Important safety instructions
Read carefully before start up!
kobold lighting systems should be used exclusively for professional
applications and only by qualified personnel. Before starting up your
equipment read carefully all the information in this operating instructions
manual. The safety instructions included in the operating instructions
must be strictly followed!
- Read and understand all instructions before using the equipment!
- Remove the transport protection and the packing material!
- Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the information on the type plate of
the unit!
- This ballast unit may only be operated with kobold fixtures.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children! Never
leave the equipment unattended while in use! Keep animals well away from the
equipment.
- Prior to replacing fuses or lighting means disconnect the ballast unit, all poles,
from the mains power supply. Always unplug the ballast unit or the fixtures from
the electrical socket before cleaning and servicing and when not in use.
- Units which have been dropped or damaged must be checked by a specialist
before reconnection. Never jerk cable to pull the plug from the socket, grasp
plug and pull to disconnect!
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, never open this unit, but bring it to a
qualified service person when service or repair work is required. Incorrect
reassembly can cause electric shock when the appliance is used subsequently,
even when it is closed.
- Protect the unit from heat and frost! Sudden temperature differences can cause
condensation water in the unit! In such situations the unit must remain for 1
hour in a well ventilated place to become acclimatised to the new temperature!
- In general, the ballast unit may only be operated with original kobold lamps and
lamp cable. Only lamps which are approved for operation with this ballast unit
should be utilised! kobold ballast units, lamps and accessories meet an
extremely high safety standard! When connecting kobold lamps to ballast units
of other brands, or kobold ballast units to lamps of other brands, and / or
accessories of other brands to kobold lamps, integrated safety measures may
become ineffective! Due to different design features and contact assignment of
the lamp plugs of other brands, the user himself / herself may even be at risk.
We offer no guarantee and accept no liability for damages which may be caused
by this type of unauthorised usage.
- For safety reasons the unit may only be operated with an earthed mains (ACline) plug socket. When the unit is switched on, the yellow LED display must
light up "earth ok".
