KMD-1183 NetSensor Operator’s Guide

Operating Instructions

Introduction

A KMD-1183 NetSensor is a temperature/humidity­sensing, wall-mounted, operator interface
for controlling a heating, ventilation, and air
conditioning (HVAC) system using KMC direct
digital controls. The NetSensor includes nine buons
(see illustration) that are described here along with
basic operation.

Raise or lower the temperature setpoint

To adjust the room temperature, press the Mode
buon to cycle to Cooling Setpoint or Heating
Setpoint mode (or ip open the cover and press the
desired buon) and use the up/down arrow buons
to adjust the setpoint to the desired seing.

Override unoccupied temperature setback/setup

To restore normal room temperature during a
scheduled unoccupied period, press the Mode
buon to cycle to Override mode (or ip open the
cover and press the Override buon) and use the
up/down arrow buons to turn On or O.

Check the humidity

Humidity is continuously displayed as xx% RH in
the middle right-hand side of the screen. To display
humidity on the top primary display, ip open the
cover and press the Humidity buon.

Check (and set) system time or day of week

System time is continuously displayed in the lower
right-hand side of the screen. To display the system
time or day of week on the top primary display,
ip open the cover and press the desired buon. If
the system is a stand-alone unit (not networked),
the time and day can also be adjusted by using the
up/down arrow buons (note AM/PM designators).
For Day of Week, simultaneously press Time and
Humidity buons (on the display, 1 = Sun., 2 = Mon.,
3 = Tue., 4 = Wed., 5 = Thur., 6 = Fri., and 7 = Sat.).

Check the system failure alarm

If a failure is detected in the HVAC system, the
controller will shut down the system. If the HVAC
system does not seem to be operating, press the
Alarm buon. If On is displayed, the HVAC system
requires servicing.

Button Descriptions

The up and down arrow buons are used for raising
or lowering a value, such as temperature setpoint.
The other buons are described below:

Mode—cycles between display/set options for

setpoint, and override. (The mode returns to

default room temperature display about ten

seconds aer the last buon press.)

Cooling Setpoint—displays the cooling
