SAFETY
• This product must be installed in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and current Building Regulations. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician
• Please isolate mains prior to installation or maintenance
• Check the total load on the circuit (including when this luminaire is fitted) does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse or circuit breaker
• Please note the IP (Ingress Protection) rating of this product when deciding the location for installation
• This product is Class II double insulated
• This product is IP65 rated
INSTALLATION
Note - Microwave sensors may not be suitable for all installations, for example enclosed spaces, as they are
able to detect movement through non-metallic surfaces like plasterboard and thin doors.
• Provide power to the required point of installation (refer to BS7671 for correct cabling methods). Suitable IP rated junction boxes should be used where required
• Remove the diffuser from the luminaire housing by unscrewing the four screws
• Drill the fixing holes in the rear of the fitting. Mark the location of the fixing holes and drill ensuring not to infringe with any gas/water pipes or electrical cables
• Feed the mains cable through the rubber grommet to retain IP rating, and secure the base to the surface using the plugs and screws provided

• The additional terminal L’ is the Slave Live, which enables the sensor to power on additional luminaires. A max. 400W LED load can be controlled by the sensor
• Connect the battery to the inverter
• Choose the required driver output and colour temperature via the switches on the driver (see Fig. 2)

• Re-attach the diffuser to the luminaire body using the four screws
• Switch on and check for correct operation ensuring the green indicator LED is illuminated
• See below for operation of the self-test function
• We recommend, on commissioning the installation, a minimum charge period of 24 hours before carrying out an emergency duration test
SELF-TEST FUNCTION
This product is programmed to carry out its own self-test operation according to the following programme:
24 hours after first power on 3-hour initial duration test
then every 28 days 30-second function test
and every 52 weeks 3-hour duration test
Following self-tests, the unit will revert to charging mode, and any faults will be indicated by the bi-colour LED indicator as follows:
LED INDICATOR STATUS
Solid green Normal conditions, battery is charged / charging
Slow flash green (1 sec on, 1 sec off) Self-test (function or duration test) underway
Solid red Battery fault
Slow flash red (1 sec on, 1 sec off) Lamp fault
Fast flash red (0.25 sec on, 0.25 sec off) Failed duration test
To clear a fault indication, disconnect and reconnect the mains supply once the fault has been rectified. To reset the self-test timing schedule, disconnect and reconnect the battery - disconnecting and reconnecting the mains supply does not reset the timing schedule.

TESTING FOR EMERGENCY LUMINAIRES
Recommended routine test procedure in accordance with BS5266:
• Daily check – check status of bi-colour LED indicator
• Monthly functional test – the luminaire will perform this function without any action from the user. Alternatively, simulate a mains supply failure for approx. 30 seconds by operation of key switch, or switching off circuit breaker. Ensure normal supply is restored after test and check status of bi-colour LED indicator
• Annual 3-hour duration test – the luminaire will perform this function without any action from the user. Alternatively, simulate a mains supply failure for 3-hour continuous test by operation of key switch, or switching off circuit breaker. Ensure normal supply is restored after test and check status of bi-colour LED indicator
• If the luminaire fails any of the above tests, please contact a qualified electrician. Results should be recorded, even when obtained via the self-test function. See below for test record sheet
