1.0 Note

Prior to unpacking and installation, please read the operating instructions and follow
them carefully. These units are to be used, serviced, and repaired only by individuals
who are familiar with the operating instructions and the applicable regulations for
operational safety and accident prevention.

2.0 Intended Use

The plug-in display unit model AUF is a universally applicable, on-site display unit for a
variety of measuring transducers. The measuring transducer is merely required to have
an analog output and a plug-type connection in accordance with DIN 43 650. The plug­in display unit is simply attached between plug and socket and is immediately ready for
operation. Scale, the position of the decimal point, attenuation, and the operating
position (option) are adjusted with two keys (upon removal of the cover). The individual
menu steps are displayed on the LED display. The display rotates by 90°.

3.0 Control of units

The units are checked before shipment and shipped in good condition. If you detect a
visible defect on the unit, we recommend that you carefully check the packing material.
In the event of a defect, please notify the mail service/freight forwarder, as the shipper is
responsible for shipping damage.

4.0 Mechanical Connection

The plug-in display unit is simply connected between plug and socket and is immediately
ready for operation. Please be sure to intsall the provided gasket between the sensing
instrument connector and the AUF. The attachment screw must be replaced by the
longer screw included in the shipment.

Attach the plug-in display unit as shown

+V Supply............PIN 1

-V Supply.............PIN 2

Switch outlet.........PIN 3

For units with Open Collector output,

Electrical Connection

connect PIN 2 and PIN 3.

6.0 Setting

For setting, release the 4 Phillips
screws on the display unit and
remove the covering cap.

A=>downward and selection of menu items

B=>upward and selection of menu items

A+B=>select menu item to set or to confirm setting

6.1 Decimal Point

Press B key until - d P - is displayed.

=>A+B menu item to set:- -.- -

=>B or A for up and down:- - -.-

=>A+B to confirm setting and return to menu item - d P -

6.2 Zero Point (value to be displayed at 4 mA)

Press B until - Z P 4 is displayed

=>A+B menu item to set:- 0.0 0 for example (0 psig)

=>B or A for up and down

=>A+B to confirm setting and return to menu item -Z P -

6.3 Range (value to be displayed at 20 mA)

Press B key until E P 2 0 is displayed.

=>A+B menu item to set - 0 0 0

=>B or A for up and down 6 0.0 0 (60 psig)

=>A+B to confirm setting and return to menu item - E P -

6.4 Attenuation

Press B key until F I L t is displayed

=>A+B menu item to set 0 0 0.3 (Min.=0.3 sec.;Max.=20.0 sec.)

=>B or A for up or down - - 1.5 (1.5 sec.)

=>A+B to confirm setting and return to menu item F I L t

6.5 Range Exceeded (displayed if below 4 mA or above 20 mA)

Display: “HI”=>range exceeded or “L0”=>below range

Press B key until H I L 0 is displayed.

=>A+B menu item for setting: - 0 F F display inactive

=>B or A for up or down: - 0 n - display active

=>A+B to confirm setting and return to menu item H I L 0

Report - h I - = measuring range exceeded, - L 0 - = below measuring range

Please note: If H I L 0 display is inactive, measuring range exceeded (-1999 to 9999)

is indicated by “E r 0 6”.

=>B or A for up or down: 2 0.0 0 (20 psig)

Operating Position (Option)

Please note: Standard hysteresis is the set point minus 3 digits.

Upon customer request, the hysteresis is adjustable at the plant as per request.

7.0 Operating Direction (Option)

8.0 Return to measuring mode

By pressing A or B key 1 to 6 times depending on the selected menu item.
