GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions should be read carefully and retained after installation by the end user for future reference and maintenance. These instructions should be used to aid installation of the following products: GDL2 / GDL3
SAFETY
• This product must be installed in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and current Building Regulations. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician
• Please isolate mains prior to installation or maintenance
• Check the total load on the circuit (including when this luminaire is fitted) does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse or circuit breaker
• Please note the IP (Ingress Protection) rating of this product when deciding the location for installation
• This product is Class I and must be earthed
• This product is IP54 rated
INSTALLATION
• Provide power to the required point of installation. Suitable IP rated junction boxes should be used where required
• Remove the four baseplate hex screws and remove baseplate (see Fig. 1)

Remove the four base plate hex screws and remove base plate (see Fig 1)

Using the base plate as a template, mark the location of the fixing holes and drill the holes ensuring not to
infringe with any gas/water pipes or electrical cables

• Using the baseplate as a template, mark the location of the fixing holes and drill the holes ensuring not to infringe with any gas/water pipes or electrical cables
• Use expansion bolts or appropriate fixings to secure the baseplate to the desired surface (not included, see ‘Mounting’)
• Remove the four junction box screws and remove the cover (see Fig. 2)

• Ensuring that correct polarity is observed, terminate the mains cable in the terminal block within the junction box (see Fig. 3)

• Refit the junction box cover and fasten
• Secure the fitting back to the baseplate and fasten the four hex screws (see Fig. 4)

Remove Allen screws
LAMP INSTALLATION
• Remove both hex screws using the Allen key provided to gain access to the GU10 lamp holder (see Fig. 5)

• Install a GU10 lamp into the fitting ensuring not to exceed the maximum 35W rating (lamp not included)
• Switch on and check for correct operation
MOUNTING
The GDL2 is suitable for use with the GDLSPIKE2 or the GDLMK23 The GDL3 is only suitable for use with the GDLMK23 Important: Ensure correct fixings are used to suit the installation environment and mounting surface

This luminaire is intended for domestic areas, and for decorative and ornamental use only.

GENERAL
Clean the external surfaces with a damp cloth using a mild solution of detergent and warm water only, do not use aggressive cleaning products or solvents which may damage the product. Do not use any source of high-pressure washers to maintain or clean this luminaire. This product is not suitable for installation in or near a coastal or marine environment. A light film of acid-free oil is recommended after installation and maintained periodically (2-3 times a year) to aid corrosion prevention. This product is dimmable dependent on lamp type. This product should be recycled in the correct manner when it reaches the end of its life. Check local authorities for where facilities exist.
WARRANTY
This product has a warranty of 2 years from date of purchase. Failure to install this product in accordance with the current edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations, improper use, or removal of the batch codes will invalidate the warranty. If this product should fail within its warranty period, it should be returned to the place of purchase for a free of charge replacement. ML Accessories does not accept responsibility for any installation costs associated with the replacement product. Your statutory rights are not affected. ML Accessories reserve the right to alter product specification without prior notice.
