than
indicated in the appropriate instructions is not allowed.
o ATTENTION: Cleaner operating for longer than 60 minutes may HARM
THE SURFACES of coloured elements and high-gloss elements
(chrome).
o Descaling can also be done by using household vinegar which is more
effective when it warms up.
o It is forbidden to use abrasive cleaning agents containing coarse fillers.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
FOR SHOWER ENCLOSURE BALL BEARINGS
When cleaning the Kolpa San shower enclosures using the KOLPA SAN
SPECIAL CLEANING AGENT, which is very effective when it comes to
removing limescale and thorough cleaning of other components, make sure to
carefully adhere to the following instructions (the same applies to the
CLEANING LIQUID prior to the application of the protective coating):
- The cleaning agent should be left on to take effect for a maximum of 5
minutes.
- Afterwards, rinse off thoroughly with water for at least a minute, across the
entire surface of the casing of the ball bearing.
- Periodically check the movability of the turning part and the revolvable wheel.
Lubrication:
Wipe the bottoms of the lower and upper bearings with a cloth. When dried,
lubricate the balls, the revolvable cap on both bearings and the groove of the
profile with the KOLPA SAN lubricant for ball bearings.
For easier access to the ball bearings, we recommend taking the glass door
off the aluminium frame of the shower enclosure. This can be done in the
following manner:
www.kolpasan.eu
11
1. Press the spring on the bottom ball bearing.
2. Tilt the bottom part of the door towards the enclosure’s interior, enabling
the ball bearing to slip out of the aluminium groove. The door should
hang by the upper ball bearings only.
3. Slightly lift the entire glass door so that it slips from the aluminium
groove.
4. Lubricate the ball bearings.
5. Reattach the glass door to the massage shower enclosure.
We recommend lubricating the ball bearings once or twice per year, or more,
depending on the frequency of opening/closing of the massage shower
enclosure door.
GENERAL WARNINGS ON CONNECTION AND
INSTALLATION
o The massage cabin is allowed to be connected to the water supply with
minimum pressure of 0.2 MPa (2 bar) but not more than 0,4 MPa (4 bar).
Connection to a higher water pressure is not allowed without the installation of
additional limiters set at 0.4 MPa (4 bar). Kolpa d. d. does not recognise any
claims which might arise from a higher water pressure than allowed for this
product.
o Connecting the water inlet hose to the massage cabin or pillar shall be
performed in a way avoiding that a pillar or wall would PRESS directly to the
connecting pipe or any other pipe of the massage system. To install the main
water inlet on the wall connector we recommend using of an ANGLED
connector or a 90° ELBOW for an easier connection and relieved joints.
o Kolpa d. d. does not recognise any claims which might arise from an
inappropriate installation.
o Positions of electrical outlets, hot and cold water drains and inlets, as shown in
the attached drawings and installation instructions, are showing only one of
the possible layouts of these connections. Their position is allowed to change
to any other location within the dimensions of the item, as long as this position
does not interfere with the function / operation of the elements mounted on the
pillar or a massage cabin. Hot and cold water supply pipes can, if necessary,
be extended or replaced with pipes of suitable length. Kolpa d. d. does not
recognise any claims which might arise from damage made by replacing or the
quality of the replacing pipes.
o To remove particles from the pipes, the water supply needs to be drained by at
least 25-50 litres of water before connecting the pillar or massage cabin.
o Inlet of each product connected to a water source is recommended to feature
a stop valve. If this valve is already installed in the existing water installation
scheme and is able to stop water just for your apartment or bathroom, then the
installation of an additional valve is not required. CAUTION! Pay attention to
the dimensions of the valve, as the massage pillars leave very little space for
connection to the water network. Angled or straight ball valves of smaller
dimensions are recommended.
