This is the user manual for Modley, a multi-effect delay plug-in effect available for iPad (AUv3) and
Mac & Windows (AU/VST/AAX). It has been designed and developed by Klevgrand, a small studio
in Stockholm, Sweden. Modley is a modulation delay with effect insert capabilities, which lets you
design the whole delay signal with several carefully selected effect modules, to create unique
signal flows.

Until unlocked, the plug-in will output 1 second of silence now and then. To unlock the full version,
click the Authorize label (bottom right corner) and type/paste your license key.
Basic concepts
Modley consists of three effect racks - Pre, Loop and Post. Each rack has four slots where effect
modules can be inserted. Depending on where an effect is inserted, it will process the audio in
different stages of the chain. Depending on what the Feedback parameter is set to, a certain
amount of the signal from the Loop rack’s output will loop back to its input.

The flexibility of Modley makes the delay loop sensitive for self oscillation.!
Be careful when adjusting the insert parameters in the loop.

User Interface
1. PRE RACK
Inserted effects will be processed once from left to right, before entering the loop rack
2. LOOP RACK
Inserted effects will be processed from left to right. The feedback control (8) sets the amount of
signal to be routed back from the loop output to the input.
3. POST RACK
Inserted effects will be processed from left to right after leaving the loop rack.
4. EFFECT SLOT
Press the hamburger icon (𑁔) to select an effect to insert. To remove an effect, select the topmost
item EMPTY from the list. To change position of an insert, press and drag anywhere on the insert
where there are no interactive items. All inserts can be bypassed using the bypass switch to the
top left on each insert.
5. PRESET
Click to open a popup window with selectable presets, or step with the arrow buttons.
6. DELAY TIME
Controls the overall delay time, applied before entering each loop.
7. SYNC
Delay time as note values (synced to the host’s BPM)

8. FEEDBACK
Sets the amount to be re-routed from the loop rack’s output to its input. A high feedback can
quickly increase the signal, so be careful.
9. FREEZE
Freezes the current delay signal.
10.FREEZE MODE
Pre
Freezed signal is fed through the loop rack chain.
Post
Freezed signal is not processed by the rack chain.
11.MODULATION
Mix
The level of the delay modulation

Each effect rack provides 4 slots with selectable effects, processed from left to right. It is possible
to change the order of the effects within the rack, and they all can be bypassed. You can use
automation for all of the effects, and their parameters are named with convention ”[Rack name]
Slot [Slot] param [Parameter index]” for example ”Pre Slot 1 param 1”.
COMPRESSOR
Simple one-knob compressor with the ability to switch between
fast and slow attack and release.
