Usage

How to remove the water tank

Grasp the handle on the water tank and press the trigger button to remove the water tank from the main unit. Refer to Fig 1.

Filling the cap

The filling cap is attached to the water tank. Lift the filler cap to fill the water tank. Never fill the water tank beyond the maximum water mark.

Power switch

Connect the iron to the mains power and press the power switch. The power indicator light will illuminate, indicating power is reaching the iron. The low steam rate indicator light will begin to flash (this is the default setting). To switch the iron off, press and hold the power switch for 2 seconds. Both the power indicator and the low steam rate indicator will turn off.
Note: Always disconnect the mains power when the iron is not in use.
Note: when the iron is switched ON, it is normal to hear noises from the
water pump. The noise from the water pump will continue to occur on and off during use, as the iron will keep pumping water from the water tank to generate steam.

Steam rate control buttons

Low, medium or high steam rate settings can be selected by pressing the two steam rate control buttons (refer to the control panel section Fig 3). After selecting the desired steam rate, the corresponding indicator light will start to flash. Once the indicator light stops flashing, it means the steam function is ready for use.

Temperature dial

Turn the dial to set your desired ironing temperature depending on the fabric required. (Refer to fig 2).

Temperature indicator

When the iron is heating up, the temperature indicator next to the temperature dial will be illuminated. Once the iron has reached the selected temperature, the temperature indicator light will turn off. The temperature indicator light will turn ON and OFF as the iron maintains the selected temperature setting during ironing.

Steam release button

Once the iron has reached its selected temperature, press and hold the steam release button and steam will be sprayed from the soleplate continuously. When the steam button is released, the iron can be used for dry ironing without any steam. The location of the steam release button is shown in fig 1.
Note: the steam release button must be pressed for steam ironing.
Page 5

Low water indicator

When the water in the tank goes below a certain level, the low water indicator will light up, two buzzers will sound and the steam generator will stop working. The buzzers are a prompt to add water to the water tank.

Descaling indicator

The descaling indicator light will illuminate to show that the steam generator requires cleaning dur to the accumulation of mineral deposits found in hard water. When the deposits have been removed from the steam generator, the indicator light will turn off. Note: instructions for removing the mineral deposits is explained under the Cleaning and Maintenance section.

Cord clamp

When not in use, the steam supply hose and the power cord can be stored around the winding groove on the iron base. To do this, pull the cord clamp out gently, then wind the cord around the winding groove, then gently push the cord clamp back.

Automatic power OFF

The iron will automatically turn itself off if no steam is spraying out of the soleplate or left idling for more than 10 minutes. To turn the iron back on, press the Power switch on the control panel, as shown in fig 3.

Before first use

1. Remove any stickers, protective wraps or storage covers (if fitted) from the soleplate.
2. Heat the iron up to the maximum temperature and iron over a piece of damp cloth for several minutes to remove any residue from the production process that may have accumulated on the soleplate and steam unit by following the instructions for Steam Ironing.
Note: it is normal to experience an odour when the appliance is switched ON for the first time. This is caused by lubrication during the manufacturing process and should cease after a short amount of use. If the odour seems excessive, use in a will ventilated area until the odour disappears.
Note: some particles or debris may come out of the soleplate upon first time use. This is normal and the particles will stop quickly.
Note: when you switch the appliance on, the steam generator will produce a pumping sound. This is normal; this sound means that water is being pumped into the steam generator. This will continue on and off during use.
Note: during the heating process of the soleplate, a small amount of steam may come out of the soleplate automatically. This will continue for about 3 seconds and is completely normal.

Using your steam station

The appliance has two functions. You can use dry ironing or steam ironing as described below.

Dry ironing

1. Put the iron on the steam generator thermal insulating cushion. (refer fig 1)
2. Connect the plug to the wall outlet and press the power switch.
3. Turn the temperature dial to your desired temperature. The temperature indicator light will illuminate and the iron will start to heat. (refer to fig 2) Note: for best results, refer to IRONING TIPS below.
4. When the temperature indicator turns off, the selected temperature has been reached. You can now start ironing. Warning: never touch the hot soleplate during use and ensure it has completely cooled down after use before touching.

Steam ironing

1. Grasp the handle on the water tank and press the trigger to take the water tank out, then open the filling cap and fill the tank with water. We suggest you use purified water to avoid mineral deposits accumulating in the iron. After filling with water, close the filling cap. The max capacity of the water tank is 1.7L. Never exceed the MAX mark when filling the water tank.
2. Replace the detachable water tank on the steam generator.
3. Place the iron on the thermal insulating cushion on the steam generator.
4. Connect the plug to the mains power, press the power switch and the default low steam rate indicator will start to flash. Turn the temperature dial to your desired heat setting and the temperature light will illuminate. Note: for best results, refer to IRONING TIPS below.
5. The water in the tank will be heated after a few minutes and the temperature indicator will turn off, which indicates that the soleplate temperature has reached your selected heat setting.
6. Ensure that the selected steam indicator light has stopped flashing, as this will indicate that the iron is ready for steam ironing. You can use the steam function by pressing the steam release button on the iron.
7. You can select three steam modes (low, medium or high) by pressing the steam rate control buttons on the panel (refer fig 3). Make sure there is enough water in the water tank. Warning: never touch the hot soleplate during use and ensure it has completely cooled down after use before touching. Never direct the steam spray at people or animals. Severe burns can occur if misused.
8. After ironing, press the Power switch for two seconds and the appliance will turn OFF. Remove the plug from the wall socket. Caution: the soleplate will still be hot, even after the plug has been removed from the socket. Place the iron down on the thermal insulating cushion until it has cooled.
Page 7

Cleaning and Maintenance

Before cleaning, ensure you disconnect the iron from the mains power outlet and ensure the soleplate has cooled down completely.
1. Wipe flakes or any other deposits on the soleplate away with a damp cloth or a non-abrasive liquid cleaner. Note: do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive cleaners to scrape the soleplate.
2. Clean the upper part of the iron with a soft damp cloth. Wipe away any water drops on the steam generator and thermal insulating cushion with a dry cloth.
3. To remove the mineral deposits accumulated in the inner steam generator, first put the iron horizontally on a level surface, then tilt the steam generator and unscrew the drain water cap with the attached screwer, then drain all of the water from the steam generator. (refer to fig 4 below) Warning: to avoid risk of scalding from hot water, make sure the steam generator has cooled down completely before unscrewing the drain water cap.
Fig 4
4. After draining the water, screw the drain water cap back on tightly.
5. When the appliance is not being used for a long time, completely empty the tank and store the iron on the thermal insulating cushion.
6. Wind the steam supply hose and the power cord around the cord winding groove, then secure it by the cord clamps.

IRONING TIPS

Always check the label on the item of clothing before starting your ironing. Always follow these ironing instructions.
The iron heats up quicker than it cools down. Therefore, you should start ironing the articles requiring the lowest temperatures first, such as those made of synthetic fibres.
If the fabric consists of various types of fabrics/fibres, then you must always select the lowest ironing temperature for those fibres.
Silk and other fabrics that are likely to become shiny should be ironed inside out.
Velvet and other textures that rapidly becoming shiny should be ironed in one direction with light pressure applied. Always keep the iron moving all times.
Pure wool fabrics (100% wool) may be ironed with the steam iron. Preferably set the temperature dial to the maximum position and use a dry cloth as a mat.
Never iron over a zip or rivet in the cloth. This will damage the soleplate. Iron around any such objects.
