Congratulations and thank you for choosing Knoll Systems products. The MR1250v amplifier with it's VC201 keypads are the power behind an advanced music control system, that's easy to use with top quality sound available in up to six rooms.
Your music system consists of:
1. Rooms with stereo speakers and one or two VC201 or one VC201e or one VC201f keypad.
2. One or more MR1250v amplifiers.
3. Stereo source components such as tuners, CD players, satellite dish receivers, cassette decks, and/or other components.
4. RB8 remote control(s) if VC201f keypad(s) have been installed.
While the MR1250v evolved after years of research, its use is straightforward and direct. Each keypad or RB8 remote can turn the system on and off and controls music in the room it is installed in. In some rooms more than one pair of speakers may be connected. In some rooms there may be two VC201 keypads controlling the same speakers.
After installation the system is controlled entirely by the keypads, the source components and the remote controls. The source components can be controlled by their individual remote controls. If VC201e or VC201f infrared keypads were installed, the source components can be controlled from the rooms by aiming the remote control at the keypad and pressing the appropriate remote control button (VC201e or VC201f infrared receiver keypads can be easily upgraded after installation with no wiring changes). The MR1250v amplifier is usually switched off using it's front panel power switch when it is anticipated that it will not be used for more than one week. Otherwise the system power on and off are controlled by the room keypads.
First, turn on the music source for this room. After the MR1250v power switch has been switched on (MR1250v led is red) press the up or down key on any VC201 keypad or the power button on the RB8 remote control. The MR1250v "boots up" on to it's "always the same" start-up level and you are now listening that source. Use the volume control up/ down keys to adjust the volume to your liking. When required press the middle of the keypad switch to mute the speakers. Press the up or down button again and the volume is restored. It's that simple. The green led's indicate the relative volume level (40 different levels available) and the bottom keypad led indicates if the system has been turned on from any other keypad.
If the volume level indicator is blinking this indicates that this room speakers have been muted.
